What was the worst quad-engine bomber of World War II and why was it the B24 Liberator?
The Lancaster would like to have a word with you mate.

Probably the He-177
If you end up shooting someone in a self-defense situation, is it better for you, legally speaking, if they live or die?
Yes, let lil Jamal-kun live and enjoy spending extra money in court even if his claims don't hold up. That's still either thousands of dollars more down the drain than if he was dead or at least higher legal premiums for you.
Self-defense situations cost a defender at least $10,000 minimum in court. By letting the cunt live, you doubled the fucking price.
You know that whole, "Don't point your gun at something you don't intend to destroy", rule?
Apply that, and then apply yourself

Thinking about buying a bolt action rifle for my collection
Was thinking about getting a remington model 700 in 30-06
Is it worth it /K/? Never dipped into them before and after loads of reviews ot looks pretty damn fun.
Any recommendations would be nice, somewhat new to guns and completely new to bolt action rifles.
I currently own a
Springfield 1911 (TRP)
Glock 19
Sig p226
Ruger GP100
Cz-75B
Arsenal AK-47
And a Ruger takedown (AR15)

Where do you plan to store it? Is it going to be in the open for people to see as a talking piece or in a safe where no one will ever see it unless you go to the range?
Go with pre 2000s model 700s.
Let's pretend that NATO does not exist and the only countries involved are Ireland and the UK:
Does /k/ think that it would be possible for the Republic of Ireland to invade and occupy the north of Ireland?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah-wLbj1EUc
Bumping for interest.
The Irish military has little to no offensive weaponry with which to strike positions in Northern Ireland.
The Irish pride themselves on having a Pacificst foreign policy with a purely defensive force.
IIRC, theyre too cucked to do anything
Lets see
>Navy
Literally no ships with missiles. None.
>Air force
7 (SEVEN) turboprop aircraft capable of mounting light machine guns and rockets. Nothing else capable of mounting armament.
>Army
Small, and 0 (ZERO) tanks
For all intents and purposes, this military might as well not exist.
>>33953264
>implying they need it
The fifth column would swarm over the countryside in a day or two. The only question would be the blowback from the UK and it's not like they are capable of mounting a D-Day in this day and age. Most likely the government would fall and Scotland and Wales would choose to secede as well.
At Gander Mountain, I can get this magazine for 30% off.
Is this a good deal?

I don't own a glock, but $50 for a fucking glock mag? I thought they were supposed to be cheap and plentiful?
My M&P mags are around $20-30 a piece.

Still overpriced.

Decades of horrific mismanagement.

Nigger you what?
>Phoenix Comic-Con coming up in a couple weeks
>Wanna cosplay now that I have some cash
>Wanna be a STALKER because I can actually use some of the shit for non-cosplay stuff, and it's either that or dress up as an airshit opr8r tryhard
>Not hunting down a Spike Spiegel outfit and airshit Jericho
>Phoenix is 100+ during Comic-Con
Is there any way I can do something STALKER-y or at least /ak/ that won't involve hunting down a bunch of shit or dying of heatstroke walking to the convention?
>>33952428
Considering there's no way to replicate the iconic sunrise suit without some sowing skills I'd recommend just some hobo-tier operate stuff with a gasmask for the stalker look.
>>33952456
I wasn't gonna go Sunrise suit, just a STALKER theme. But the problem of doing something distinctively STALKER-y is that all of it seems Iike a heatstroke waiting to happen in the AZ summer.
Is there some slavshit milsurp I can order online that's bearable in hot weather and I can use to throw together a STALKER cosplay in 2 weeks?
>>33952597
not slavshit, but for a gas mask try an Avon S-10 or fm-12. You'll thank me when you don't have tunnel vision and mesothelioma
How did the US think it was ok to use a GPMG designed from the ground up as a vehicle mounted weapon as a dismounted infantry weapon? How did it go on for decades in the same heavy as fuck and with the more vehicularly suited buttstock of the M240B?
It's damn near 9 pounds heavier than a PKM, and about 4.5 pounds heavier than the M60 that it replaced. Not a big deal for a vehicle mounted weapon, but that weight difference represents a potential for hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
>Just suck it up
I know this will come up. This is a stupid defense of a design flaw when it has been demonstrated a comparable weapon can be made that weighs less.
>>33952378
Lots of countries use the FN MAG.
Isn't that what the Mk 48 exists for?
>>33952378
It's the best GPMG other than a MG3.
>deal with if fuckboi
I know that when aircraft carriers first started to become a thing, there were arguments between admirals who favored carriers, and older admirals who thought that battleships were still going to be the primary capital ships. Why question is, what arguments were there in favor of battleships over carriers? It seems kind of obvious that a ship capable of carrying torpedo bombers is going to BTFO everything else, especially large, slow targets that cannot really dodge torpedoes. What sort of arguments were used against carriers?
>>33952158
Because of a multitude of reasons.
For one, planes were short ranged, experimental, unreliable, heavily effected by the weather, couldn't carry much and were very slow. So, sure they could take down any other ship if they got a good hit but the chances of them being usable were low without having your carrier very close by.
For another, battleships and other such crafts could put up an effective AA screen against these slow moving craft and resist some bombing thanks to their damage control measures.
However as planes gained in these regards, very little could be done to close the gap on the side of battleships.
Also the fact that the air force and navy often got into a fight as to who should command these planes and so on. Either resulting in the navy not wanting to waste their budget to build a floating airbase for another branch or the navy having to fund the development of an additional kind of each plane, since the air force didn't need to worry about launching from carriers.
Add in the fact that many of the supporters on the aircraft side were, echoing a similar problem in the army, lower in rank and thus ignored or didn't get promoted specifically because they shared different beliefs from their superiors. This was part of the reason why WW 1 saw such terrible losses to the newest weapons, as the people who knew how to use them weren't able to contribute.
>>33952158
The only carrier that the US ever built that was kind of questionable was the first one, CV-1 Langley, which was a replenishment vessel that was repurposed into a carrier. The next two carriers, Lexington and Saratoga, were built on battlecruiser hulls, and they were very capable warships from the beginning.
>>33952158
>Why question is, what arguments were there in favor of battleships over carriers?
MUH STOPPIN POWAH
So the date that is looking best for the Sc meetup is June 10th does this work? it will be at Philson Crossroad range, and next week I will post a time and i will start a email list soon

Beaver dam shooting range maybe?
I'm leaning towards a PPK just for looks and conceilablility. Im also open to revolvers. Just not interested in anything composite. I have the itch for wood and steel.
>>33951913
So what should i get? Its also worth noting im a bit of a poorfag so lets keep it under $550 preferably
Okay, sure, that's fine.
Anything you pick will be particularly uncomfortable compared to lightweight polymer guns, but that's your call.
PPK is a great firepower to size ratio and snubnose wheelguns have been a staple of the industry for ages.
Just remember that any gun is better than no gun, and if you do eventually find it too uncomfortable to wear daily it's better to swallow your pride and get something more functional than aesthetic.
Is there a particular reason
>muh aesthetics
is at the top of your list for things you want out of a CCW gun?
You guys know how to make weapons out of household items?
Most any household items shoved up your opponent's anus can cause serious damage.
either faggot or atf? should kill self either way

What does /k/ think of Ruger lowers? Specifically, this one that was sitting in a LGS near me. Inb4 it's overpriced - I'm in California where we pay a premium on firearms, and for here, that's downright cheap. But is it a decent lower?
Also, what's the general consensus on AR lowers? What are good brands, and what are the ones to avoid?
Also inb4 "move out of California". Pic related is literally three blocks from the gun shop where I saw that lower. That's some good living, right there.
>>33951766
a lower is a lower is a lower. don't get billet, stick with milspec. that price is okay.
now build a cucked as fuck rifle begging for an end to all this.
is suggest monster man grips.
>>33951923
fuck tho staring at that pic, did the gun shop just take apart a ruger they had? it looks like it use to be a finished gun, and why would ruger just ssell a lower?
something is fucky.
