What was the worst quad-engine bomber of World War II and why was it the B24 Liberator?
The Lancaster would like to have a word with you mate.

fpbp
Probably the He-177
>>33954076
Literally four posts in, and you've lost the point of the question.
>>33954101
Not that anon but the He-177 has 4 engines and 2 propellars, so it is, indeed, a quad-engined bomber.
>>33954101
It has four engines. That's why it's so terrible.
Two are linked together and spin one shaft, leads to lots of overheating and fires while in flight.
It also had to be able to divebomb because Goering didn't understand just what a heavy bomber was for.
>implying

I loved flying these in IL-2. They felt so lightweight when the opposite was true. Plus the bombardier and navigator pretty much had a cabin to sit in.
>>33953735
oh fuck off, my grand dad was a navigator in a Lanc, it got him through the war in one piece
Probably the Short Stirling, it was retired from front line service in 1943.
The B-24 Liberator with its range helped close the Atlantic gap in anti U-boat operations at a critical time, and so it was a crucial war winning aircraft.

I bet he sucked some good dick too.
>>33954127
>>33954144
I stand corrected.
Yeah, that is a pants-on-head retarded concept then. I would get it if they were fuckhueg six or eight blade props that needed that much power to move, but damn that thing looks stupid underpowered.
>>33954758
>Worst
>WWII
You're a retarded nigger.
excluding the bat shit insane idea that is the He 177 I'm gonna say the Short Sterling is the worst over all four engine bomber of the war
>>33953631
>quad-engine
I guess I can't make fun of Italian """engineering""" in this thread?
>>33954379
yeah, me too
I used to set up missions with plenty of them and play as the tailgunner, fending off fiat 50 and hawks in finnish colors
>>33956942
>that will do, Luigui. That will do
Mitsubishi Ki-20
>>33956942
Mainly cuz theres very little to make fun of about italian aircraft engineering.
Yes for tanks, no for planes.
