Hi /ic/
I own a fair size collection of drawing books ranging from loomis to bammes to stuff i got from japan. I specifically want a folder that contains a scanned copy of every single of these books as a 700 width jpeg files, so i can look at it on my phone and it wont take up too much space.
Any idea how to go about doing this? I was considering taking a picture of every page individually.
>>2994267
Scan or photograph the pages, dump them on a personal cloud storage (Dropbox, Mega).
>>2994454
Scanning seems like it could take hours, and i think i might take pictures.
Do you know any tools that with automatically resive hundreds of photos at once?
>>2994455
Wouldn't be necessary if you only save the essential stuff or the practice guides/reads to the cloud.
As for the resizing job, I wouldn't know of such a tool. I'd however make the files into .png's It will take up more storage space, but at the same time won't deteriorate as when moving files over and over again.
You can however (if you're dedicated enough) take pictures and dump them all together in a .pdf document. For that, you'd need Word.

Can I win with my most recent piece?
The level of your art is high. You can't submit that piece because it doesn't fit the theme of the contest.

can i submit mine?
I like this style of art, what is it called?
Example 2
looks like an anime of some sort

It reminds me of Guillem March's work. Look him up if you liek it, its very similar.
I have a question, lads.
So i am about a C/C+ drawer on Charcoal, C/C1- in paper, but when i try to use a tablet i'm a fucking retard.
I've had the Wacom tablet for like 8 years, but i have to draw in paper and just use the tablet to color. I figure it's the tactile/physical feedback, by now i should be used by it, but i am just not. I need to see the pen touching the paper instead of starring at screen.
Would buying a tablet screen be worth it or what?
Pic related, it's what i have.
>>3000846
do americans really do this?
Download some custom brushes and play with it for a while until you get used to it
Assuming you're being serious, that tablet is meant for taking signatures, not drawing. Upgrading to at least a medium-size tablet will help.
That said, a good screen tablet is nice, still not as good as paper, but much closer. It won't make your drawings better but IME it should make you faster and more comfortable. If you can afford it, go for it.
Hey d/ic/ks, if you have anti pirating morals, Clip Studio Paint Pro is on sale for $25
Nigga get EX; the animation timeline is the best one you're going to get in a (stable) raster drawing program.
(sorry Krita)
It still sucks balls having to have layers tied to frames though.
This is like the 3rd thread you've made about this in 2 days. Do you work for them or something? Go viral elsewhere.
>>3000129
shit sorry, I didn't see any posts on it with a quick glance at the catalog. I knew some people like this program (I'm more of a Sai person due to my shit computer) so I threw it up here.
Or should I go to /lit/?
I wrote the question as my name instead of subject
>>2999188
probably should go to /lit/, you can't really even talk about art here , just drawing
>>2999188
generally I say fuck off to /lit/ but that article is interesting as fuck
If you are a /beg/inner in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
OLD THREAD: >>2995969
Do you guys listen to music while working?
Only to get psyched up for a statement, I don't listen while I'm drawing because that is its own thing, with its own sensatory demands.
>>2993384
Yeah, not actively though. Boards of Canada is a go to for me, accompanies drawing well
I listen to audiobooks, which is even "worse"
hello guys, I have never been comment anything on 4chan for years but now I really need some advices. I am an art student and studied in school for almost 2 years ( just half more year and the school will finished ), this is when my problem come, I can't focus on classes anymore, I want to draw so many things but the homeworks from school has filled all my time...
I feel myself have learned enough to start doing my ideas so I quit school. I want to spend the rest of this year to do my ideas and through that I will complete my own portfolio ( I want to be a cartoon or illustration artist ) but in the mean time, I feel so lonely, just staying home and draw, I miss my friends, I don't have anybody to talk with. Can you guys please give my some advices ? What should I do now ?
This painting is a work in my project, mixing medival warriors with an animal suit with their personality and give them some humor too. You can check out the rest of my project here ( not done yet, I will keep updating through time ): http://gipsob1234.deviantart.com/gallery/62940153/For-Honor-project
p/s: Sorry for my clumsy English, It not my language.

Some people might be really mean in this thread but I'll be honest since you seem pure of heart and not a shitposter
I like your art. I think it's passable. Just keep doing what you love my dude
Also I'll be your friend. Unless you are shitposting and I'm a fool
>>3000742
You appear to be doing quite well, so keep drawing and practicing as you have been. Your friends probably miss you too so you should visit them once in a while, man.
>>3000742
I would say just don't fall for the 16 hour a day meme, understand what you need to work on and work on it in increments, don't try to force to much studying at once or you will feel frustrated.
Keep structure to your day and have another hobby, even if it's gaming, just to unwind and to take your mind off drawing for a while. Do you need to work to support yourself or living with your folks?
>>3000759
This guy is right, make sure you see your friends, friends and family are imperative to mental well being even for the most introverted person. If you are living away from home, call your friends on skype often and try to make new friends with same interests as you, life drawing classes are a good place to meet other aspiring artists.
Also I like your work I think you have potential, keep at it.
How can I start to do this? Is there any kind of guide?
>>3000000
nice thread btw its interesting.

This is actually a pretty interesting medium. I might ask around in the hospital I worked in as a teenager if they have petri dishes lying around. Or, what the fuck, you can basically just buy them and put different kinds of organic stuff on there. Literally everything has bacteria. Although you'd probably get a more mixed image then. The photos look like someone used cultures of different bacteria incubated beforehand.
t. someone who draws abstract cell images
Attempting to do backgrounds and landscape painting (digital), I can't get it to look right. here's an early wip of my latest attempt, about an hour of work. I'm using Clip Studio.

Go to /beg/ (beginner thread) when asking for critique. Thanks.
What's the best site to upload your somewhat good quality comic and get a fair share of revenue and still fell in control of your creation?
I thought I'd go for Webtoons, but that site is mostly for paint-like level shit and Manhwa shit.
I also thought going for Tapastic, but /co/ told me it's dead.
>Start your own site
I'll do it eventually, but for for now I just a site, preferentially big one with a huge amount of users.
Any options /ic/?
taptastic is dead??
>>2997935
I'm still just starting to learn how to draw here, but isn't there something off with her left hand?
>>2997935
>somewhat good quality comic
sorry, anon, but if that's your art, then you are delusional.
I got serious about art 2 years ago. The first year was great, I was drawing every day, i was learning new things, it was just a really great experience. It was also the first time I started sharing my work online so every comment I got made me really happy. Now, it's like I dunno. I mean, I wouldn't say it's boring but I just don't seem to have the "fire" that I once had, ya know.
It's probably because you don't have an overall goal for your art. Personally, I draw exclusively for fun. I have fun, I continue drawing. If you aren't having as much fun, maybe you could take a break from it for a bit? Maybe think of some bigger projects to draw. That's what I do once I start getting bored.
Start a passion project based on what you want to do with art.
Say you want to be an environment artist give yourself a project where you're to create maybe 10 fully finished environment pieces.
Also what the first poster said with the goal thing, make your end goal clear, and even your short term goals.

A few years ago I posted on /ic/ about getting a portfolio review from an art college. The critiques really made me see my art in a new way, because they weren't harsh, but gave me direction.
Maybe you should have your art looked at by someone that can give you direction too?
There are so many threads right now about giving up. How about we have an inspiration thread where we post some artist interviews/documentaries to breathe some hope into /ic/?
I'll start with the Attack on Titan creator. He was rejected multiple times because of his bad art until someone took a chance on him.

>>2997723
confession: I've always liked the manga art for attack on titan over the objectively better anime. People look at me like Im crazy when I say that and I get that but the style he has strikes me really hard and I don't get the same vibe off the anime.
>>2998254
his art has always been crap but isayama does have a good feel for how to make manga.
