Anyone else dabbling in pixel art?
Seems indie developers are willing to pay through the nose, and the time investment is minimal.
>>2986720
i would be interested to dapple in it. go on.. exlpain me everything you know about it please.
>>2986724
It's really just digital painting, blocking out colors and highlights on a small scale with no AA and then adding some AA by hand, it actually takes less time than digital painting and people pay way more at low to moderate skill level than any other digital artist might make.
>>2986724
I got paid $48 for this peice. No animation.
Not joking.
Took 1 hour.
So what is /ic/'s opinion on the prodigal son?
They're memed as hard as moleskine, but they're actually decent. Not worth $24 for a box of 12 when you can get better pencils for way less, though. Worth grabbing a few to try if you find a place that sells them individually.
>>2996442
I had to learn not to press down too hard. That waxy shit does not erase well. But other than that? Yeah, great lines. sharpened tip lasts long time. I prefer regular pencils for shading in by the side of the tip. This one does not fill evenly. You may not like everything about its performance but that gold fuking phillips flathead eraser cap makes you want to put it in your EDC
It converted me to the pencil cult
I don't think I'm bad at drawing considering I've never practiced, and I only do it once or twice a year for hobby. So I've been wondering if I should start practicing and get something out of this undeveloped skill of mine.
But before wasting another second on this, I'd like to ask, what kind of job will I even get if I git gud? How much money can I expect from being a drawfag? Does someone here make a living out of this? As in, being able to go out for dinner, spend in clothes, gaming, etc, and not just being able to pay their bills.
If you could help me decide if I should dedicate my life to this I'd really appreciate it.
ngmi if you have to ask. ngmi if you think you can make a living off of selling degenerate furry porn on patreon. ngmi if you're not doing it because you like it.
You can get any kind of job if you're good, it all depends on what you want to do. You'll need to be more specific or else it'll be hard fetched to get a job. Illustrator, painter, graphic artist, designer, there's so many things.
Also, source on the cutie?
>>2995883
I do draw when I can because I like it and enjoy it, but I've been telling myself I shouldn't spend time on it because I've personally haven't made anyone who has made it by only drawing. All my impressions of dedicating to the arts is that I'll die starving.
>>2995884
But are art-related jobs well paid? I'd like to illustrate or do posters like pic related.
Btw sadly I don't have the source, but I got her from an asian girls page on normiebook
Is there any merit to this kind of drawing instruction? You basically draw lines from point to point, sequentially
>>2995940
connect-the-dots is not drawing instruction, it's a fucking kid's puzzle.
>>2995940
>drawing instruction
oh man, this is fucking great
IT'S PIKACHU
Okay /ic/, I need your opinion. So, ever since I was a little kid, I couldn't draw to save my life. All my "paintings" were pure fucking cancer. Lately however I've been thinking of trying to learn drawing. So, I decided to draw Slick from Sinfest. I drew it on psykopaint, using the worst fucking mouse in the world. I had to fucking bang it against my desk just to get it to work a few times. I know it's terrible, but do I have even a glimmer of hope of becoming decent?
Pic related, it's my drawing.
>>2995137
How about instead of using mouse you buy a draw tablet.or if you poor be like me and just buy a paper and pencil.having a right tool is a start of becoming decent.after that you fired some google (or firefox if you a /g/) and searched for "how to draw for beginner" and click enter.from there you choose which one would suit you the most. And sit with your tab or your paper and draw. Use lot of reference. Try to make a lot of shape. And use a lot of reference.
If you are serious, and I really am unable to do well, then I must be a retard.
In other words, there is no way I can improve apparently since I have such a low IQ and I can't improve.
Heres the thing, I've bought drawing books, I've done exercises, I have put in the work to improve.
And if you are telling me that these drawings from this thread is complete and utter shit, then I can say this freely.
I can not improve, I can not get better at art. I am physically incapable of doing well.
Now I'm not a retard, but I guess art is just not for me.
TLDR, turns out some people can't improve.
And I'm living proof of that.
>TFW been drawing for several years trying to get gud.
>>2993312
>Thread where realization came through.
Get your favorite actress/actor or something and try drawing her face all day for a week straight, no excuses. You should improve like never before.
I dare you won't, I double dare you.
>"I fear not the man who trained a thousand kicks, but the man who trained the same kick a thousand times." - a fucking actor
>>2993430
>down phase
Does six years of drawing count?????
Does practicing for so long that your soul crushes to the point that you aren't even alive anymore live up to that point???
I just want to validate myself that I can't improve, just tell me that I can't do it. So I can be free.
And this is how you will tell me.

Was this genius or what?
>>2993148
Unless he was the first one to do this whole negative aspects of life personified and posed as a threat thing, then no, he's an unoriginal retard.
But if he did invent it, he's a genius
Not enough drama in the final image. He doesn't end well.
He's making more money than me making comics so either he's a lot smarter than me or a lot luckier, the difference doesn't matter.
Show us your style
nice try
too bad these types of request threads have been done three times before

C-cute!
how do you get commissions?
I must be a complete retard since I don't get any and I need the money, but I don't wanna write a sob story. I have published my prices and examples on dA, tumblr, twitter, artistnclients and reddit but nothing, In case you're wondering my art is not low level, instead I always get praises, also my prices aren't that high ($10-$40) so what I am doing wrong
>>2978798
sorry for venting, I am a bit disappointed and frustrated
>>2978803
chibis: $10
headshot: $15
bust: $15
waist up: $30 and full body $40
all in anime full colored style, I deliver it less than one week or two.
And I posted on hungryartists.
I believe I don't have a big following and neither I am popular not matter what I do
WHY THE FUCK IS THIS THING SO FUCKING HARD TO ORDER? WHY IS IT ONLY SCAM SITES SELLING THIS?
Just order the figma version on amazon

ebay?

>not designing and 3D printing your own shitty knockoff
got lots of ref from here for weapons, humans, cloths, animals, backgrounds but none for random objects and tools
can we have a thread dedicated to just this?
I feel like drawing some random objects, but found none in my ref folder, I even had to google for 5 min for pic related. I got tired of drawing floating people in nice backgrounds but holding cubs and spheres
it can be anything, from multiple angles is even better, sites links and books are welcome too
A perfect opportunity to do still life drawings/paintings. Kinda forgot you had junk around the house now eh?
>>2995013
doing 1/2 - 5 hours per object in a still life is a waste of time, I want to draw thousand of objects in a short time, just lineart
I don't want to waste 5 min to search for a object and draw it for 2 min
I'm wondering if there's any manga/art style that matches ShindoL's character design, or at least anyone that is near similar. Pic relevant
>>2995934
His female designs resemble Ishiwatari's newer stuff slightly. Which I think means Ishiwatari's been reading ShindoL smut.
>>2995934
dont remind me of this god forsaken comic anon
>>2995981
It has a good end right? It doesn't look like anything bad will happen right?

How do you guys feel about the fact that art will be one of the first things that is automated by machinelearning?
There are already neuronal nets that turn sketches into photorealistic images
(like www.affinelayer.com/pixsrv )
pretty sick style-transfer nets and even nn that make their own sketches.
Give it 10 or 20 years and nuronal nets trained on the best artists of the world will churn out great art indistinguishable from what you guys are producing here.
oh no D: !!
