Wtf
A thread in which we post a drawing and try to figure out what exactly was the inspiration for this particular design.
It can be anything, piece of armor, vehicle, anatomy, mechanism or architecture.
When interpreting, preferably you trace it back to something existing in RL since most things took their origin there.
For example, what was the inspiration for their armors?
Some things from Blame! I can trace back pretty well but some are a mistery.
Is there something in RL that could work as an inspiration?
Guess I have to read Blame now.

How to get away with plagiarism?

by changing it a bunch, and making the character distinctly recognizable.
a cyborg ninja is a very common concept.
you can easily distinguish Genji from Gray Fox, or raiden.

Who is the most beautiful woman in all of art?
>>3017834
I like this one a lot
Any painting featuring women of this caliber.
I wish I'd know the specific ethnicity.
>>3017834
It me, I'm the most beautiful
You do realise that to "make it" all you need to really do is learn to apply brushes and sprays to create a kinda sorta paint look to your work and idiots who have never drawn a day in their life will think it took actual effort and skill, right?
do it then
>>3029112
Elitist noobs like you always greatly underestimate the ability of regular non-artist people to tell apart good art from shit art. Yes, most of them will not criticize your work and just give you a hollow compliment and move on with their day, but that isn't because they don't see anything wrong with it, but because they do not care about your art one way or another. Your art has no influence on anything they care about, so they just default to being nice about it.
Rest assured though, if your shit art would actually come into contact with anything they cared about, like a comic book whose art they previously really liked, terrible art direction in a video game or a movie or whatever have you, they would be extremely critical and vocal about it.
>you realize that to make it all you need to do is learn things and then apply them
Can you suggest some premium PAID tutorials for photoshop painting? Not beginner stuff. I'm finding it extremely difficult to find decent content that isn't just garbage. The closest I've managed to find is some videos by this guy~ but there is no audio so he doesn't explain what he's doing/why he's doing it.
Fantasy art preferred, although not necessary. Price is not an issue, thanks
You sure sound like a beginner tho.
>>3029011
Irrelevant, doesn't matter what my personal skill level is, I'm still after premium tutorials by the best
really nothing? ;_;
>read loomis
>do exercises
>nothing changes

Keys to Drawing, Loomis, and Draw a Box are the /ic/ holy trinity of go fuck yourself newfags.
Grinding just one won't get you that far. You should tackle Keys to Drawing first while grinding on Drawabox lesson 1-2 exercises. That'll teach you basic fundamentals. Then Loomis demonstrates rudimentary construction and anatomy. Then you grind for a few months on whatever things you wanna git gudder at drawing. THEN you're finally alright at art and can actually start seeing progress and results. Continue practicing for another 6 months and in a year you'll be good at drawing.
The first push is the hardest, it really is just establishing a routine and sticking with it.
Have any of you done something like this? Is it worth it despite being only 4 weeks. I cant take a longer one because I have to go to school in the fall but I figured it'd be good to take two things like this between now and August and attend my figure drawing studio. Any thoughts?

Looks interesting. Haven't tried anything like it so I dunno.
depends what you want, if you want to do concept art / anime / illustration like most of this board then it isn't the best use of your time
New Huion 1060 PLUS - 82€
Wacom Intuos draw - 70€
Just for Photoshop, Illustrator and some Krita, thoughts?
I have the first potato in that drawing.
...I shouldn't call it a potato. It does exactly what I want it to do: Lets me draw digitally. Of course I'm not a professional. I'm a hobbyist animator trying to get a show off the ground. And it works for what I need it to do.
If you're doing exponentially more difficult, professional work... Probably not the best tools for you? But if you're an intermediate artist who doesn't need every tool at his disposal immediately, the Wacom is good. And it's not as small as the /ic/ fags make it out to be.
Tl;dr: Good beginner-intermediate, simple tools.
I've only used Huion so far but it does its job just fine
Probably one of my favorite pieces that I've done. It's a few years old.
I probably need work on shading, but I just adore it.

Nice touch on having the font behind the horses.
another crit please?
>spend more time on /ic/ shitposting and collecting resources than actually drawing
how do you guys do it?
Draw while shitposting.
>>3020839
I print out my references, go to the library and draw for 2-3 hours before classes start in the evening. I'd say it's pretty fucking effective given the short amount of time spent.
>>3020836
Cut your time you spend with smartphone, computer etc. digital art is cancer in my opinion.
Try out pic related.
