Made this sketch. Should I fix anything before the line work? (Yeah I know I should use the pencil brush but the pen brush is more easy to look at for me if you understand what I'm saying)

Definitely.
Nobody needs PS. CSP offers everything you need to be a digital artist.

I just got clip studio last week. Its definitely worth it.
Less bulky than photoshop with more useful features for drawing and painting.

This alone made it worth it for me.

You get good at doing what you do a lot of. If you only do quick sketches you will get good at doing quick sketches. Things are connected in art so your finished work will improve a little too, but to get good finished work you need to actually, you know, finish work.

Print this out as a reference, go into a tattoo shop, tell the qualified, licensed tattooist exactly what you want, and he will do it for you.

You need to learn the fundamentals to photobash correctly.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is suffering from technophobia:
>"People fear things they depend on but don’t have any control over. That’s technology."

The keyword is control. You need to control the software and not let it control you.

People here often talk about techniques for drawing, rendering, etc. but no one ever talks about how they think of what to draw in the first place. Now I'd say that I am a decent artist but what I struggle with the most isn't perspective or anatomy, it's good ideas. I feel like my idea generation very amateurish. I just think of a character, like a wizard, a pose, an angle and that's pretty much it. I don't think about the enviroment, the atmosphere, the details until much later which often leads to a very disjointed drawing.
So I'd like to ask, what is your thought process when you decide to start a new project? What is YOUR way of coming up with new ideas?

Record your screen while paying the video? School ism achieved their goals for their kickstarter though, soon everyone will have access to their course for just 10 bucks a month, and 1 dollar fee for changing around courses.
>>
>>3033033
my point was to watch them on the subway too.
>>
>>3033040
Record episodes while you sleep, play them on the subway. If that's not good enough, then all I can offer is a bump.

Whenever I try to study or analyze the artists I look up to, it seems like I compare what i drew to theirs and can;t help but think they;ve been doing this for decades and I've barely scratched the surface so I can't help but see the differences in skill. At the same time it seems like an excuse and I can't help but get frustrated as to why my drawings don't look like theirs.

ok cool thanks for sharing
>>
>>3031612
you do not have their experience so don't beat yourself over the fact you can't draw from imagination like they do, but if you need a short term goal in your path to mastery you could first focus on being able to copy the shapes they drew

after you can copy any kind of shape you want, you then can start focusing on choosing what shapes to remember and what not, which will be your new short term goal after achieving the first one

and after you can draw the shapes you chosed, but from memory this time, you can draw from imagination like your favorite artist thought your own filter (what shapes you picked and what not). From here on you can focus on coming up with your own shapes which you see around you or choose a second artist to do the same. And so on and so on until you die.
>>
>>3031612
So? Obviously you need to study your fundamentals more. If you can survive mastering that you can handle real art and get real gains.

>get relatively cheap Cintiq 12WX from coworker
>has jitter when display is on
>remove video
>suddenly works perfectly, if only transformed into an oversized Intuos that requires a power block

Think this could have anything to do with poor shielding? Would suck to not be able to use this thing the way it was meant to be used.

Is it an early table model? If yes that's probably the reason, most companies fucked up with em shielding on their prototypes.
>>
>>3031132
I'm probably gonna have to fix it myself, otherwise I'll most likely sell it for parts eventually and get something more adequate for my workspace.
>>
>>3031146
Sell that piece of shit, there are still enough people used to them for working years with them and probaly looking for a replacement for their broken ones. I cant comprehend how shit this thing turend out when i got it years ago. You like colors? All colors are off, yellow/orange is just plain wrong! You like to draw? Enjoy your lag, pen tip can easily be off one inch! Oh, and the screen is like 5mm behind the glas, enjoy having the pentip always off if you even dare to tilt your head. See that cable attached to it? Cant be replaced without opening it and soldering, and you have to since it will get wonky over time! Seriously, you can bet the green color is the first one breaking, fixed mine and after some time i fixed 3-4 for others because of the exact same problem and wacom would take fortune to repair it (like 200+$). It made me extra mad seeing X60/61t Thinkpads having 4:3 IPS screens that where wacom penable, that you could get for almost the same money used, while having non of the issues screen- and responsewise, if the screens would have had been sold seperatly, i would bought one without flinching, IBM managed to make a better cintiq then Wacom even without the intention.

Getting a cintiq seems way out of hand budget wise, and I can hardly say that I'm even good at all.

What are your thoughts?
