If you have a 5 year old CPU right now and you upgrade, your single core performance will only increase in real world applications by about 10-20%. If you buy AMD, even less.
You wont even feel this increase, why waste your money on it?

Leading into and out the back of 7900x, it appears there is a 300-400Mhz drop in clock speed per (+2) increase. No mention of what occurs to the mesh interconnect clock speed as they scale cores. Also, there is a non-uninform communication penalty depending on which core is communicate with another. Did intel think they could wire-up and scale complex CPU cores like simplistic CUDA cores? Did they fall for the spatial-computing meme?
I think this about wraps it up.
Look for intel switching to MCM down the road.

Where do you backup your data? I have about 200GB of photos that I want to make 100% to not lose someday. I have them on a external drive but who knows if and how long they last. So I thought about another way. Dropbox seems good but it costs a lot to upgrade for more space. Any other alternatives?

What is the best Firefox alternative that has good ad blocker extension?
I've used Firefox about 10 years now. I've endured all the changes and fuck ups they have made. I've endured all the SJW bullshit they have made. I've thought that it's always better than being part of the botnet.
Now Firefox 57 is just too much... I can't take it anymore. All extensions stop working, new retarded UI and animations (Photon) and more SJW bullshit. And on top of that they started the Google Ads data mining stuff...
