I fell for the Computer Science meme and after graduating I can't get any job offers. Been sending out applications to places all over, started focusing a bit on NYC more lately but still only have gotten one interview so far. Can I expect to get an entry level job anywhere with this experience that isn't McDonald's? I've also tried some of those remote contracting sites before but I only ended up getting people asking me to work for free. The interview I got kept asking about dumb JS frameworks like Angular, should I start learning those to put on here?
>>61524520
My first impression was that something on your CV was off. You wrote a trading system for a MMORPG but put on your CV that you used the gmail API? Also why are there no names for the volunteer positions?
You CV seems good for entry level, maybe you're just unlucky.

It's the other way around. I use GNU/Linux because I'm intelligent.
>When svchost.exe uses 100% of your disk I/O, making your computer completely unresponsive so you have totaskkill /fit AGAIN.
After spending the past few years almost exclusively on GNU/Linux I wonder how the fuck do winfags deal with this constant stream of bullshit. Are they masochists?
Most of them are too retarded to understand what an OS -is- let alone switch to Linux. Even most MSP employees are completely incapable of using a Linux or unix shell.
No we just don't use potato computers. Windows is generally run either on higher end PCs or PCs with decent processors.
Post in another thread said it best. People just hate change and will conform to an arbitrary standard to make their lives easier.

Take care OCing people, high temps and current draws aren't harmless and the specification limits in cpu/motherboard infrastructure aren't just for fun.

>>61523923
I tnkink debian stable is pretty stable and old, testing is in testing
and unstable is unstable
stable for servers
testing for desktops
unstable for arch refugees who need a hundred mb of updates every day for meaning in their lives

Why to people bother mining? Is it really profitable enough to do that instead of just working a normal job in the tech field?
Also, electricity aside, what does it cost to run an average mining setup?
Also, do you think people that mine care or have any remorse for the rise in graphics card prices?
I have absolutely no desire to mine digital currency I'm just pissed of at graphics card prices and genuinely interested.
No. Any other questions?
Not unless you have some sort of government job with an absentee boss and you can run all your rigs on taxpayer funded power

>Why to people bother mining? Is it really profitable enough to do that instead of just working a normal job in the tech field?
Yes, if you know what to mine.
>Also, electricity aside, what does it cost to run an average mining setup?
Gpus are the only components that makes money. And ideally you want enough that it'll help offset the rest of the components.
>Also, do you think people that mine care or have any remorse for the rise in graphics card prices?
Why would they?
R3 1300X is expected to cost $120-130. i5-7500 has an MSRP of $190-$200. And keep in mind, this is at stock. Ryzen 3 can OC and do even better.

Ryzen 3 1200 is expected to cost $100-$110. Currently the cheapest you can buy the G4560 for is $80. Again, keep in mind that you can OC the Ryzen 3 CPU.

i3-7350K is an absolute joke. $170-$180 for an OC-able dual core, lol. Nobody even bought that shit, and for good reason.
I went to Schiit Audio's Schiitr location yesterday, and I purchased a Magni 2/Modi 2 stack. However, I seemed to have bought the Multibit version of the Modi 2, and I was wondering /g/'s opinion on if I should I return it and get the Modi 2/Uber versions instead? I'm using this stack with a pair of HD598s, and I intend to upgrade to a pair of HD600s soon.
Thoughts/opinions?

keep the multibit.
>>61522735
Use your PC/Laptop as the DAC and see if you think it's worth the money. Also keep in mind the modi multibit should be running for 24 hours before judging the sound.

Hi

Found this website, but can't find an english version. Some prices are pretty good but it looks fishy.
Any of you know about it?
HELP me /g/
How do I buy from taobao?
My needs: C2D cpu + DDR3 sodimm 2 x4gb + SSD to upgrade a thinkpad.
I found the cpu, but don't know how to order, also cheap ssd, and any other parts to pimp my thinkpad reccomedations welcome. I'm a poor tardo, so spoonfeed me please.
Or do I need to dl a special software if I want a good protection ?
The easiest way to encrypt a file is by opening it with an editor of your choice and add a random character at the start of the file. Attackers will think the file is corrupted and ignore it.
>>61523226
That's not encryption, that's obfuscation.
winrar is fine, because it uses aes 256 cbc with a salted KDF, but if you want to avoid using headers (make it look like it isn't even a rar file), you can use openssl on a NON-ENCRYPTED rar file. do not double encrypt. EVER.
here's how you do it
openssl aes-256-cbc -in your-unencrypted-file.rar -out your-file.bin
to get it back:
opensssl aes-256-cbc -d -in your-file.bin -out your-unencrypted-file.rar
