When talking about looks, can hard work and dedication to improve oneself ever beat genetics?

Is it possible for an average looking guy to lift, groom, eat healthy and take care of his skin enough that he becomes more attractive in the eyes of women than a guy like pic related or should one accept that some people are simply genetically superior and there's nothing that you can do about it?

I'm bored. Here are some things I've learned.

1: Hide your contempt and hate for fat people. Keep it to 4chan.

2: Hide your power level when it comes to working out and fitness. "Oh yeah, I workout a few times a week. Makes me feel good". Never discuss the amount of effort you put into your body unless it's with another serious lifter.

3: Drink beer with your friends and let loose every once in a while. People will assume you think you're better than them or vain if you don't want to drink because of your gains. Boring too. If you absolutely don't want to drink, say alcoholism runs in your family or somethign like that.

4: When people ask you for advice about lifting/being in shape act humble and show interest in them. You don't actually have to give them real, tangible advice because they'll forget it. However, they won't forget that you tried to help and seemed to care. "Be consistent, that's the most important thing. it takes time but you can do it" Something generic like that goes a long way and will make them feel good.

5: Don't show off your body, everyone will think you're a douche. Flexing your biceps and posing is laughable. If you have a good physique people will know.

6: If someone offers you food, accept it. It will make them feel good. Eat the 500 calorie brownie your aunt made and tell her it was delicious.

7: You probably have muscle dysmorphia. Remember that guy you used to think was big?

8: Girls don't really care about your physique or strength that much. Guys will however.

9: Having a social life will make you way more happier than gymceling. Don't blow people off for the gym, you'll regret it when you're older.

10: Squat plugs work and are a great way to improve one's strength.

Some quick info for beginners

>#1: Read the Sticky

>If you are just getting started, a proven and popular program is always going to be better than something you came up with, save yourself the time and headaches
>If you still don't know what to do, SS, SL, Reg Park's, ICF or any Linear Progression Strenght program based on the big 3 lifts will be ok

>Wanna get into Powerlifting? Canditoe's 12 week program is your best bet
>Want some more aesthetics? Look into Greyskull LP, it's a template you can customize, the book's pdf is pretty easy to get. Pic related is a popular version

>Bodyweight exercises, while not the best for muscle gain, are a good gauge to know if you're gaining too much fat too quickly. If your Rows and DL are progressing but your pullups are laggin behind, chances are you gotta cut back on the milk and oats

>Unless you're pretty advanced, Cut/Bulk is not really needed, just stay at a sensible bf%, eat healthy food you're gonna be ok

>"Cardio kills gains" is a meme, if you want to be healthy you need your cardiovascular system in check. Just lifting weights is not enough
>Low intensity cardio is not the best but it's better than nothing, lifting & being able to run 5k is better than just lifting weights and sitting on your ass all day
>HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is the best both for cardiovascular health and weight loss purposes. Do that if you dont have time to run for 20 minutes

>You SHOULD be stretching right now. Make it a habit. Mobility/Flexibility is really important both for gains and lift safety
>Starting Stretching is a good place to start
>10 mins of stretching twice a day, morning and evening, or just once if you dont have the time
>Do not static stretch before lifting, stretching cold muscles makes you more prone to injury and somewhat hinders you strenght (albeit not to a great extent)

Don't do brosplits. Your muscles take approximately 48 hours to regenerate after a workout. Training them once a week is a loss of potential gains, also those routines are filled with volume, due to them being 1 or 2 muscle groups per day, so strenght gains are non-existent.

This is the routine I'm currently on.
I started out 1.5yrs ago with SS, went on to GSLP and then PHUL. Finally settled on this ULPP (Upper Lower Push Pull).
This is a good routine if you dont wanna completely forget legs but also dont want to train them twice a week.

Bench press 105 (got it)
Dip 42.5 (80% there)
Overhead press 67.5 (almost there)
Pullup 25 (got it)
Pendlay row 85 (got it)

5km in 25m (currently 30)

12% bf (currently 18%)

It gives me a very decent strength score and perfect symmetry. Once i hit 5x5 I'll just add more reps with the same weight to avoid snapcity
