Hello /fit/
I've started following Learn To Run 10k (http://www.vancouversun.com/pdf/sunrun_it_insert.pdf) and I've just completed week 3, however each time I do a run, I get shin splints. On my rest days, I can't really pick up my pace a little because it hurts, but when it's time for my next run they've pretty much healed, only to come back when I do my next run.
Do runners of /fit/ have any preventative measures for shin splints? I stretch my calves and shins and that helps, but I'm wondering if more experienced runners have any suggestions.
Also, Running General
>>42000631
What do you run on? Concrete?
>>42000722
There's a padded rubber track a block away from me, so no. I haven't run seriously since high school 8 years ago, so that might be part of the problem.
soccer, track, cross country, etc my whole life and I've never had shin splints
how is your form? if you don't take full strides, but rather "pound" your feet into the ground halfway through strides, I could see that being a problem
each step should be a step, not a stop
but otherwise I donno
are you fat?

According to you, who is the peak of male aesthetics?
Who have it all?
For me is:
Dolph Lundgren for bone structure, frame and body.
Zyzz for frame, muscles insertions and body.
Gandy for everything, insertions, face, neck, thick wrist, small waist, big frame, bone structure, bodyfat, body, skin, eye color, hair color and face.
the only correct answer is:
"i am"
everybody who says somethink else is a insecure cuck
to answer your question who is the perfection of male aesthetic, i am.
Also
Dolph Lundgren 6'5 - 196 cm
Zyzz 6'1 187 cm
David Gandy 6'4 194 cm

I was shaking like a motherfucker on my last one today. I hit 90 lbs. Third week of SS. Somehow that 90 lbs is more challenging than the 250 lb deadlift I did afterward.
Baby weights, but I'm still proud of my progress.

man even as a (former) fat guy I couldn't stomach mayonnaise by itself. You've have to be mentally deranged to eat that straight shit from the jar.
Wouldn't it be fun eating yogurt out of a mayonnaise jug in public? Especially if you're ripped, dumb people will think it's the secret to gains.

I DON'T WANT TO THROW UP!!
HOW DO I INTO SELF CONTROL
Can someone help me cause I'm really doubting about the following food items:
- Dairy -
In a way I can understand how we "are not meant to drink substance for baby cows"
On the other hand I can also see how this fluid might be nutritious cause it's meant to grow babies. We are omnivores ... right?
- Meat -
I understand that meat is produced in cruel ways. Tho I also understand that the hunters of the ancient times grew big and strong on their catch. You probably can't really compare the meats from back then to the meats from now but yeah. This makes me doubt the meat
- Bread -
I never really liked bread and if you look at what it's made of ( ground up grass seeds ) it makes perfect sense to not eat it. Then again a nice slice of brown bread goes well with almost everything
- Oils -
I used to consume a teaspoon of coconut oil a day but I'm starting to doubt this practise.
Pressed oils could be considered processed food. What do ?
As you can see I have some concerns with these food items.
I'm trying to limit them as much as I can. Tho without a lot of Dairy, Meat, Bread and Oils is damn hard to get a calorie surplus. I like to gain some muscle, But even more important is that I want to be healthy.
So, can anyone redpill me on Dairy, meat, bread or oils?

Unless the argument has a sourced basis in biology, it can fuck off back to energetic healing land. It doesn't matter, as long as you have the enzymes to digest it and it doesn't give you acne.
>I understand that meat is produced in cruel ways. Tho I also understand that the hunters of the ancient times grew big and strong on their catch. You probably can't really compare the meats from back then to the meats from now but yeah. This makes me doubt the meat
This is retarded.
>I used to consume a teaspoon of coconut oil a day but I'm starting to doubt this practise.
>Pressed oils could be considered processed food. What do ?
You are retarded.
>>42007553
>dairy
You don't really need it but why deprive yourself of a food source just because it's comes from a cow? People have been eating dairy products from multiple animals for fucking ever. If your can properly digest it with no adverse effects then go for it
>meat
I don't really know what exactly your concern is, but if you're concerned about animal cruelty there are resources to find local farms and ranches that raise and ship real free range meat.
>bread
Your idea about bread is stupid but you don't really need it if you don't want to eat it
>oils
You literally need fats in your diet to fucking function properly.

it's just for corpulent, shit stinking slobs who want to pretend they can actually move big boy weight.
I'm 5'10" and 60kg (132 lb). Yes, I'm scrawny as fuck
So would it be better for me to take a mass gainer instead of a protein powder?
Also can someone explain how this shit works? Because I always thought that all weight you put on is either muscle (from protein) or fat (from excess energy - measured in calories - that you don't expend). So does that mean a mass gainer is just adding fat as well as muscle?
Or I did read that apparently having more carbs available helps you put on muscle. Or something. Is that how mass gainers work then? You need a certain amount of carbs not just for your energy but also to help your muscles grow or something? Is that right? Carbs being needed to help muscle growth? That's what I just read about mass gainers, but I never heard that before. I thought you just needed protein for your muscles.
Eat big, son.
>>42007290
Just eat a fucking pizza
Jesus christ, gaining weight is not hard.
>>42007290
You gain weight by having a calorie surplus. Whether that weight is muscle or fat is dependent on activity (are lifting weights and pushing yourself?), the size of your surplus (are you eating 6,000 kcal like a fat faggot?), and also your macro ratios (are you eating only 30 grams of protein and 500 grams of sugar?).
Eat a 500 kcal surplus. Eat 0.8-1.0 grams of protein per pound of body weight. This is literally all that fucking matters. It can be whey, mass gainer, chicken and rice, or dog turds. All that fucking matters is the surplus, the protein, and the fact you are lifting weights appropriately.
