I don't work on Mondays so am currently drunk on Miller Genuine Draft and a fresh unopened bottle of new Amsterdam vodka(yeah yeah cheap shit IDC). It's only 3 pm. Haven't eaten yet. Just ate a whole pizza yesterday night "but it was Papa John's pizza". What should I go grab to eat? Just got paid as well.

I was thinking about picking an 8 piece "fried" chicken from Cub foods(am from Midwest). Every Monday they do a promo $5.99 for 8 piece "fried" chicken. I quote fried as it's all baked when you buy the 8 piece. If you buy by the piece that is when they'll give you the fried chicken.

You should stop being a degenerate loser and focus on ways to improve your life. Go to your local library and read some literature instead of drinking and eating junk.

Help me love vegetables, /ck/

Don't overcook them. No mush. Try sautéeing them. Steaming them. But some seasonings.

I love steamed broccoli, sautéed mushrooms and onions, baked zucchini/squash, etc. Love me some Brussels sprouts with a little char on 'em.

What are some meals you like or ways you like your meat cooked? We can work out good veggie pairings. Proud of you for trying to incorporate veggies into your diet in a delicious way.

Much appreciated. I recently visited some friends in Spain and mutiple times we ate some amazing mixes of grilled/oiled vegetables on bread and that convinced me I was doing everything wrong.

Normally I eat a lot of fish (salmon, tuna, monkfish) oven grilled and poultry (chicken, turkey) cooked sous vide. Not so much beef or pork.

I was sort-of dared/told to post this.
So I'm about to eat this mess you see attached, completely willingly. It was my idea to get the ham, (yes, I was eating the paste solo, and not the ham.)

The disgusting meat is leftover Easter ham. The red sauce/paste/whatever you'd call it is 20-30 things of small Easter Fun-Dip (powder candy, like Pixy-Stiks, or something if you needed an explanation), flavored Watermelon and Strawberry. It's sweet and sort-of tart.

What do you all think?

Hi, new to /ck/.
Anyone here bake bread? I started playing with some simple bread recipes and was wondering what kind of herbs and stuff would make for a tasty bread. I have random shit like parsley, oregano, basil, garlic powder, and other random stuff. Is it worth experimenting with stuff like Cajun mix or chopped pepperoncini in the batter?

Pic related, first plain loaf I made successfully with yeast (I've done soda (baking soda) bread before but it's always been denser).

Soda bread I made, both use 4 cups of flour but this one is like half the size /twice as dense.
>>
I do bake bread, but usually just make a basic whole wheat bread for my daily needs. If I'm making something for a celebration or w/e I'm usually making a quick bread like banana or pumpkin.

I would just say to watch your proportions and keep in mind that yeast is a living thing. Different kinds of ingredients can affect them in different ways.

>>8821938
Your bread could use some nice seeds.

they have some different burgers, like teriyaki and stuff. the normal burgers and fries are the same as in the us.
and yea it's stupidly expensive. you spend ¥1200 for a set, compared to mcd's or mos for like ¥700, or any fast-food ricebowl place which is way better for ¥600

Where do you live?
We have those in the US, they're nothing special, and stupidly misleading.
You order a teriyaki pineapple burger and expect this big heaping slice of pineapple and instead you get this anemic paper thin slice slathered in what tastes like kraft barbecue sauce.
Utterly disappointing and not the 6 bucks at all.

Are fish eggs good for any nutritional value?
What can you do with them besides sushi?
Recently found out a local asian market has a few varieties pretty cheap

They're a frequent ingredient in noodle dishes like ramen and udon. I've also seen them used as toppings for hard boiled eggs or eaten on crackers like a caviar substitute. They're pretty nutritious with lots of omega-3s, b12, and vitamin D.

I took my family out to Hibachi for Easter Sunday dinner. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves between the hours of 6:30 and 8:15. I think this might be a new famiry tradition. It was amazing.

But when the bill showed up, I wasn't sure what to do with the tip. Usually I tip 20% everywhere I go so long as the service is even half-way decent. But it seems like at a hibachi restaurant, where they put on an entire show, I should tip more than that?

I don't know... I don't eat hibachi very often. This might have been the first time I had been to hibachi since my 5 year old was born and I just didn't know what was acceptable.

Looking for answers, or opinions on what level tip to give. I tipped 20% as I usually do, but wasn't sure if I should have tipped more.

And, since this is a tipping thread (my apologies in advance), if you are going to be a memetastic edlgelord and suggest that tipping is for fools, that its the responsibility of the restaurant owner to pay his workers, or that you are so awesome because you don't fall for this gimmick - take it somewhere else. This is not the thread to post that bullshit. Obviously a tip should be left. I just want to know what that tip should be.

Obviously if any server/cook fulfills your needs and more, would you not tip more? They're going out of their way to please you obviously.
>>
At Hibachi restaurants they generally have a Hibachi menu, and a normal plate menu. This price difference covers the show you get from the Hibachi, however if you feel it was especially good service you can always tip more, however 15-20% is normal.
>>
>>8821328
If 20% gratuity doesn't suffice as a decent tip for the cook they should find a different line of work. Their financial situation is not your problem
