Hello /adv/. I´m here for obvious reasons.
I´m a Mexican college student that still live with his parents because, well, they are paying my studies. I have good grades, I even work in a law firm (I´m studying law) and try to be a good person overall, still, I have a flaw in the eyes of my parents, I like to smoke weed, I'm not even someone that uses it constantly, I like to smoke a little from time to time if I have time. yesterday I smoked a little bit, and my bathroom was left smelling a little bit like weed, my mother came in and started to acuse me of smoking in my bathroom (I smoked with a friend before arriving to my house) and so it became a huge problem.
right now, they want me to do a drug test, to have a tracker in my cellphone, to leave the door of my room always open, and I can´t go anywhere else but school and work, because, according to my parents, I will go somewhere to use drugs. if you are wondering why I am allowing this to happen, well, if I don´t, they´ll kick me out of the house. now, I don´t know what to do, In 2 years I´ll finish college, but I don´t know if I can handle this shit anymore. should I be patient and let this shit keep happening? should I leave and try to continue school in a public university while working?

How does alcohol abuse massively raise your blood pressure?
But any research I've done only explains a very slight elevation - something along the lines of 5 mmHg or so, not 40.
Does anyone know what mechanism might be at work? If it s relevant, I have a fatty liver, but am not overweight. 29 years old, otherwise healthy.

Hey anons I need some advice.
Currently looking for career oriented jobs. I fucked up with college years back so that's out of the question, lost all my federal aid, and I'm currently out of work at the moment due to shoulder injury. I have a daughter I'm raising and I need to figure this shit out quick. Girlfriend and I are still together and everything is great between us. She's currently going to school for drug/alcohol addiction counseling but it'll be a few years until she finishes. Any advice on what I should be looking for? I have thought about doing a trade such as pouring concrete etc however I have a bad back, and I'm not sure if my body will be able to take physical labor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Yeah I was a suicidal fucking mess before my daughter was born. Wish I didn't make shitty decisions and I'm paying for it now. I'll check into that, I just want to be able to provide for my daughter. I know I could go back to school if I took out a private loan but I'm very uneasy about that idea.

what is the best way to remove rust stains from the inside of a toilet, without scratching the porcelain? i have a lot of it around the rim that is hard to clean off with a toilet brush

I work at a retail pharmacy and just got certified. Immediately afterwards I sent in applications everywhere. Out of the 38 in the past two weeks, I got 2 callbacks and both are offering me a job. It's not much, but it's a pharmacy tech so I can't expect much anyways.
One is at an independent pharmacy.
>Job is to solely compound medication and make vitamin cocktails
>+slow paced work and a new skillset I get to learn
>+Monday-Friday, 9-5
>+10 minute commute
>+17.40 an hour
>-small business and never worked for one
>-no room for advancement
>-they don't offer health insurance
>-afraid that I could be let go if business doesn't take off soon
One is at a hospital.
>+Good benefits
>+Starting out at filling and data entry, with three other slots for advancement and pay bumps afterwards
>+15.80 an hour
>-30 minute commute
>-shifts will vary between morning and afternoon
>-will work every other weekend
I like the advancement opportunity at the hospital, but the lower pay, worse schedule and commute are far worse.
The independent pharmacy is higher paying, less, but more skilled work load and it within jogging distance. But I'll never be anything more than the compound tech and I'm kinda iffy on working for a small business. I've worked for cities, and fortune 500s for the past 8 years and they always had security. This is kinda scary for me.

I need advice with a woman I have been trying to get back. I'll give you a little bit of backstory. We met at my 2nd job, and we started fooling around last November. We kinda dated until the start of February, and then she broke up with me. I just found out that she met another guy in March and just broke up with him in the middle of June. I have been talking to her and she said she "really needs a friend right now". I really don't even want to mess with her if I'm just going to be friendzoned, but I think that's the only way I'm going to stay in contact with her. I have already told her that I don't want to be just friends. Should I just walk away? I really want her back, but there's no way I'm just going to be friends.
