How does alcohol abuse massively raise your blood pressure?
But any research I've done only explains a very slight elevation - something along the lines of 5 mmHg or so, not 40.
Does anyone know what mechanism might be at work? If it s relevant, I have a fatty liver, but am not overweight. 29 years old, otherwise healthy.
(all my conditions are being treated at the moment, I m just curious for my own sake)
*I missed this paragraph between the 1st and 2nd line of my original post, sorry.
I ve been an alcoholic for 4-5 years, and recently discovered at the doctor that my blood pressure is very high, sometimes coming in at more than 160/110.
