Ok, so is there a game like Snatcher but with some RPG elements tacked on? And don't tell me about that chibi Snatcher RPG that already exists. I'm asking about basing all the gameplay on commands, first person, no transitions between change of scenery, investigative gameplay & puzzles, but with some turn based fights, exp and so on. I don't care if it's retro or not.

My friend told me the SNES version of Mortal Kombat was the best, I looked at him and told him it wasn't even the same engine as the arcade game. What was the best home version of Mortal Kombat? I gotta say the Genesis/Mega Drive version plays pretty damn well with a six button controller.

Sega CD had those load times... I mean the game hasn't aged like wine so either port isn't bad at all. I'd say Genesis feels the most like the arcade so yeah, Genesis.

Uh, any stepdown converter is good as long as the consoles power rating does not exceed the converters.
And for some older consoles that use DC power, you can just use the power brick of a EU unit. I use the same PAL Megadrive plug for all my Japanese megadrives and US Genesis consoles.
However, you have to make sure that the DC converters output matches that of the consoles. Megadrive 1 and 2 have inverted polarity plugs, for example.

Just look up your console's voltage and amps and buy a power adapter that supplies just that.
Out Voltage is important, get one that matches the original adapter.
Out Amperage should be at least the same as the original, it doesn't hurt to go bigger.

The Wii U Pro is my second favorite modern controller though I don't own one myself.

I don't see a thread, so let's talk about this.
Since they have recently gotten into the retro market, Gamestop had apparently made claims that their employees were being trained to properly detect reproduction and bootleg carts, and that there was a special facility where the games were taken to, where they were cleaned and tested before putting up for sale.
But recent findings apparently show this to be bullshit.
One customer had supposedly bought a copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day, only for it to be a clear as day bootleg, and others are buying rare and expensive games from them, only for the label to have a very clear "reproduction" on them.
I knew this would happen from day one. A massive chain store with shitty eployees who don't give a fuck, accepting retro video games, is a complicated and horrible thing, and Gamestop lying about issues relating to the matter is only icing on the cake.

I have a question about this series... well, about the PC Engine version of I & II (yes I know the remake is supposed to be better but I'm playing this for historical reasons + because I like the look of the old character art)
In that version, I and II are linked together into one big game, with your experience from the first game carrying over to the next. So I want to ask... is the game rebalanced for this change, or will the bosses hurt you far less than they normally would with a clean slate in one of the standalone releases of the sequel? I get no satisfaction from being over-leveled in games like this so yeah.

Ys I and II are basically one game. That's why it is always released in "double-package".
