Timing on the PSP seems impossible. Can absolutely not get past the toilet bit, I've tried so many times.

I fucking played the shit out of this game! Loved everything about it. And the extra stages where so good. When I look back now, all I can think of is what would be taken out for DLC.

My favourite rythm games are and will always be Space Channel 5.

Mileage varies from person to person how difficult it is but the timing IS fucked on the PSP. It's just a lazy port, Parappa was designed for CRT screens and 240p and when you change one of these factors it breaks the sync - the PSN versions are fucked for the same reason. It's not bad enough to make the game unplayable exactly but you can forget about getting COOL.

GH is an okay concept, doing 999999999 versions of the same fucking game isn't though. But thinking about it, would a game like Guitar Freaks have such attention as GH if they used "real" songs?

You're in /vr/ and you just posted two songs from a game released in fucking 2013, how in the hell does that represent retro-era Guitar Freaks? With songs like ABSOLUTE or Riot of Colour there was plenty of instrumental stuff they could've kept in for a US release along with a few US tracks DDR style. They probably just didn't have the money to put into manufacturing millions of plastic guitars more than anything.

You're comparing a Music simulation game to Rhythm games though. It's like comparing Space Channel 5 to DDR or Rhythm Heaven to IIDX. They are very different genres.
