I just got the Mattel Ghostbusters for $5 on Walmart clearance, and when I got home, noticed that Winston had no protein pack. Damn, does Mattel have a number to fix these things?
Also, I bought Mousetrap at a yard sale when I was ten. When I opened it at home, the mousetrap was missing.

If you mean simple building stuff with lego/glyos/shinki parts? All the time. I collect all three toylines you mention, btw.
If by customization you mean permanent changes like scratchbuilding and painting, never. I'm terrified I'll botch it.

Well with Lego I buy parts with Bricklink and build with ideas I have in mind. It's rare I buy sets. So everything I make in lego is built custom.
With Glyos I'll usually do something simple like add Axis parts to boost a Glyan although sometimes I'll get a little more creative. I'd say maybe half of the Glyos I have has been modified built at one point instead of kept as original figure.
With the few Shinkies I have I've tried to do some things putting parts together but I've never really been satisfied with the results and so I'll either have them in original armored-up configuration or just as dolls.

Timeline-wise, every 'bot seems to be existing. The animal 'bots actually were all almost wiped out millions of years ago because one of the Primes was like "fuk deez furry faggits" and went on a murderous rampage. Not many are left.
Also new BW style 'bots are popping up, since Tarantulas has perfected(?) a tech similar to the pretender tech Thunderwing was working on that gives them BW style transformations (ie: "furry outer shell, robot inside").
So he moves around a lot and his twitter seems to be "I am so lonely" and "I am so fat tweets"
