The air is hot and dry in the saloon, laden down with incense, cigarette smoke, and the body odor of a galaxy's worth of travelers. What little sunlight sneaks in through cracks in the plaster is quickly spirited away by the heady atmosphere, hazy neon lights above the bar a pallid substitute. You check your cracked wrist comp; six minutes late, not a good sign for a potential new crewmember.

A resigned sigh escapes, you were little different when you were younger. Still are little different. You look down at the last sips of the lustrous black whiskey in your cup; staring back at you is:

Are there any games that have 'legacy systems' where a character dies there is rules in the game for having the next his character come along and pick up the sword?

Legend of the five rings I know that you inherit your previous characters glory for from the same family. Something like that i'm thinking.

Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, continued his journey towards a strange new land. After spending two weeks learning some subtle skills from the thief, Kyra, he focused on seeing if he could learn something as innate and mysterious as magic. After some futile attempts to listen to Eve's advice he eventually was able to summon forth the ability to stand a single gold coin on its edge with his mind. Now, with the feeling of mystical energy swirling within him, Alan plans to ask Rowe to teach him how to properly use a bow.

Filthy weeb here, i am going to move to japan in 1 or 2 years for studies and i am going to stay there for like 5-6 years. So i wanted to ask if someone can tell me how is the state of hobby there, like if they play miniatures wargames, how they are, their favorite rpg system, etc

I'm trying to pick a tabletop rpg system for a game I want to run. Looking to do a sort of private military group that uses relatively near future weapons and most importantly mechs, trying to avoid crazy space tech but stuff like energy weapons and primative cybernetic augments are fine. Thinking like an early deus ex or gits style setting. I'm primarily familiar with d20 and d10 systems and I'm competent enough to adapt material to what I need,just looking for a strong basis from which to start. Any recommendations?

You are Siris Erickson, and you are a mutant. This is hardly surprising, considering both of your parents are mutants, and you grew up surrounded by mutants. Despite being somewhat of a late bloomer with your powers, the leaders of the Xavier Institute saw incredible potential in you and your abilities. With the ability to control the wavelength and frequency of light, as well as emit light from your body, you could theoretically do incredible things, although that is currently limited to a limited control over the light in the surrounding area and the ability to concentrate light into a laser. Both of which tend to give you painful headaches, and you can only do those with the help of a specially created suit. You were accepted into the Xavier Institute mid-year despite the late arrival of your powers, and you have been accepted into the Paragons squad.

Information: After two years of flight through space, Daikon and his team arrived on an unknown word, where they encountered a race of lizard like aliens with considerable strength. Daikon gained their allegiance, but was forced to contend with their leader. To make matters worse, soldiers of the Frieza Force arrived and joined the battle. Things nearly ended in death for Daikon, but he was saved by one of his new servants. Now, the Saiyans prepare the alien ship to leave the planet

Started a new campaign, and suddenly I'm that guy that always fails their rolls. I've been keeping track of expected vs. actual results, and it's perverse; I can roll up a statistically normal spread when it doesn't matter, but as soon as the check is for something it goes south and I fail 80% of the time. What must I do to appease the gods of fate? What superstitious rites remove this curse?

Also, epic win/fail/luck story thread.

>Be playing 3.5e campaign with friends, including guy who has "Indiana Jones + traveling minstrel" character.
>He fails all his checks, basically forced to take 20 to succeed at wiping his own ass
>DM makes house rule that just for him, all d20 rolls are reversed (1 is 20, 2 is 19, etc.)
