what does /tg/ think to lamentations flame princess?
>>43844846
I just don't see the point of most of the modules, really.
>>43844846
It makes Basic playable.
But the monsters and overall philosophy behind the module and adventures is gay, and the spell lists are godawful.
If there was a more 'core' fantasy set of rules to fix it, it'd be great, though.
It's too goddamn edgy.
>>43844869
Quite a few of them are really good dungeoncrawls? I'm not a fan of LotFP's edgy aesthetic but stuff like The God That Crawls or the redone Death Frost Doom have a lot of mileage in them.
Of course there are a lot of dross adventures too.

So looking to do a "nonstandard classes & races" campaign.
I know I'll be allowing the PoW and PoW E classes, and a couple of the PoW E Archetypes.
I know I'll be allowing Ult. Psionics and a couple Psionic Archetypes.
I'm undecided on regular magic.
I'm thinking I will either go Spheres, or go WordCasting. I know some 3PPs have supposedly drastically expanded the wordcasting options, do they make it any good? Or should I just stick to spheres?
So, lads, I've been talking to a friend who dislikes the ranged PoW stuff and I'd like to know your opinion on it. The damage is garbage compared to full attacks, the AoEs are useless because three enemies at 75% HP are three enemies at 100% capacity, and the debuffs are single-target. Thus, the best route is just to snatch counters and boosts, which feels weird to him and stops him from enjoying that. Does anyone agree with this and are there any ranged strikes you feel are better than full-attacking?
Reposting for more opinions, although now that I think of it Thanksgiving may not be the best day to ask for feedback:
Hey /pfg/ I wanted to make a "good" dex-based version of the Brutal Stalker. I realize the flavor text is dumb, but I'm more interested in the mechanical side of things. Thoughts?
Graceful Slayer
While other stalkers may use agility and finesse, the graceful slayer is an exemplar of such techniques. Wielding light or one-handed weapons with blinding speed, the graceful slayer is a paragon of the light.
Disciplines: The graceful slayer loses access to Broken Blade, Steel Serpent, and Thrashing Dragon. The graceful slayer gains access to Mithral Current, Silver Crane and Sleeping Godess. This alters the stalkers discipline list.
Maneuver Recovery: The graceful slayer may recover maneuvers in one of two ways. He may spend a standard action to recover a single maneuver of his choice. Alternatively, he may spend a full round action to reinforce his presence on the battlefield, recovering a number of maneuvers equal to his initiation modifier (min. 2). If he does so, he gains temporary hit points equal to twice his character level and DR/- equal to his initiation modifier for one round. The damage reduction and temporary hit points stack with other sources of temporary hit points or damage reduction. This replaces the stalker’s standard maneuver recovery.
Graceful Strikes (Ex): Whenever the graceful slayer successfully scores a critical hit against a creature, he gains a +4 sacred bonus to his Dexterity score for a number of rounds equal to his initiation modifier. This bonus increases to +6 at 8th level and to +8 at 16th level. He gains this bonus only when using a light or one-handed weapon in one hand. This replaces deadly strikes.

Custom mtg card r8 and make! http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/
"Just one question." You ask as your hand brushes against Renari's, not grasping it, but not batting her away either. "Do I have to wear the robes? Because really, those things look like they're about as itchy as a bantha's backside." You're still in your street clothes from Nar Shadda after all. These things have served you rather well, even if they could use a wash... you probably could too if you're being entirely honest.
A resounding slap of the face from all three Masters is one half of your answer "Yes, Zev, it's one of the signs of a Jedi. The robes and the lightsaber, they are what will let the common folk of the Galaxy know who you are."
Frag it that's not what you wanted to hear.
"No other questions then, are we free to go?" You ask in a chipper tone.
"You're free to go, try to get some food and ask a droid to guide you to your room when you're done eating." Master Tikran says, motioning that the two of you can leave, a flick of her wrist opening the heavy stone doors of the room once again, allowing the two of you passage out.
Once you're past the doors and out of sight of the council you give Renari's hand a light squeeze, shooting the girl a grin. "I believe I owe you food, don't I Rena?"
"That you do, oh brave Master Jedi. Follow me!" The girl replies with a smile, dragging you by the hand as she leads you off through the Academy.
================
The cafeteria was quite large, filled with your fellow apprentices and a few of the Masters you had yet to meet. Droids lined the back of the large room and were given the job of dispensing meals. As you approach the droid delivers it's automated response.

1177 – Baldwin IV of Jerusalem and Raynald of Châtillon defeat Saladin at the Battle of Montgisard.
1491 – The siege of Granada, the last Moorish stronghold in Spain, ends with the Treaty of Granada.

1795 – Partitions of Poland: Stanisław August Poniatowski, the last king of independent Poland, is forced to abdicate and is exiled to Russia.
1826 – The Greek frigate Hellas arrives in Nafplion to become the first flagship of the Hellenic Navy.
1863 – American Civil War: Battle of Missionary Ridge: Union forces led by General Ulysses S. Grant break the Siege of Chattanooga by routing Confederate troops under General Braxton Bragg.
1864 – American Civil War: A group of Confederate operatives calling themselves the Confederate Army of Manhattan starts fires in more than 20 locations in an unsuccessful attempt to burn down New York City.
1876 – In retaliation for the American defeat at the Battle of the Little Bighorn, United States Army troops sack Chief Dull Knife's sleeping Cheyenne village at the headwaters of the Powder River.
1917 – World War I: German forces defeat Portuguese army of about 1200 at Negomano on the border of modern-day Mozambique and Tanzania.
1940 – World War II: First flight of the de Havilland Mosquito and Martin B-26 Marauder.
1941 – HMS Barham is sunk by a German torpedo during World War II.
1952 – Korean War: After 42 days of fighting, the Battle of Triangle Hill ends as UN forces abandon their attempt to capture the "Iron Triangle".
1970 – In Japan, author Yukio Mishima commits ritualistic seppuku after an unsuccessful coup attempt.
It is 838 years since the Battle of Montgisard was fought between the Ayyubids and the Kingdom of Jerusalem. The 16-year-old King Baldwin IV, seriously afflicted by leprosy, led an out-numbered Christian force against the army of Saladin. The Arab force was routed and their casualties were massive, and only a fraction managed to flee to safety.
Saladin had planned and invasion of the Kingdom of Jerusalem from Egypt. Learning of Saladin's plans, Baldwin left Jerusalem with only 375 knights to attempt a defense at Ascalon, but was stalled there by a detachment of troops sent by Saladin who had 26,000 men. The true numbers are impossible to estimate, since the Christian sources refer only to knights and give no account of the number of infantry and turcopoles, except that it is evident from the number of the dead and wounded that there must have been more men than the 375 "knights". It is also uncertain whether the so-called knights included mounted sergeants or squires, or whether they were true knights. Just as uncertain are the numbers of their opponents. An 1181 review listed Saladin's Mamluk forces at 6,976 Ghulams and 1,553 Qaraghulams. However, there would have been additional soldiers available in Syria and elsewhere, while auxiliaries might have accompanied the Mamluks. Whether these would have added up to a total of 26,000 reported by William of Tyre is impossible to say.
Saladin left part of his army to besiege Gaza and a smaller force at Ascalon and marched northward with the rest. Accompanying Baldwin was Raynald of Châtillon, who had just been released from captivity in Aleppo in 1176. Raynald was a fierce enemy of Saladin and was King Baldwin's second-in-command. Also with the army were Baldwin of Ibelin, his brother Balian, Reginald of Sidon, and Joscelin III of Edessa. Odo de St Amand, Master of the Knights Templar, came with 84 Templar knights. Another Templar force attempted to meet Baldwin at Ascalon, but they remained besieged at Gaza.
Exemplars are Banes that don't suck.

>>43821407
As for that last one, PP has said that the schedule was originally for retailers, and it's been taken down to lighten the load on their website team, since they have more infrastructure in place to inform retailers of what's coming out.
I can almost believe it, if it weren't for their poor timing with the arguments and snarking between the forum-goers and some of their staff about the release schedule.
