Just started putting together a Zvezda 2S1 Gvozdika SPG.
Pretty good kit, goes together really easily and the detail seems pretty decent.
I'll be putting together two more of them and a pair of Shilkas tomorrow, plus a T-72 just because.
That gives me the core of a nice Soviet force for TY, alongside one BF army deal and the six T-55s that will pretend to be a T-72 as well.
I'll probably be taking some pics and reviewing the minis on my blog.

I am Talan the Redeemed, second to Kholmar of House Mattheo, and, right now, more than a little lost. I was prepared to deal with rebels, monsters and whatever else would stand in our way. It's what I signed up for when I agreed to this my Lord's quest to avenge the murder of around 200 of his workers - the promise signed with blood whose power even now sings about the fate awaiting those daring to stand against me - but nothing could have prepared me quite for what this would entail.
"--and I always wanted to be a hero and now I'm so excited could you imagine I--" the young Temple Guardian walking barefoot next to me seems barely past the Age of Beginning Completion, but her attire and attitude both seem more fitting to a carnival performer than a warrior. Her clothes seem little more than a pair of wide flowing pants and some equally colourful cloth wrapped around her chest, leaving the rest dauntingly indecent and me feeling woefully overdressed.
Truth be told, I'd have preferred taking my helmet along, but apparently seeing a fully armoured Shadeseeker would be "bad for morale" or some such. Never mind the inmical moral effect of my, uh, 'companion's' current attire.
"--and maybe it would be nice if we could like spar together just like you and me if it's no trouble cause I've almost managed to--" I turn on her, suddenly wary. To her credit she /doesn't/ shy back, instead doing one of those 'I'm totally not trying thinking of how to put you down' *shifts* in stance a less-paranoid person would have most likely failed to notice.

Stormcasts are really starting to grow on me.
While the game is still shitty, I feel the fluff could still be really good.
What is needed is more good quality art. Too much is shit and fails to capture a good tone for the setting. Additionally we only get pictures of models, not every Lord Celestant needs to be Vandus Hammerhand or "guy with hammer and sword with sowrd raised above his head."

I feel the same way.
I never really was a "hater" to start with, but I never really gave AoS its fair chance I think.
Now, after a few months of looking at what we got, it seems like a good bit of fun, and the models look really good.
One simply has to let go of the Warhammer feel, and embrace it for what it is, a totally new game with a totally new look.

Song of Swords is a realistic fantasy tabletop RPG that draws inspiration from historical fechtbuchs, weapons and armor. Its combat system is fun as balls and it can be used for both fantasy and historical/mundane settings.
Call of the Void is a pulpy sci-fi tabletop RPG about fighting space-nazis and hunting giant whales with harpoons made out of the moon. Ironically it also has a very realistic combat system based around modern firefights, and can handle mundane or magical settings.

I'm going to run a Sword & Sandals game based on some kind of primordial civilization. I'd like to keep actual monsters of the rare, terrifying, lovecraftian variety and instead populate the place with forgotten species from our own world. Pic related is the short nose bear.

A thread to discuss the lore of Mortal Kombat and what can be done for the mechanics of a PnP roleplaying game based on the setting.
A few of us at the Mortal Kombat Konquest thread have tossed around some ideas but this is a thread dedicated solely to talking about the lore and gameplay for a system.
I'd like to propose the first topic before we move onto a few others: Mortal Kombat characters are durable. Very, very, very durable. Cracked bones, fireballs to the face, swords to the gut, snapped spines, broken skulls, shattered jaws, acid in the face--they can take a LOT of punishment. Sometimes it makes sense, as Goro is a half-dragon and some of the fighters are also not human, but the heroes of the series are mostly human, but often human with extraordinary training, backgrounds or bloodlines. How should this apparent superhuman-like durability be reflected in gameplay and character creation? How mortal should they be? How strong is a Mortal Kombat character compared to an average NPC? For example, in many cutscenes, soldiers and civilians are utterly destroyed by most special abilities, whereas the main characters shrug them off.

That's a tough question. The argument can be made that X-Rays and the extreme levels of character model damage seen in MK9 like ripped off eyelids actually don't canonically occur since the worst wounds we ever see in the story mode cutscenes, besides the obviously lethal ones, are bruises to the face.
...But if you're playing an MK game, you want to be able to do the fun and famous moves.

I could get behind this. Mortal Kombat itself is something that keeps the realms in order, and too much of it can destroy them, as told by Armageddon. How much of Armageddon is more of a self-fulfilling prophecy is up to debate, however.

We are a separate entity from /tg/ station, we just host our threads on /tg/ as the server was made by fa/tg/uys for elegan/tg/entlemen.
We occasionally run Dorfstation mode, a roundtype where the crew must build up from a bare-bones station. Dorf will be run less often then usual, probably on the first and/or last of every month now. Dorf is ran on a separate server, found at byond://76.16.8.127:28020

Join the server and read the rules and changelog (located at the top right of the game window). The changelog has been cleaned up to show changes starting from the base code of the /nt/ branch.
Code branch from NT (also named d20Station) is updated a few times every week with fixes and new content.
If you have a bug, contact an admin in-game or on the thread to report it.
Note: This is NOT SS13 general.
