So half humans /tg/, how do you do it?

I ask because I have some ideas for a setting where the main race is humans, but many of them are hybrids in some way.
Already I have;
>Animal human hybrids (satyrs, minotaurs, etc)
>Vampire/Undead Human hybrid (dhampir, ghoulish people, etc.)
>Demon human hybrid
>God/Divine human hybrid
>Plant/nature human hybrid

What other sort of halfsie races could you envision and what sort of special abilities could they have?

By abilities, what do you mean? Subtle physiological stuff like low light vision and heightened immune systems or "once per encounter, can use Laser Eyes racial power"
>>
>>44134544

Either or, really.

Also; changes in things like stats and stuff work too. Obviously more magical creatures crossed with humans would probably result in magical racial powers instead of more practical and realistic ones.

Greetings new overlord! I'll be your guide to indiscriminate evil and fulfilled megalomania.
And I must say you couldn't have come at a better time! What with all these do-gooder heroes running the show these days, this world could do with an old fashioned iron rule of tyranny I say!

First thing's first isn't it? Where do we begin? Well any decent overlord needs to look the part. Perhaps you have a name also? Of course you can simply go by 'Overlord' and present yourself as the provided image if you like, have a little vote on it.

Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, learned some of the basics of wizardry. He then went to The Sword and Shield Tavern, drank with his friends and ended up fighting Gabby twice, before passing out.

Your eyes drift open. Pain. Pain is your body. You groan as the morning sunlight hits your face through the window of your room in the Circle. You notice Ed, doing crunches. He looks up at you as you make verbal your agony.

“Finally awake, Alan?” He laughs as he gets up and walks over to where you're lying in bed. “You looked like absolute crap when Quissonce and that other beautiful woman dragged you up here.” He inspects your face. “Still look a bit like crap. Hungover?” You nod.

“Marble. Bring me my marble.” He looks at you puzzled before searching through your pack and handing it to you. You hold it and try to channel healing energy into your body. Nothing. Shit, guess that daily hour of prayer is necessary. You drop it back into your pack. You're in too much pain to focus on praying right now. He hands you a glass of water which you drain completely.

You focus all your strength, skill and willpower to sit up and swing your legs off the side of the bed. There's a bowl of eggs that Ed brought up for you to eat on the central table. You get up and hobble towards it, shoveling some in your mouth. Your memories of last night trickle back. Well, how are we going to handle this?

After much strife and close encounters, Makoto and his friends have finally surmounted the obsessive curse that had plagued them for their holiday. With little else in their way, they now relax on their island holiday.

In alternate gender form because, who else, Makoto wanted it.

The night is surprisingly warm tonight, on the island. The full moon is beautiful against the sea, and the waves that crash against the darkened shore. Sculptures of glass, which you now recognize to likely be the result of one of Cocoa's drunken rampages, shine beautifully along the beach - reflecting and splitting the light that dances around them. This was definitely a good seaside restaurant to pick, you think, excellent... for your gender flipped dinner!

"Momo, come back here!" Umeki exclaims, grabbing her former-sister by the arm before he can run out over the beach.

"Aww, but I wanna play with the glass thing." He whines before Umeki hauls him back to the group. Well- everyone who can gender swap, that is. Umeki and Shizuko cannot, but Shizuko seems to be enjoying her place as your evident-date to this. Even some slightly jealous gazes from the male Shun and Yui don't seem to dislodge her. For once, she has enough self-confidence to persevere in the face of adversity. She even has a slightly sexy hip-wiggle to her walk. A social chameleon when she wants to be, this girl. She does try and flick her hair, only to have it smack her in the face though, so it isn't a perfect guise.

Not that you're to talk; this is the first time you've really worn a suit out with your friends (despite being a girl underneath), so you're feeling pretty pumped as well.

[1/2]
>>
>>44134184

You reach the reception for the restaurant, and after getting an odd look or two, you are led inside. Not the poshest place, but with a seafood bonanza, you're not complaining. Someone seems to be, as you can hear something high-pitched.

"Wait, is that- No, no, I- I can't, I can't!" You hear squealing from behind a thin divider. Before you push aside the screen to view the voice's owner - a flash of gold blinds you, and the group. Grunting, you squint your eyes and see a suit of golden armour before you. She stands there, awkwardly.

"H-Hey guys." Saito, female if the voice is any indication, says, "N-Nice place, huh? You all look amazing!"

"And you look like you're hiding something." You say, tipping up your trilby. The 'shink' of Saito's armour is unmistakable as she crosses her arms.

"O-Of course not, I just decided to come in this. I'm s-still a girl, right? That should be enough." She reasons. No-one buys that for a second. Shizuko growls at her.

"Saito, if you stay like that you'll crinkle the dre-"

"Mng!" She squeaks, clutching a chair. You sigh. Cute as it is, this acting out of his is starting to get old. You thought being in a bikini would have helped, but he's as bad as always.

> But if you're in that, how will I kiss you~?
> Saito, please... just let me see you.
> Saito, enough. Stop being such a child.

As the fae's soul rises from his body you reach out with your blasphemous Gift and ensnare it, preventing it from going to...wherever fae souls go to.

Your allies don't seem to notice, but Kaelyn shivers as if she felt something.

[Fae noble soul gained]

“I'm going to change their minds” you say to Kaelyn, reaching out to the unconscious fae minds using your telepathic abilities. Before you change them, you need to know what you're dealing with.

The younger fae are both ambitious military officers who gained rank from family connections and who want to use a military career as a stepping stone into politics. Their minds are sharp and cruel – when you first attacked and they were confident of victory they planned on torturing all of you not for information, but for entertainment. One of them planned of raping you first.

Their minds contain a lot of information about the facility, it would take time to sort through it all though. They are both minor nobles from rich fae families.
150 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
The older fae is colder, far more calculating. He has no moral reservations about hurting anyone, but would only do so for a tangible benefit rather than pleasure. He knows more of the facilities secrets and it was his spell that altered the activation chambers to allow beastmen to survive them. His name is Lorkua Hasied. He is a powerful chaos mage but bitter because he came from a smaller, less powerful fae family. He also had orders from Lord Reaper to report to him immediately if you or Kaelyn returned to the facility – and to gather any proof he could of your presence.

From their minds you gather a lot of things you didn't know about the facility, including storehouses of various weapons, databases of psychic knowledge and the fact that there are several hundred frozen Serec stored in a deep sublevel.

There's also something about spaceships, but it doesn't make much sense, you'll need to think about what you're seeing before you can make sense of it.

You're interrupted by Kaelyn “Change them how?” she asks, still looking unhappy.

What changes are you making? (Other than altering their memories of the fight)

>Implanted Commands (10 minutes per fae)
>Turn them into traitors (1 hour per fae)
>Total personality rebuild (1 day per fae)

Since I posted it so late into the last thread, I'll post it again here for input.

So I'd like some input on a little pitch I came up with last week: Mage Hunter Quest. Or something of the sort. You play as a Hobgoblin raised by Imperial mages. You're educated, taught to speak, and fight. Yet, you're not able to wield magic.
Instead of throwing you aside like a broken toy, the mages that kidnapped you and raised you gives you a new purpose; hunt mages that stands against the Empire's wishes. Whether they be of your own race or otherwise. You're trained by mages to hunt mages. People will judge you and resent you wherever you go, but since you have the Imperial Sigil with you, they know you're an agent of the Empire. Some will harm you for it, while others will tread lightly around you or even treat you with respect.

That's just the basic concept of it. Thinking about having the MC discover some conspiracy involving the mage order that raised and trained him that starts him off on a whole plot. Could also implement a system where the players can come up with all sorts of custom weapons/tools to kill mages with, making each hunt and kill more unique than the last.

>How would your favorite author run a quest?
Badly, since he's dead. I can't exactly imagine "popular fantasy author runs a quest" ending well, though. Imagine a quest by one of these luminaries:
>Rowling
>Butcher
>Sanderson
>Rothfuss
etc.

>How would your favorite author run a quest?
Iain Banks would do a pretty cool job I think.

>What if your favorite quest became a novel?
It would be trashy guilty fun, just like it already is.

I kind of like the idea. It seems a more, and forgive me for saying it, realistic approach to adventuring, where you get very little until you finally land the big score.
>>
>>44134031
13 gp seems absolutely ridiculous however. What, did no one carry weapons? Or wear armor? Or have any personal belongings? Was the entire campaign spent fighting naked humans?

Even if it was fighting animals their pelts and meat would be worth more than 13gp.

This reeks of didn't happen because it's highly unrealistic to even have this be possible.
>>
>>44134031
Not really, especially when you consider a couple crappy human-sized armors and a few non-shit weapons combined will sell for about 20 gold.

I have a challenge for your /tg/.

You are Space Marines and your challenge is to pull off a Lugft Huron.

As in do the same thing as Huron did and take control of a sector and use its industrial power to make your Chapter, and your allies, powerful, yet without the pants-on-head-retarded things Huron did.

Hard Mode: Do so without additionally pissing off other Space Marine Chapters.

Exorciators Mode: Do so without making the High Lords very pissed at you.

>>44133605
Do what Huron did except
1. Don't start legion building
2. Continue paying tithe
>>
>>44133605
I do so under the reasoning that the sector's rulers were lacking in their capabilities to produce enough stuff, so I take control of the place after I discover that they were secretly Chaos Worshippers.

I then move my Fortress Monastery on the main planet now that the rulers were purged.

I then increase production to the point of not only having enough to send as tithe to the Imperium, but also to arm myself and my allies. All by making so by employing the same superior tech I have in my Chapter Forge. I also improve mining capabilities in order to meet production quotas.

And most importantly, I pay my geneseed tithe and continue to petition the High Lords to found new Chapters from my geneseed to lock off the Maelstrom.

Welcome back cadets.

Brief recap: The witch Revolta has abducted Tanis the mummy and her Necronomicon. The Calloway Academy is under siege by zombies and the Grimwood Finishing School is a wreck. Cadet Anon and his companion Sibella Dracula are doing everything they can to stop Revolta and save their friends, but it's not easy; it's become clear now that Revolta is using Sibella's own friends against her.

Last week the party survived an attack from Winnie the werewolf during which Sibella was briefly eaten, then regurgitated. They now find themselves trapped in a haunted castle searching for Phantasma's lost teddy bear before the ghost girl loses all of her marbles and chops Anon's head off.

From the previous thread:

>Lead child and preteen Phanty to the room Sibs is in. Maybe she found more pieces of teddy, if not, I am sure the girls would be happy for even one.

Preteen Phanty follows you back upstairs, lured by Miss Grimwood's lullaby coming over your radio. You've noticed that the mocking 'radio DJ' Phantasma voices have quieted down for the duration of the song as well.

When you arrive upstairs you see that Sibella has written something on the inside of the mirror with the tube of lipstick she carries on her.

"SRIATSNWOD ONAIP EHT HSAMS"

>Well then away to the room with a teddy chunk "Morton do we know what breaking mirrors does to the mirror world?"

"Mirrors are sometimes thought to be portals into the afterlife or another nebulous "in between" dimension; breaking one would certainly break that connection, but shouldn't affect the occupants of the other side... unless they were halfway through the barrier at the time."

"Plus you'd get seven years bad luck, hoohooheehheeha!" Phantasma's voice breaks in. "Not that you'll live that long..."

At present you DON'T know how to get the teddy, actually. You went searching in a closet (and rolled a natural 20) and a minute later Sibella was holding 1/3rd of the teddy bear. But it's still on the other side of the mirror with her.

Why isn't there a game that let's you make your own warband in the Syrian Civil War?

Look at this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_armed_groups_in_the_Syrian_Civil_War
You have everything from tribal militias to communists duking it out, and have militant groups with awesome names like "The Lions of the East". There are even more unique battalions within the larger factions too.

You have weapons ranging from machine guns welded to the back of pick up trucks and WW2 era weaponry, to high tech drones and attack choppers. It seems like the perfect place to set a wargame or RPG in, as it gives you a lot of freedom.

There is.

In fact there is probably several.

AK47 Republic springs to mind. And that whassissface that is a 'near future' wargame about merc armies.

Maybe you should have looked even a little before asking why they don't exist.
>>
>>44133172
Isn't that AK47 Republic focused on pre 1990 Africa though? Having stats for the Soviet Union certainly doesn't reflect the modern world.
