Out somewhere in the wilderness, an egg rustles. A delicate creature, a Sylph is about to be born, very soon now. You will hatch into a world, strange, unknown. Sylphs are born with some good measure of intelligence, and maturate within their cocoon. That doesn’t mean you’re prepared for what may come your way. Can you survive? What goals will you set out to achieve? Friends, enemies, create a legacy of your own?
So many possibilities exist, as you lay dreaming. Quite a lot of slumbering, since the process is detailed. Making sure all the proper memories are in place to function straight from hatching. Even if there’s noise outside, one mustn’t break out early, lest rebirth defects occur.
Even if there’s a LOT of noise. Wow okay that really sounds abnormal. Did you move? Some of these noises are pretty piercing and cringe worthy. Smashing, too. But you’re not ready yet.
Time passes, everything dies down. What was that all about? … probably nothing. You’re running out of energy from the yolk, and your thoughts are aligned properly now. Your body has grown as well as it can in this shell.
It’s time to awaken, now, and find what awaits. The first step is always the hardest.
What kind of creature are you? (and where does thou awaken?)

Savage worlds?
Modded Legends of Wulin?
Eclipse Phase?
Something new altogether?
I would just play the actual game with friends, you can't really capture the feel of Warframe in a TTRPG.
>>44163091
Well yeah, I highly doubt you can get a One to One translation of the video game... or any non rpg in a TTRPG.
That said i think the Universe and the lore would make for a fantastic setting for a Sci fi game.
>>44163246
If we had more of it and what lore we got wasn't focused around Orokin and Tenno, I'd agree.
Wasn't crazy about Second Dream.
Do any professional tabletop RPG systems have a Digimon conversion?
Yes, I know there's a /tg/ homebrew floating around. I have it. Not impressed.
Yes, I know a lot of generic systems can handle Digimon with enough work. I'm asking if someone has already written down how to do that.
>professional
>not homebrew
>not using generic rules
Basically... you're asking if Saban/Baidai/whoever owns the rights to Digimon has published an official game? The answer is no. If they had, it would be called "Digimon: The Official RPG" (or something like that) and be really easy to at least find, like, a wikipedia article about it or something.
I don't know if tabletop RPG's are very popular in Japan but my assumption is that they are not. Although, isn't there an anime that's literally based on DnD 3.5, right down to quoting/citing game rules as part of the universe's "rules" sorta like Order of the Stick? Maybe there is potential for this.
Quick, somebody who speaks Japanese, get them to make one!
Okay I know this has been suggested before but seriously?
Monsters and other Childish things
It's literally a game about forming friendships with monsters and having them interfere with your life and loved ones. It makes a great Tamers game.
Some people recently updated the /tg/ homebrew so it isn't as shitty

Just so you can waifu Lilith as GNR
>>44161110
I do jump settings I don't know, and have put FR fairly far back in my chain due to drawbacks and the times thread has mentioned FR has a god (or divine group) that stop tech from advancing, and since I have and consistently use extremely advanced tech, and have a habit of uplifting people, I wanted to leave it till I could try to deal with it.
Essentially I'm after either an alternate 'build your own angels' perk to the Bayonetta one, or failing that being able to summon holy/divine humanoids with wings and maybe halos and have them stick around for a while. Doesn't have to be too long, but I'd rather they not be the sort of summons that pop up in one attack and disappear once that attack's over.
How do you enter a world jumpers? Is it a mystic portal? Is there a jumpchain that whisks you there? Do you just get REALLY lost? Or maybe you wake up?
I prefer the falling-from-the-sky approach really. Drop-in is litteral right?

You do, you control the ability that creates it.

You're retarded. You always control the token if you control the effect that made it, unless it explicitly says someone else controls it.
Learn to play the fucking game.
Whats your favourite PVP character for D&D/Pathfinder?
There's a deathmatch style session on this weekend run by a friend. So far he's said everyone will be using lvl 12-ish characters. And the matches are mostly not going to be pit matches to the death, he mentioned one that will be similar to the Hunger Games.
First thought was Monk or maybe a Ranger. If Psion is allowed that would definitely be a top pick.
>>44161116
Also probably going to be using d&d 3.5, but really want to hear /tg/'s thoughts on any system
How many participants will there be in each match?

Not confirmed but I'm thinking between 6-10 or thereabouts. The guy running it asked me how many people I can bring so I'm thinking near around 10

Serious question. Why can't Magic the Gathering be allowed to grow up with its audience?
How different would Magic the Gathering be if it had 30-year-old men as its target audience?
How is that suppose to apply to land art? Is this why zendikar is so popular?

Become The Vampire 16
You shake your head and focus on a different scene, shifting the dream to bring the monster version of Sammy into view. It's like a bad 80s movie version of a werewolf rather than the real deal. Angie was right though. You had never considered Sammy a danger before. You let the dream play out so your subconscious can figure this mess out, moving to the edge of the room with Angie.
"I'm lucid now, so that kinda kills the point of dreaming. I mean, you literally just explained to me the point behind the monster. There's no mystery or conflicting feelings there to work through. Plus you promised me that you'd tell me about devils and screwing them over, so let's do that."
Angie walks over to the monster as it attacks the bed.
"Are you sure that's all there is to it? I'll tell you about devils, but I don't want you jumping to conclusions."
Angie walks around the bed slowly and yawns.
"Don't think literal. Think figurative. Sammy scares you. Not because of who she is, but because of what she represents. You were with Jennifer in the dream, but that could just be hormones. Or it's about contrast. Sammy scares you in a way Jennifer doesn't. There are lots of ways to look at it. It all depends on your point of view."
Angie walks back towards you and stretches.
"As for the devil... Tellarie is a lust devil, who focuses on destroying stable relationships with acts of desire. Forbidden fruit. They're the foulest and worst sort of devil, corrupting and destroying good things rather than just sowing wickedness."
Angie gives you a tired smile.
"In short, the easiest to con. You can make good things and ruin them rather than doing genuinely evil things to please them. There won't be a mark on your own soul. And Tellarie is desperate for power right now, so they're handing out free samples left and right to get powerful allies."
Angie wobbles and falls onto the bed, the Sammy-monster gnawing on her leg.
"For a con... When Tellarie appears before you, offer to corrupt something pure or break up a relationship. They'll follow up soon, so make some vague promises, keep what you know a secret... Maybe say you're mad at someone and want revenge... I'm sure that'll do as a starting point."
Angie yawns loudly.
"Mmm... nap time..."
She pats the monster and gets comfortable. You don't know why you were expecting something different, but then again there's a bed right there. The gnawing doesn't even seem to phase her.

Same system as Become The Dragon Quest. If you don't know what that is, it's best of three d20 rolls. I name a stat that sums up what you're trying to do, and if I don't name a relevant skill, you try to fill in the blank based on what you're trying to accomplish. “Break open the door” might be Strength based, but if you've been playing baseball after school and there's a lead pipe nearby, you could apply your Baseball skill to the roll. A 20 on the die is a crit threat, and if either of the other two rolls is 20 or higher after mods, it's a critical. A crit fail is when you have two or more 1s. So far this system has worked out well enough. We'll get into combat rules as needed, but in basic terms you have wounds, not HP, and the worse the wounds, the more penalties you accrue while doing other things.
Most Important Rule:
Have fun.
>Enjoy your lucid dream
>Relax and drift off
>Wake Angie up, talk more

You are ROY POWERS, a Vertical Tank Commander!
Currently, you had penetrated deep into the main laboratory complex of Reikland's Der Riese facility, where they manufactured all of their undead soldiers and other affiliated abominations of nature. However, the mastermind of these horrors, Willhelm Strasse, was busy making his escape on an armored train.
However, stopping him wasn't such a simple affair. After all, he had just released two previously unseen creations, the Panzerhunds, leaving just you to hold them off while Rock and Alex to figure out how to stop the train.
First things first, though, were to the two giant, mechanical dog things charging right at you, bounding at you with a speed and grace as if they were actual flesh and blood dogs.

>are you thinking about GMing a campaign? what's the setting?
Yep, this is it. And I'm really unsure on what I'm doing. Players want 1800s dungeonpunk, a genre I have little experience with. Everything I have for experience/inspiration drags me back into high fantasy.
What do?
Screencap of a story I posted quite a while ago. Going to be running the continuation of it in the next week, hopefully.
>are you thinking about GMing a campaign? what's the setting?
I have an idea I'm working on. There'll be 4 players who will play a unit of black-ops operators who go on covert missions ala Mission Impossible/James Bond. They will have to break into government buildings like embassies or private buildings. Some missions will be in different countries. Some missions permit the use of deadly force, others don't. Some missions will only be about eliminating a target, others will be about saving a high profile hostage held by terrorists. Some missions will be about infiltrating and stealing delicate data, others about destroying delicate data. And so one. On one mission the team encounters a person that seems to have super powers and things go wrong, forcing them to abort the mission.
But that's only the prologue. The main part is very Supers-heavy. These top sectret special black ops operators will get the offer to partake in a sectret, government-sponsored experiment. The players will only know that they will gain powers but not what kind of powers.
Player 1 will have altered cells which generate and store electricity. He will be able to discharge lightning bolts from his hands. He will recharge naturally but it takes a while. He can accelerate the process by hooking himself up to an electrical socket or something like that. Can't charge by getting hit by lightning though. That's too much at once and would kill him.
Player 2 will also have altered cells. His cells generate gravitons, enabling him to fly. At first not too fast, but he'll be able to level up in order to reach a higher max speed.
to be continued...
Let's create a kingdom, /tg/. Everything said about this kingdom is true unless it conflicts with something previously stated in the thread.
To start, it is a large island nation that has existed for centuries.
>>44159401
It is populated by birds that are spies for the king.
The inhabitants of the island try to trick the spy birds by feeding them all in a central park away from their houses and families.
>>44159422
Few people know about these birds' true purpose, and those that do are viewed as conspiracy nuts and insane.
