Unfortunately I have little material aid to offer you at the time, we'll just have to acquire it at the expense of others along the way. Here is what I can do for you right away!

A handmedown from generations of evil masters, it's possesses the rite of command over all minions near and far, provided they serve you. It also make you look particularly frightening.

Not a powerfist I'm afraid, but still quite useful. Use it like a conduit for all your magical machinations, storing energy and unleashing it from your fingertips. No need for any of that silly looking gesturing and chanting!

[ACQUISITION - ROBUST AXE]
Honestly I just grabbed it off the old dungeon floor. Adventurers tend to drop their stuff when they find something more powerful to replace it, like the contents of the armory. I'm sure you'll do them the same in time.

And most importantly, the minions! A staple resource to you indeed! Why do boring laborious tasks when there are little buggers that will do it for you!

Officially they are called Gremlins, this breed at least, but that isn't important.
These creatures make fine combatants and you will find them ...largely dispensable. Like all minions, they reproduce rapidly in their hives as long as there is food or 'essence'. We'll worry about the fine details later.

With the formalities out of the way, lets get right to the action!
You need to decide how we start this campaign of chaos, who will we march in on and begin making a name for yourself.

First off the elves live in lands largely inhabited by all sorts of magical creatures and beasts that reside in woodlands to dense jungles. Those frilly twig like people make for a good target when you consider all the evils they have sealed away and guard.

The mages have all the possible magical means we need to really get this ball rolling. Salvage what you can along the way while slaughtering their apprentices and scholars! Though be watchful of their masters, though they are few, some of those archmagi are something else.

The seafolk live in pretty dangerous lands, if only that its filled with water! They are a race of tradesmen that have access to all the riches in the deep seas. Riches we could so desperately put to better use!

And lastly the holy order. These freakish zealots of a nonsense god, they are absolutely our worst nemesis. We should see about striking them while they don't know of your return. They have quite the selection of equipment to be had, if we can strike into their lands.

The lush and green jungles of the elves. I remember back when this place was filled to the brim with corrupted and eldritch magic, those treehuggers most likely have sealed away all the best and greatest monstrosities somewhere!

I know for a fact that the shadowy jungles even the elves dare not tread. We surely can find truly evil monsters and the like within, a bit of a gamble perhaps, if we can bring them to our side.

Or we can just get right to the good stuff these wretched creatures have sealed away, several locations are sealed with magic veins and roots. They will no doubt be well guarded, but it WILL be worth it.

We have a few methods you may want to consider now that we are here.

The brown hive is quite a crucial source of our armies for many Overlord's reign in the past. I do not know the true locations of the hives and which, but I know the four locations stated have at least one of them in each.
As with the previous overlords, finding them is only a matter of time.

It appears the smell is coming from a small troop of our green munchkins on the hunt for food. And they are biting more than they can chew! They are in combat with a small hydra!

Your helm issues the commands to the greens, they recognize you are their ultimate master and act on your will.

Many of the greens died restraining the hydra, but the deed is done, and with the power of your gauntlet the hydra is filled with dark power and will serve you as well.

Of course, a source of minions is important.

The way deeper into the jungle is absolutely choking with poison. There isn't nearly enough greens to clear the path for you and your browns of the deadly toxins.

The hydra is obviously unaffected.

With the greens guiding you, at least you find your first minion hive. At the moment we have nowhere to store it, but 10 minions can carry it around with us. And if we come across some food, we can use it to produce more greens!

There is also what appears to be a Spell Stone! We had discussed earlier the lack of one, and now that can be remedied!
Spell stones contain all the knowledge and power to use magic, linked up with your gauntlet, you can use your own dark energy to channel it freely.

A very nice spell that will choke the life from most living foes, the effects are not immediate but it lasts for a fair amount of time. making it very cost effective on your mana reserves if you can keep your enemies inside the cloud.

Elven villages always look like they want to live like they are trees themselves. What absurdity.

I doubt there will be fierce resistance found here, but before we begin, lets do a little bit of tactics shall we?

This village is no larger than 100 elves at best, what fighters they have among them are certainly not well armed or military. The obstacles we face will largely attributed to their homes behind halfway up the damned trees. We need to find a way up, or get them to come down.

Do you also want to keep your hive nearby for faster reinforcements? It may be in danger if we can't protect it though.

The druids unfortunately were not having any of that and rendered themselves mulch to the earth.
I know you were looking forward to their magical secrets, but I might have something to ease your mind on that! As it happens, the magic in the Spell Stones and your gauntlet are far stronger than any magic these clowns can muster, your power stems from years and years of other people's accomplishments, it doesn't matter who made the stones and how powerful they were, its yours now, take it to heart my lord.

I wouldn't trust minions with poison. Browns pick up bones for clubs.

The first seal is guarded by real troops, but in small numbers! I'm sure you'd love to corrupt these ones, but I think you'll often find these ones prefer death to eternal servitude. They will die in battle before other enemy forces and bite their own tongue when captured.
This isn't exclusive to elves either, just keep this in mind when you stratagise!

Now the seal, as you can see the carvings on the stone are numerous, we need to get in there and break the damn things!

I loved the games, but I always felt they lacked the content and direction that could of had.
Especially considering the sequels did little to nothing to add to the formula.
