Why aren´t we seeing more battle damage on power armor?
Somehow on all pictures you only see fresh out of the forgeworld armors. I mean some of the armors are really old. Do they all get perfectly fixed or the broken parts replaced? I don´t think that power armors are allways that easy available.
In the forgeworld they also make spare parts so it's easily replaceable.Only a group of space marines who have been out for some long time has their armor damaged and weathered
>>44211668
>>44211842
This, plus marines tend to place great stock in maintaining their armor and weapons. If you're not fighting or training you're maintaining your stuff.
Unless you're a really poor chapter like the Marines Malevolent, battle damage is going to be something you either can repair when you're not fighting, or the armor parts can be easily replaced.
Also, in an outside the universe sense, armor without battle damage looks nicer and gives us a better sense of colors.
>What is this?
It's a question and answer session for a quest I hosted for the previous 10 days on /tg/
>Can I read more about it?

>Why are you hosting this event?
A lot of players had questions yesterday, so hopefully I can answer a few.
>I don't like your shitty quest and your shitty thread.
That's ok anon, but I always post quest-related threads with a trip on, so you can filter me!
Bring it on, boys.
>>44210994
Bumping to keep the thread alive until I return in 4-5 hours.
In the meantime, could you go into more detail about the different routes and what endings different choices in the last thread would have led to?
>>44210994
Nice, so, what would have happened specifically if we failed to help one or more of the girls?
>>44211491
>>44211561
Gonna give you some content.
"Exile" is the neutral ending only for the route you took.
In the other two routes, there's really nothing keeping Johnatahn in this dimension, so Exile is the good ending, while Destroy is the True Ending.
If you had chosen destroy, girls would have had a worse nightmare (i.e. Rin would have commented that she did, indeed, see the color of the meaning of life, but somebody erased it before she could memorize it).
The other two routes involve, as I said yesterday, either an alliance with Lilly or touching Emi's Core Heartache.
>>44211561
Like for example turning your back on Misha or killing Emi?
In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only war. Imperium of Man, once strong and proud, now is slowly crumbling, whole regions of space are lost to the horrors that lurk in the darkness of the void. Sector Deus is just one of the thousands of Imperial provinces that form the front line in the war to defend Humanity itself. Corruption from within and aggression from without threaten it. But the Emperor sends us hope. High Lords of Terra commissioned a Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, finest warriors Humanity has ever seen, to defend this region of space. They are the last line of defence that hold Age of Ruin at bay. They are the Ghosts of Retribution and this is their tale.

How much /x/faggotry do you like in your traditional games?
None.
>>44210402
Depends on my mood, really.
I absolutely love the odd weird-world / conspiracy / modern paranormal game, but I wouldn't want it in everything. Depends on the setting, I guess, or more precisely the general tone and mood - I can accept arbitrarily large amount of paranormal / fringe stuff if I'm expecting it and can accept it as taking place in the alternate universe where the /x/ worldview is accurate; if it's showing up in a different style of world I'd rather it be used much more sparingly. (Having it turn out there's a conspiracy to hide that the world is flat in an until-then serious modern game would be hard to accept.)

Rules
1. Each Turn is One Season
2. I will launch each season with a random event.
3. For you to take a valid turn you must link the new season random event and use the following format.
"Research"
"I want to research this type of technology"
(include a 1d20 roll if you wish to research)
"Build"
"I WIsh to build this random thing"
(No role required but you must have appropriate material)
"Trade"
"These are the trades I agreed upon last season"
(You can make as many as you want but they do not take effect untill you list them in your action the following turn"
"Citizen/people"
"I want to explore this/attack tha/ Build ships"
(This is how you use your population, Note exploring territory does not make it yours untill you sieve it with troops.)
4. You must have a name and a trip code. If two people claim the same spot It will go to the first person with a trip code
Lenqus :
>Steam Train
Combined with your previous research your scients manage to creat an amazing sight of steel and steam. Massive steam engines built in the famous Lenqus foundries mounted in the front cart create more then enough power The Lenqus Steam Trains.
> Iron Spire
Your builders creat a massive iron spire 80 feet tall in the center of your Heartland
>Settling the South West coast
You have a large happy population, your (king?)s decree to settle there is taken up by many pilgrims
>Albatros
>Research Trebuchets [19]
Your first attempts at creating wooden siege engines goes very well. You create Trebuchets that are 25' tall and can throw quarter ton boulder (500lbs)
> More Ships
You create 50 more galeons, how are they equip?
>Ivory arrowheads
Your people carve your entire supply of ivory to create enough arrowheads to equip your archers, you have crossbows correct? If not they will go to all your ship archers.
>Pirates and Sakes
20 ships carrying pirates arrive at your shores with crates of snakes and you give them 3000
gold
Baroxy Commonwealth
>Digging deeper [12]
After multiple tries and the loss of many lifes you put your iron picks to intense work. You have developed the technology [Deep Earth Mining] minerals that require more heat and preasure to create can only be found deep in the earth. Your gem mine is upgraded to a Diamond mine and coupled with your massive iron supply your iron mine is the single most productive iron mine in the world.
>build and send pirates advanced iron weapons
done, they have them.
>Attack
Your 6000 Swords secure the road way, not all the peasants called to join the militia deffense of the capitol and I'll roll the battle for the North most town shortly
Nourthern Soul
>Cannons on the steam tanks
One of Northern Souls world renown cannon is afixed to one of Greenlands Steamtanks with the previously researched mounting brackets, the first shot is so powerful it rips the top of the tank clean off.
[you do not make any headway at all however you did succed last time. The problem is not with your cannons or your mounting technologies, as I said the problem is the tank itself]
>Horses
You construct a breeding farm for your horses near your southern port city, one of the fastest growing cities in the world. This location is the best for the horses themselves.
>Malasian fortification
Your stone masons arrive to help fortify the capitol.
Greenland
>Tanks
your lead researchers on North pearl island stand with the researchers from Nourthern Soul and stare at a smoking steam tank, the top torn clean off. Your tanks remain unimproved.
>Bonus
Yes, however the difficulty of the project itself sometimes increades the dc of the roll needed
>Lighthouses
You construct towers with giant buring bon fires on the top all along your coast lines making it easier for your navy to sail at night.
>border expansion
You can claim the northern island but you will have to explore the southern islands before you can claim them
Perlushian Nomads
>town
I'm assuming you read the chart yx instead of xy becasue 27, 23 is in Baroxies terrotory, So I put the town at 23,27
>Star Metal [5]
though your smiths try for many hours, the star metal refuses to yield to your hammers
You should Probably think long and hard about the coming war as right now you are allowing hill and wood to let camel mounted soldiers pass through your lands to attack The Commonwealth
Pirates
>Steam Engine
You dont have any of the materials of technologies that led up to these,
>Port town
The Baroxy commonwealth I believe DID offer that to you
>You capture many crates of poisionous snakes though you lose 40 men to snake bites, however this gets you 3000 gold from Albatross
Hill and Wood
>steam engine
You develop a basic steam engine powered by coal fire, however it is not very large or powerful (yet)
> Settlement of farming communities
Your offer of land grands is taken up by many citizens looking for better lifes and two small communities sprout up, on on south western edge of your forrested farming the land near Sargeras's border, the other in the coastal land south of the mountains in your recently claimed land, very close to the Nomads new cheese making settlements,
> Your new shiny army attacks The Commonwealth
You should probably talk to the Nomads about sending troops through their lands however I will roll the battle shortly
Venicia
>Proppelar Air Ships[3]
Greenland and Nourthern Souls researchers are to busy to help out much and Lenqus is making major headway into steam trains to help out much. Though you have experienced pulots your attempts at (Mechanical?) propellars results in another crashed airship, though so much work has given you clews into future research
>A Bank and Money
The contruction of a bank in your capitol city[where is that, also your two towns so I can mark them] along with giving air travel discounts to those who use your new gem based currancy leads to their spread through every town with an airport, they also seem to be appearing in some major port cities
Your Air Ships draw many people, especially those with a brave and adventerous heart.
Yumatsu
>Dance and Music[12]
finally after years of practive your royal drummers can finally play a beat that doesnt make those from other nations cringe in horror an your dance, though nothing beautiful is at least somewhat graceful
> Public Baths
You construct public baths connected to your aquaducts.
>Summer Festival
You Hold one
A lot happened yesterday. I tried to run on a Tuesday evening which was a big mistake. It was a pretty dead thread, however I feel that at least at the end of it the plot was set in motion. I didn’t really anticipate the direction that people chose to go towards, which just goes to show how much of a newb I am. I’m not giving up though because of a hiccup in planning and poor scheduling however, and hopefully this time it will play out better.
Cheers, Dmitri

>Now back to the story
Recap:
You are Sergei Yegorovich, son of former Soviet citizens, first generation American, and first generation college student. You just experienced your move in day at college and celebrated by getting buzzed or in your parent’s case extremely inebriated at a local pub. You met a strange man who offered to give you and your parent’s a ride to a hotel, and in your case a ride back to campus. Unfortunately for you the strange man turned out to be the individual your father mentioned to you in your ride in the car on your way to college. The man’s revealed himself as only “Dr. Speranskii,” and you have no idea who he is, or what he even does for a living. But in the end, you were desperate for assistance, not wanting to get a DUI, or imprisoned for underage drinking. So you decided that his help was as good as any, and then…….
> Really back to the story
“Speranskii you son of a bitch!” your father yells from the back seat stirring as soon as he realizes where he is.
“Oh so you weren’t unconscious. Good to see you again Alexei!” Speranskii states with a wide grin, and a shuffling of his lab coat.
“Son what have you done?” your father asks you out of pure terror. “Didn’t I tell you to only see this man when you’re willing to offer something of value?” your father is shaking in fear at this point. It seems that he and Speranskii have a history. Something that he isn’t really excited to dig up after all these years.
“Oh don’t be such a stickler Alexei! All I need is a moment of your time…..” he begins to laugh maniacally at his terrible pun.
Your father knowing that something unexplainable to you, and your family is about to happen, hangs his head down in shame.
“Sorry dad, but I couldn’t risk getting busted for drunk driving!” you try to reassure him that everything will be okay. Although you aren’t exactly sure whether anything will be the same for you and your family.

The darkness fades away and you find yourself in front of a massive Palace near the coast of a bustling city. You look over to your left and you see Speranskii fumbling with the steering wheel and other devices on the dash. You look behind you and see that your dad is already sobered up, even if he was fairly inebriated just moments ago.
“Well, that could’ve gone better. It seems I shifted it into W, rather then Drive. How foolish of me, that usually never happens.” Speranskii mumbles to himself.
“What does “W” mean?" You ask, as you begin to look out the window and see and entourage of what looks to be Guards and Soldiers approaching your location.
What do you do?
> Listen to Speranskii’s explanation (roll 1d20+3 Engineering)

Where does the archetype of this demon hunting trench coat/hat crossbow guy come from? It pops up a lot and I don't know the origin.
I want to say Vampire Hunter D...but maybe it goes back as far as Solomon Kane?
>>44209765
I too think it was Vampire Hunter D. But Castelvania is also a strong competitor
Yeah, Solomon Kane is the oldest monster slayer I know off who rocked the coat/wide-brimmed hat combo. Didn't have a crossbow though, just pistols, sword and magic stick.
Is there any good generic/universal d20 system out there?
dumping some pdfs meanwhile
>>44210593
I'm a pretty big Jojo fan, can I ask if you think this one runs well? I've never used the fate system
Not gonna lie to you, OP, d20 doesn't usually make for a good universal system. Best you can do is refluff Mutants & Masterminds or Fantasy Craft for whatever campaign you want.
>>44209513
d20 itself (that is, the d20 OGL SRD) is generic and universal, although whether or not it's good is neither here nor there. Most d20 systems are the opposite of generic and universal, because they are intended to elaborate on that generic base. Some of them, like Pathfinder, tried to be "D&D but better". Others tried to emulate a specific IP, usually some anime or something. Asking for a generic d20 system is like asking for a generic GURPS splatbook -- the entire point of the system is to be generic, with specifics spread out across the different splatbooks. The only GURPS book that is actually generic is the core.
The only d20 system I can think of that is both relatively generic and quite polished (or so I've heard) is FantasyCraft. Unlike 3.PF, which both have tons of interlocking parts that can destabilize the entire system if you remove just one of them, FantasyCraft is highly modular, and you are supposed to pick and choose which rules are right for you as a group, again inviting comparisons GURPS. I'm not sure if SpyCraft is also d20, but I have also heard that it is both generic and good.
As a GM, do you think it's ever alright to fix rolls for the sake of the RP?
>>44208831
Yes. In fact, if an action must absolutely, positively succeed to keep the game moving forward, I won't even call for a roll in the first place.
>>44208831
Very rarely, but yes.
>>44208831
If you need to fix it, why did you call for a roll it in the first place?
Did Lex Luthor become the Emprah? It is said that Lorgar looked the most like the Emperor out of all the Primarchs, and he looks exactly like Lex. Logically it follows that the Emperor must have looked like Lex as well. Is it really so unlikely that a highly charismatic, alien-hating genius like Lex Luthor could have been the Emperor in an early stage?
MMMM! Heretics!
>>44209818
I thought I was going to hate that casting
But I loved it
>>44208246
No. Lorgar is Lex Luthor. The Emperor is a very old and jaded Superman who has decided to take a more direct role in humanity.
I'm thinking about getting a box of cards for my playgroup to draft on christmas. Objectively what is the best draft set? Alternatively what is the best drafting experience under $250?
>>44208065
There is no one perfect draft set,
but FYI, Innistrad, Zendikar, and Modern Masters are all fairly well received.
Ok so perhaps a better question might be what was your favorite draft set and why?
I recently got back into Magic from casually playing from onslaught until mirrodin (never drafted just played kitchen table with friends) so I've missed a lot.
>>44208065
So long as you guys aren't cutthroat competitive, conspiracy is really a great casual draft set. It's explicitly designed for multiplayer and politicking, which might be for you or might not.
Does the Jedi council pair hot padawans with powerful senators often? Is that why they have so much political sway?
>>44207788
Na, the Jedi Council are terrified of sex because once upon a time this one thing happened and therefore never ever again forever and ever.
No because senators are not allowed to have sex, it's in the rules.
>>44207818
[Ryloth senators grumbling loudly]
New BFG:A trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfBjZTm8IV4
Micro warp jumps to dodge a torpedo barrage seems like a terrible idea.
>>44207366
Needs to be a RNG attached to each jump for Hilariously Bad Things happenings. If not, needs to be one of the first damn mods somebody makes.
I am very, very excited about this game. It's looks beautiful and they really seem to have nailed the feel of the setting. Nice to see a few little shots of the Eldar ships in there as well.
>>44207366
Is it wrong that all I want to see right now is a wave of Brute Ramships slam into a Battleship?
>Robot comes from the future terminator style.
>For some reason, it's giving the present technology from the future and the future notable items from the past.
Explain why.
>>44207339
It's trying to make the past into the future and the future into the past so as to reverse the flow of time
>>44207339
The robot is from the far future, where the civilisation from the present has wiped themselves out due to nuclear war/climate change/aliens/magic/whatever, and a new civilisation has taken its place and grown to the point where it can make time travelling robots. The technology from the future exists to combat that issue, and hopefully ensure that the current race survives up to the future that the robot came from.
The robot is taking notable items to his future because they're needed, either as antiques to sell for a shit load of digital cash or because the techniques needed to make them are lost due to data loss/memory wiping/lost papers/whatever.
>Alternate theory: Robot comes from the far future where the current civilisation has fallen and a new one has risen, and is just a massive fucking weeb for the present civilisation's culture, and wants them all to live with him in his future while taking key items to adorn his awkward [present civilisation] shrine he's kept in his manufacturing box.
>>44207339
Time travel is risky and the supercomputer that sent it back doesn't want to risk destroying everything just to give its minion slightly better technology.
