Piqued my interested. Where do we start?
so we dont have to make a thread for every damn character
I don't think you understand stat me threads.
The people who make them don't actually care about the character's stats. They just want to talk about the character on /tg/ instead of on wherever you're supposed to talk about the character or the show/video game/movie/book/comic/webcomic/commercial/cereal box they're from.

I'm tempted to post a "stat me" thread some day with a cereal box character now.

Wouldn't be the first time.
After many adventures of considerable renown, your travels take you (and your party)into a small town where you take a break. There, you meet several young children who have heard tales of your exploits and are completely enamored with you and your legend. Probably, you told them a couple extra stories, maybe even did a couple autographs. A couple of them even show off their practice weapons they created and are running through the streets play-fighting. Eventually, a couple of them admit they've been so inspired by you that they want to become adventurers just like you. If nothing else, they were hoping you could provide a bit of advice to them to help them in the right direction.
tl;dr - What piece(s) of advice would your character give to young impressionable minds looking to get into the adventuring game?
Stay in school, eat your vegetables; you need both to grow a great big wizard brain.
The same I say to everybody

Can anybody fill me in on Wilhelm Getrell and the Recombination Group? It seems like they had a pretty vast influence on the current state of the world.

I'd like some explanation here as well. I've been trying to get through the rulebooks but it's pretty dense and so far my understanding of the RG is as some kind of nebulous conspiracy.
Warhammer Fantasy General, focused on the fluff and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. 1st and 2nd Edition, but discussion on 3rd Edition and the Tabletop is welcomed... ish.

Outstanding questions:
>how can you die from falling off a horse?
>how do you end up choking on a pie without choking your GM?
End Times and Age of Shitmar need not apply.
Here's a question:
Why does WHFRP2 split up each Arcane and Divine Lore into three lores when it adds more spells in Realms of Sorcery and Tome of Salvation, if you still have to pick spells individually anyway?
Why not just let you pick freely from the associated spells?
For example, if you are an Amber Wizard, Lore of Beasts, you cannot take The Beast Broken, The Beast Made Well, and The Beast Unleashed, because there are three spell lists, Elemental, Mystical, and Cardinal, and none includes all three.
It seems like a very odd restriction to me. Realms of Sorcery says "With more spells per lore, the rules from the WFRP core rulebook need some revision lest Wizards gain more power without cost."
But you still have to pay experience to pick any spells whatsoever, so it's very, very odd to me. Both narratively (it seems very artificial - why would this restriction exist?) and mechanically (what's the point?). Or am I just missing something?

Hello /tg/
Let's brainstorm some ideas for random encounters/locations in the wilderness.
Don't need no combat related ones, we all have a bestiary to choose from, let's try to come out with original things to create good scene settings.
Also, let's try to keep it low fantasy-low magic, there's still the chance to build up high on that after.
I'll start with some forest related ones.
- Waystone of token ancient civilization, touching it gives images of the surrounding land.
- Remains of a summoning circle, hinting at a ritual going down some [time] ago.
- Roadside memorial or grave marker, an excuse for fluff exposition
- An abandoned camp. Could be loot in there, or not. Could be signs of what happened and who was there, or not.
- a group of hunters throwing a roadside party, celebrating the youngest's first successful hunt
- a horse coming down the road, all barded and maybe with personal effects on, but without any rider
- a bruised traveller who got robbed, and trying to get help or a ride to the nearest town. May be a bandit, or not.
- remnants of a big fight that happened, broken bodies and weapons. Maybe no bodies.
- young child wandering around. Maybe he is lost, maybe he went off to join the army, maybe he wanted to go to the city, maybe he is running from abusive parents.
- small roadshrine of god of the wilds, or of a traveller god. May give the party blessings, depending on your height of fantasy or your GM cruelty.
- two elves having sex in a clearing, very embarassed to have the adventurers walk in on them
- a cottage inhabited by an old woman, who is said to have strange abilities. The party initially can't tell whether she's helpful or sinister.

It wouldn't be necessary for everyone, but stuff like that might help springboard some ideas for people who don't want to play in one of the two game worlds already established.
The Brazen of Pearl doesn’t depart immediately once you’re aboard. It spends several days finishing up its refueling cycle, giving you ample time to get acclimated to your new home. The actual act of moving into your quarters is simple enough. You only brought the one bag with you, after all. Most of it clothing. The contents don’t even begin to fill your walk-in closet. And even spread out your remaining possessions hardly give the impression that someone actually lives here. Simply put, you’re out of your element. House Girad may have had significant holdings back on Kessae, but nothing like this.
Your quarters aren’t the only oddity. In your initial attempt to be social you’ve attended several breakfasts in the Officer’s Mess. Largely informal and more an excuse to consume copious amounts of recaff, you’ve only met a few fresh faces thus far. The first being Arch Militant Ruhr. A somewhat stocky fellow with a crimson flattop, he’s the Chief Bosun. When he caught sight of you in the Mess he made it a point to sit next to you and make conversation. Mostly about whether your accommodations were to your liking and which decks you might frequent. The latter question confused you at first until you realized he was trying to get a feel for how many people need to be warned about you. A Navigator outside of their Sanctum is generally a rare occurrence, after all. Without proper warning it could cause a sort of panic or nervousness among the crew. Such is the price of being social you suppose. For the time being you’ve told Ruhr that you don’t plan to stray below deck three. He seemed content with that and has since left you to your own devices.

All rolls will go against a specified characteristic in the style of Rogue Trader. You’ll want to roll under the characteristic value in order to pass the check. The more degrees of success (every multiple of 10 counts as 1), the more awesome of a result. A 1 is a guaranteed success, and a 100 is a guaranteed failure. Best of three rolls when it’s called for, with a 1 or a 100 instantly taking precedence. If you see multiple characteristics being called for, each 1d100 counts for its respective test.
If you have any questions/etc, just shout.

The other individual you’ve gotten to know is the First Officer, Seneschal Lion. Built like an Ogryn, he stands tall above almost everyone aboard. Yet what’s most imposing about him is his voice. Every word carries the unsaid-weight of someone who’s an expert in both matters of trade and matters of the ship. Lion has always been the first person to arrive in the Mess in the morning. Often hidden behind a dataslate, your guess is that he uses this time to catch up on all the reports that came in during the night cycle. He’s not said much to you besides polite greetings, but even that little cements your impression that this is someone you want on your side.
The individual that stands out the most, however, is the woman who joins your table for breakfast on the third day. Unlike the other white-uniformed officers, the pony-tailed blonde is clad in a tight-fitting, armored body glove and sporting two chain blades at her side. She gets straight to the point while waiting for her omelets to arrive.
“You are Navigator Primaris Senka, are you not?”
Your fork pauses on its way to your mouth. “What gave it away?”
She flashes a smile, continuing, “Born 059.M41 to Sephera and Pontius Girad, fifth in line of succession, and one of the thousand who survived the Silent Golden incident.”
“You’ve done your homework I see,” you say, setting your fork back down to give her your full attention.
“I’d be terrible at my job if I didn’t.” She places a hand on her breast for emphasis. “I am Mistress of Whispers, Nelia. It’s my understanding you’re without proper guard thanks to some excitement on the way here.”
“That’s correct,” you admit. For a spymaster she’s certainly filling the role well.
“Then it’s my duty to see you given a new one. What’s your preference? In view and imposing, or hidden and deadly?”

The adventurers would all be psychopathic killers deep down trying to murder the poor 'evil' overlord who just wants to sleep in his comfy castle.
LAST WEEK, IN THE PREVIOUS SESSION, I, AKU, SHAPESHIFTING DM OF DARKNESS UNLEASHED AN UNSPEAKABLE EVIL UPON THE PLAYER CHARACTERS. BUT A FOOLISH SAMURAI WIELDING A MAGIC SWORD DARED TO OPPOSE ME. BEFORE THE CAMPAIGN WAS DERAILED, I TORE OPEN A PORTAL THAT WAS MY FRONT DOOR, AND FLUNG HIM OUT OF MY HOUSE, WHERE MY EVIL IS LAW. NOW HE SEEKS TO UNDO THE CAMPAIGN THAT IS RUN BY AKU.
So my campaign is gearing up to go full-on plague mode. You know the deal; disease spreading among the population, panic running through the streets, bodies being carried to the cemetery by the cartload, Churches unable to keep up with the need for healing, etc.
What I need is ideas for "quests" I can weave into the overall plot. Vignettes and setpieces that push the horror atmosphere (ideally without delving into the generic "undead everywhere" style) of the city.
So /tg/, can you help me brainstorm some ideas?
Seriously, guys I'm completely tapped for ideas right now.
Depends on what your PCs are. If they are mercenaries i would suggest having them protect a shipment of all too rare medicine on its way the clerics or whoever is in charge of distributing healing and supplies. Plague victims attack the shipment desperate for medicine and knowing that there isn't enough to go around.
This is assuming that your PCs are mercs, of course. if not you could have them see a shipment getting attacked, perhaps with guards defending it with brutal force on the weak plague ridden victims.
A bunch of nobles gathered together in a manor to have a party and take their minds off of the shit going down amongst the filthy peasants.
The music stopped just after midnight. Nobody has come out. The guards that went to investigate have yet to return.
Patiently, you let the daylight dry away the lingering water off your skin. It’s almost time.
Nearby, two children put the finishing touches on an elaborate sandcastle. Walls are tapped down and towers are made just right, as the bright blue tide begins to lap at their feet and the base of their structure. Giggling, they resign to fall back and get a better look at their work. They stop near you.
The carefully formed white sand morphs under the rhythmic tides, forming bizarre, precarious, and above all temporary shapes not possible with the human hand. The water leaves a brilliant glisten to the sand making the fleeting sights before you all the more unique. The children don’t lament the collapse of their time and effort, but instead gasp quietly in awe with each transformation.
The three of you watch as soon all that remains is a small smoothed mound of sand.
One of the children finally turns away from water and gazes up at you. She startles as if suddenly seeing you just now. “I know you!” She points right at your face. “You were a Crest Rider in their festival.”
The rail system took you far from your hometown, but that sort of thing apparently doesn’t matter.
Her companion quickly turns to join. “Oh, it is him!” He looks to his friend. “My grandma said he was the best one.”

>>44232331
The girl face brightens even further and she claps her hands together. “Fisher!” She pulls on her friend’s arm. “He’s the one that’s going to the frontier.”
They’re really jumping the gun with that one, considering that the Practical Examination deciding that fate isn’t for another half hour.
“That’s so cool, Fisher. When are you leaving, Fisher?” The boy beams politely at you.
Alright, they may not trying to be disrespectful at all, but hearing that name repeatedly really pisses you off.
You sigh, pull on your shirt, and scratch your chin. At the very least you’re going to have to set them straight about how you’ve yet to take the exam.

I would like to run a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game for my friends. Is there a system for it? Has anyone seen/used it? S.T.A.L.K.E.R. thread, I suppose.
I havn't seen a dedicate STALKER system.
I would say that GURPS is probably your best bet. Not because "HURF GURPS RUNS EVERYTHING HURF DURF" but because GURPS does gunplay well, specifically.
Ops and tactics.
We did AFMBE but it's really rooted in zombie horror so GURPS would be better because it's broader spectrum.
Hey /TG/
What's your favorite RPG system? Why you like it?
>>44223820
Mutants and Masterminds 3e, because it's the first game I've played with my amazing group and it's a fairly easy system to understand once you get into it and it's also incredibly versatile.
>>44223820
Talislanta, because it had a very simple and flexible skill and magic system in the 1980s and the world isn't your typical Euro-Medieval-Tolkien Land.

I'm interested (or any superhero rpg in general). Any chance you can spin why I should play this system?
Is it possible to play a good fascist?
By good, I mean your DnD definition. Good is a tangible force in the world, it's own agency, opposed by evil.
And I do not use fascist as a synonym for tyrant, or totalitarian (though it could be those things.)
If so, what is the best way to approach this system of governance?
If not, what is the closest one can come to a totalitarian utopia?
>>44213630
This is going to get a ton of redirects to >>>/pol/, but I don't see why you couldn't. Just don't kill innocent people and steal and you're good.
>>44213630
If you just describe the economic aspect of Italian or German fascism without actually using the word fascism, like 90% of people will agree that it sounds like a good idea. In fact, most people wouldn't be able to meaningfully distinguish it from how the government interacts with capital today.
Like most dangerous political ideologies it seems like a really cool idea until you get to the part about actually implementing it and how much power needs to be concentrated in the hands of a small number of people for it to work.
>>44213630

Then go read about the plane of Arcadia.
