Summary of our rolls
>We are a warband split from the World Eaters Traitor Legion
>We are fanatical about the worship of our Chaos 'God' Who happens to be a Daemon Prince we believe to be a god
>We believe that acheiving Daemonhood is tantamount to becoming a god, and greatly revere those who have
>Unlike many other Chaos Warbands, or the weak Imperium of man, we are willing to work alongside Xenos to get what we want, even allow them to fight alongside our warband more frequently, making us far more tolerant for them
>We have issues sleeping, most likely due to the warping of our Butchers nails cybernetics to bar us from truly restful slumber
>We believe that loudly venerating our Dark God is the only way to be, and that our foes should know who it was that killed them
>Other than our god, a Sorcerer Lord Leads us, most likely in the worship of our Daemon Prince
>He killed a mighty hero of the Imperium, bringing glory to himself and the Warband
>We live on an airless fortress planetoid, a great asteroid that is also our equivalent of a fortress monastery
>We make heavy use of Cultisrs, using them as cannon fodder against our enemies to distract them and overwhelm them with numbers
>We are endangered, small in number after a brutal internal conflict within our Warband
>We are allys with the mysterious Fra'al race, trading slaves, cultists and anything else for weapons as well as calling on their aid when required'
>Our sworn enemy is a specific Inquisitor or Inquisitorial force
>We use corrupted and stolen Eldar Witchblades to increase our Psychic powers

Alright, lets get our symbol out of the way, it is most likely the symbol of our god. What is his holy symbol? Also like the other chaos gods, what's his holy number?

Also, pic is definitely one of our Psyker-zerkers

Still any ideas for our holy symbol or Number?

So, I've been in the same tabletop group since forever. When I first joined, I was the youngest member out of a group of ten. But as the years drifted by, literally everyone has moved away, quit tabletop games, or fucking died and have been replaced by shitty kids who never stay in character, never roleplay, and always become murderhobos. It's the worst. I have hopped on the gamefinder threads and found games that under most circumstances, would consider awful and still had a better time DM'ing or playing with that group. Now before you say:
>Why the fuck haven't you left ?
Two reasons:
Reason 1: The first DM and the member who died, wanted us to keep the group together no matter what. It was pretty much his deathbed wish. I would bet a million dollars that the minute I left, that group would desove. Thats if we don't go by the Argos Paradox and the group is technically still the original.
Reason 2: The kids are having a great time and are enjoying the sessions far more then I do. Most of them are complete fucking losers and if this group devolved, they probably wouldn't have any friends left too. Also there is a vain hope that I can actually teach them to roleplay.
So what do I do /tg/ ? Should I just fucking leave ?

>I've got a serious question /tg/
Well, for starters, are you sure we're the right people to ask?
>So what do I do /tg/ ? Should I just fucking leave ?
Yes. You're not obliged to some spastic losers and you've carried legacy of the dead man far enough. Sounds to me like it's time to move on.

I've no idea what that means.

I'm trying to make a punishment game deck to use with other board/card games. The intent is for it to work well with a mixed group of people, so mundane, minorly annoying tasks.

Ex: Sing the Barney theme song, no one else may join you.

Hum, that actually explains a lot.
>>
I GM'd a game a couple of years ago, that guy ragequat because I refused to be impressed by his being "badass". Got me a couple of good ideas for later games, we'll see how it goes. We switched to SWD6.

I bought VtM for te first time when I was eleven or twelve. WW switched to nWoD pretty soon thereafter, I was buttdevastated for years. The book still has some pages that smell the same as fifteen years ago (holy fuck), and it has been a source of inspiration the entire time I've owned it. I've never played as much as I wanted to, and I think this one thread summed it up pretty well, saying: "oWoD was never for /tg/, but for /lit/." I don't really know a lot of /lit/ people, so I guess people haven't really been interested in the stories I think of when I think VtM. But man, the imaginary rushes that fucking book has given me.

I'm going to try to remember some stories, but I doubt there are any. It's simply not a game I've played a lot.

I'm thinking about running a freeform roleplay for my friends where they play as Imperial Guardsmen.

The only thing is they know literally nothing about the 40k universe other than the fact that the space marines exist essentially

I'm seeing this as an opportunity to really put them in the mindset of the average guardsman who would probably know jackshit about whatever he was fighting.

Do you have any tips on how I could make this better/what a guardsman might actually know?
37 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
>>46587161
Totally depends on the Guardsman, I advice you to start as guys in a newly formed regiment from a peacefull planet that either hasn't seen much war. If your players want to play characters that are not new to combat you can easily just let them roll former gangmembers (that way they only ever fought other non-heretic humans) or police-officers/bouncers/hunters. That way the charaacters of your player have no clue whats out there in the galaxy.
>>
Before the battle have an Officer conduct a poor, vague and incorrect overview of the enemy they'll be fighting, then have it go to shit as the misinformed guardsman stand no hope against some 40k enemy.

As far as what a guardsman would know, to limit the amount of knowledge they would have make them the planetary defence of some backwater planet rather than from a famous regiment.

They'll have knowledge about their equipment and basic knowledge about the Emperor (Savior of humanity for some reason etc,).

As far as their knowledge about space marines go, make them semi-legendary soldiers who no one from the guardsman has actually ever seen.

http://www.mtggoldfish.com/metagame/pauper

>Which rules should I follow?
If you don't already have some homebrew version with friends, follow the MTGO card pool and banlist (and please spread this to your friends that start playing with you). Currently the only place Pauper is officially supported by Wizards is online, and they have a card pool and banlist, therefore that is the format we should be using offline on paper as well, since decks and cards can transfer to games between each other with no confusion.

>WAHHH THATS TO HARD WHERE...
http://www.mtg-hunter.com
The bottom left has a box, select MTGO Pauper, all cards in the card pool and banlist are taken into account.

>What deck should I use?
Ask in the thread!

>Is MTGO worth it?
If you have no local paper competition, but want to play a vast amount of Pauper, it can't be beat, even if it is a clunky GUI, you learn quickly.

Some good decks for newbies include but are not limited to:
>Burn
>Elves
>Goblins
>Stompy
>Slivers
>Affinity
>Mono U control

The Alpha, Mimic, Stalker, Brute and Puker have escaped their prison and made it to the surface. With the alpha leading the hordes of zombies in its wake, the zombies have arrived in a large and empty construction site. The employees who evacuated have long gone and they are surrounded by woodland. The night is bright with a cloudless sky, stars illuminating the road outside the construction site. There is a signpost with a sign pointing left saying “Halperin City” and 2 signs right saying “Ash Cabin” and “Brooksville”

The mimic is currently wearing a lab coat and has a keycard and pistol, although hasnt figured out how to use it yet.
The alpha has a pistol too and can use it but poorly. The alpha may also every turn issue orders to the horde of zombies.
All rolls are made on a 1d100. During combat roll 2D100, first number will be attack and 2nd will be how well you defend against their counter attack. May also roll for perception of environment to check for things.

>26 tough zombies
>14 shredder
>5 smart zombies
>4 toxic zombies

>Pick a zombie
Feral – Blends in with other zombies, fast, agressive, well balanced
Stalker – Licker like, climbs walls, damaging but a glass cannon
Brute – A giant lumbering machine, slow and stupid but very strong
Armoured – Covered in bone plates, slightly smaller than brute, very tough
Toxic – Surrounded by toxic cloud, dangerous to be near, can exhume larger clouds
Puker – Can puke acidic vomit, good grappler, can improve range
Alpha – Smartest zombie, can use tools and command other zombies
Mimic – Can imitate voices it hears, change shape to a limited degree, smart

You've got to admit, Howa really is good at massages. You hadn't realised how tense and sore your muscles were until after she had worked her magic on them.

Considering your career, the “magic” part might have been literal, a discrete application of some healing power handed down from a kindly god. If that is the case, then you've just been given one more reason to be a faithful servant of the gods. Then again, maybe it wasn't just the massage that lies at the root of your strangely good mood – there were, after all, other things to take into account.

But why shouldn't you enjoy some time off? You've worked hard, and every one of these little moments has been earned. You need to snatch these opportunities while you can, and hold their memories close to heart while you're away from the pleasures of home. Soon, you fear, you'll need their warmth again.

Putting down roots is a luxury that you just don't have. Not yet.

Still, you can linger here, in the Nameless Temple, for a while longer. Tomorrow, Koa – your apprentice, even though you can't pinpoint the moment you began to think of him in that way – is set to fight his first formal duel. Calling it formal might be a stretch, though – he'll be fighting against a rival, one nursing an unhealthy grudge against him. You want to be there when they cross swords, to make sure the process goes smoothly if nothing else.

You feel Howa's warmth against your body, her bare breast pressing against your side as she rolls over and trails a lazy finger across your chest. It would be easy for her to trace maps of scar tissue, but she is careful to avoid one particular knot of flesh – the patch over your heart, a memento from a fight you'd rather not recall. As you lie together, you slowly explain how the soldiers that had surrounded the Nameless Temple came to leave. Orders from above, from the Emperor's advisor himself.

“You'll need to thank him in person,” Howa remarks, her voice soft in the dimly lit room, “You can't just write him a letter, not for something like this.”

You're aware of that, you sigh, and you've been meaning to visit the capital for a while. It's just...

“A long ride,” Howa finishes for you, “I know, I know. Ah, poor Ira – having to go to all these far away places and meet all these exciting people.”

A privilege she rarely gets the chance to experience, thanks to a crippling injury. Even now, you know that her false leg is laid out across the floor, half hidden by discarded clothing. It's slightly off-putting, actually. Like having something staring at you – but then, with your blind and ghoulish eye, do you really have any room to complain?

>Most of these “exciting” people end up trying to kill me, you know
>We'll go to the capital together one day, I promise

As promised, it's time for another exciting episode of the Unseen civilization!

But first, a quick recap of what we have so far.

>We are the Unseen. A race living in a massive underground cave. Physically weak and poor combatants, we're gifted diplomats and have a talent for illusion magic. Our cave opens up to a dense jungle.

>A group of cultists, worshipping the sun, escaped from our caves to live on the surface. We have since opened up diplomatic contact with them, and they don't seem to bear us much ill will.

>We've established a small religion of our own. This spider cult is being used to encourage people to have more children and places importance in strong family bonds. Not many people are members of this cult, but it's slowly gaining in popularity.

>We've managed to train a reliable, if not overly powerful, group of illusionists to help us in many way. One of our mages even discovered the secret of pyromancy. We've also learned magical hypnotism, though it only works on animals.

>After some effort, we have started creating our own written language. Though crude and simple, this is a great step forward in the development of our culture.

>We've discovered one other sapient race so far, the Scorpion-People. We've learned their language and make them our friends, and got them to help set up an orchard. We're relying on illusions to interact with them. Letting them see our true form might make them less happy to work with us. In time, these powerful warriors could become useful allies, valuable slaves, or terrifying enemies.

>If there are several suggestions that appear to be equal, I'll either chose one at random or call for a tie-breaker.
>There's no need to roll for actions unless I ask for it. So please don't.
>When I do ask for a roll, a single d100 will usually suffice. If not, I'll specifically mention what to roll.
>We're all in this to have fun. Try to stay civil, even when you think people are making dumb choices. Bad behaviour is more disrupting than bad decisions
