What would a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by robots look like? With robots as the successors and reclaimers, not destroyers.

Humans exist in small pockets: underground fortresses, and cultivated lands sustained by huge air purifiers. Many undergo cybernetic enhancement to protect themselves from the bad air of this strange new world.

There was a /tg/ homebrew like this a while back. The humans went extinct or disappeared, and all the machines had to figure out what to do with themselves. They had to collect leftover human thoughts and ideas from digital networks and each other because they were incapable of original thought on their own.

Try Fate Accelerated, it's simple and focuses more on roles than rolls. Less math and nitty gritty.

I really don't understand this mentality of having children just so that you can play RPGs with them.

I'm sorry but you are really going to throw away 20 years of your life and nearly a million bucks, just for some romanticized idea of playing roleplaying games with your children? Is it really worth that much to you?

Think what you could buy with that money. A shitton of Maverick 88s and other cool-ass guns. A full-on Lego Stopmotion studio. You'd never have to work again. Just wake up and play with Lego. And play RPGs whenever you wanted. Also the best computer gaming rig in existence.

I mean, what the fuck.

>>47336419

> it's simple and focuses more on roles than rolls

If I had a penny for every RPG that shoves this in your face as an advertising point with no fucking backup, I'd probably be able to afford a child to play RPGs with. But he'd more likely want to go play Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 because kids are wankers.

No but yes.... Generally I shy away from such things as I hold a persons free will and right to choose their way of life as paramount. However in marvel I picked up a power that lets me control the popularity of people, things and ideas. Allowing me to make something be viewed in the best or worst light possible. I try and tread lightly with that power but I also tend to start businesses and try and enact social changes like supporting green energy and generally don't be an ass hole so yeah I am a total Hypocrite. However I try and use my hypocrisy for good purposes. That however doesn't make me less of a hypocrite... I am just trying to give a gentle nudge in what I believe is the right direction.

I've been watching Deep Space Nine and I'm interested in running a campaign in that setting. I'm not sure of the system yet, but I'm wondering if there are any good sources for learning all of the history, races, etc... of the Star Trek universe? Besides the wiki. of course, I'm more interested in knowing if there's a guide or something similar.

Otherwise, general Star Trek lore thread, ask questions, make baseless conjecture, post fun facts or anything else you want.

Star Trek is pretty awesome, especially if you ignore the Voyager/Enterprise era since it introduces the MOST contradictions and irreconcilable differences of the entire series.

For space combat, remember that the ranges involved are realistic. While they may have shown both ships on screen at the same time in The Next Generation, they hardly ever did that in the Original Series and ALL RANGES STATED IN DIALOGUE ARE IN THE TENS TO HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF KILOMETERS! Remember that. What is shown on screen for the convenience of the audience is different from the insane power of antimatter driven cruisers that can break open reality itself as a standard operation.
>>
>>47331456
I fucking love you. I've never watched voyager or enterprise, I like the concept of voyager based on what I read, but I heard they delivered it terribly.

Interesting stuff. Do you know much about the whole warp system? They mention it a lot, but I actually don't know much of what the jargon means or how the ships function mechanically.

>Hey Aspel I got some ideas for your geist update.
>Sin-Eaters are treated as a Anchor for ghost that have died from the same threshold as the Sin-Eater.
>Sin-Eaters can create the open condition for ghost that have died the same threshold as the Sin-Eater. By spending 1 plasm as an instant action. Instead by spending 3 plasm they create the open conditions for all ghost.
>Any ghost activating a Manifestation Effects when near a Sin-Eater receives a bonus equal to the Sin-Eater Honorary Rank.
>>47324762
I was actually just going to have Sin-eaters be treated as having the Anchor Condition in general, due to the way Anchors have changed between editions. That encourages ghosts to seek out Sin-eaters beyond the general "treat them as being a graveyard" thing from 1e. Or maybe it was Open? Whichever. Either way, when a ghost is around a Sin-eater, they won't have to worry about things like Essence loss.

I wish I wasn't so reluctant to work on that homebrew for a lot of reasons. It feels weird and a little illegal to rewrite the entire game, and I feel like no one will actually use the rules anyway. And that's on top of feeling like they're going to announce Geist 2e any day now.

I know people are casually interested in the homebrew, but is anyone actually trying to use this stuff or hoping to use it?
>>
>>47324955
Im already using most of the stuff you have put out for my player. My group also have an upcoming coming game a someone is waiting for you to finish before playing a sin-eater.

Previously you heard Tabby's story about her time in the palace and why she wanted to kill the now dead merchant woman. According to her, the woman was a cruel, sadistic monster that would torture her and the others mercilessly. However, she swore she was dead when she got there and that she immediately came home after she saw what had happened.

Afterward, the three Nine Tails spies aboard your ship came forward as Kakei promised, revealing their identities and explaining everything they know about the murders.

You then examined the crime scene and managed to find a small pouch of poison used to feign death. Upon taking it to Wong, the only person in the city you know that would know about where to find something like that. He said he doesn't sell the stuff and told you to look elsewhere, then hurried you out of his shop like usual.

Then, you gathered up Tabby and the twins (whom you're pretty sure view themselves as your personal bodyguards now) and headed to the burnt out town of Blakkaz so the poor redhead could pay her respects. Little did you know, Blakkaz wasn't quite abandoned and two men were still hanging out outside, apparently living in the ruins; Devith and Chris. Tabby apparently knows them, but is just as shocked to see them there as you were.

Welcome back to Beast in the Sky Quest!

"Devith?" Tabby asks, stepping in front of you, "Chris? Wh...you're alive?"

The man in robes looks even more shocked for a moment, but visibly relaxes a bit when he sees Tabby. The drunk stares for a second, squinting. "Tabby? Th' fuck?" his speech is slurred and slow, "I though' y'were dead! How th'fuck you survive?"

"I could ask you the same thing, Devi." Tabby retorts, approaching the duo, "Is...is anyone else...?" Devith shakes his head wearily, spreading his arms wide.

"Welc'm t' the town of Blak'z; pop'ylatshn two."

"You've...been here the whole time?" she asks, shocked. "But...why?"

Devith scoffs at this. "Where we 'onna go, huh? Hueits? J's fuck around in the forest an' hope t'find some hidden village'a elfs or somethin'? We got nothin', red. Why'd your ginger ass c'm back? Hopin' t'loot some charcoal?" he laughs at this, almost falling backward, "Who's y'r frien's?" he points vaguely in your direction.

Welcome one, and I welcome you all to the tale of a world called Thespia.

Here is the odyssey of one that clings to this world with no face of their own! In a place where magic is fundamental to all of creation, from the ancient origins of Leviathan seas and behemoth lands, zephyr winds, and phoenix fires. All things in this world has a life and voice. Yet they are only heard by those that listen.

The Faceless, a being of eldritch origins, arose from the bottom of a well. Many a folk tale in Thespia says that only two things reside at the bottoms of wells, "Evil and wishes."
Since returning to the surface land wearing the face of another, The Faceless has encountered many friends and foes in their journeys as they switch faces and live the lives of others.
The question that persists? Which face is his own? And where will his adventures lead as he twists the fate of this cursed world.

Traveling now as the Eternal Dancer, Belinda the Beautiful, the Faceless's party makes its way to Celes Prance, a Namour city built upon a lake.

The three of you head to the tanner on Avice street, finding the place fairly quickly by the scent of curing leathers wafting down into even the alleyways. A sign overhead in the shape of a laughing dog betrays the place's name as Sea Hound's Leathery. Victoria blinks at the name and stops at the door as you and Odette enter, likely contemplating the sign. Strange girl.

You're not greeted right away as the people inside are busy beating out hides, curing, and working them. This early in the morning, it's no doubt that they'd want to get their projects started so they can focus on other work.

With the case of Dire hides occupying both of Oddette's arms, you get to ring the tiny bell at the counter. One of the people in the back perks up, and instantly a wide smile weaves wide across their face as they hurry up to the two of you, abandoning his work, “Ah, welcome, welcome! What can I interest you travelers in today? Leathers for travel, work, something fancier maybe or are we looking for a fur coat or blanket? If the gems are good we'll have it for you.” The Drezhar's eyes are concealed by his fox-like expression as he rubs his hands almost impatiently awaiting your order.

“We're actually here to sell you fine hides my good sir.” You say, with a clearing of your throat against the hearty smell of the hides being treated in the back.

The man's eyes peer open for a moment, looking between the two of you with a suddenly less than pleasant expression before reaffirming his merchant's smile. “Ah, yes, yes... So you're seeking business with us then. What do we have today my fine friends?”

Odette looks sidelong at you as though to say, “This one's going to be more trouble.” before putting the large case upon the counter.
“We have a fine kill for you sir. Hides of monstrous Dire Wolves.”

The man's eyes peer open again, his reptilian greed apparent in his eyes, “Oh?”
>>
>>47342073

Odette opens the case, and the wretched smell of the week-long dead hides wafts into the room, mingling with the curing salts and smell of raw flesh about the place.

“They stink.” The man's nose twitches as he reaches for one of the hides, stopping a bit short, “May I?”

“You may.” You say with an endearing smile.

The clerk pulls out one of the hides, examining the state of the fur as well as the hide itself. He flecks of specks of red and black matter with gloved hands as he looks them over. “This is terrible, the edges are charred and there are all manner of burns and holes in these. The skinning work is sloppy at best. This well never do for top quality.”

ou feel a bit disheartened at hearing that...

“I can offer five topaz at best.” The man says just as Victoria enters, his eyes shift to observe her entry before carrying on to ignore her. “There are ten hides here, all in all it'll be fifty topaz if you seek to sell them all.”

“Yeah, that sounds-”

“Awful!” Victoria bellows despite her diminutive size. She's so loud in fact that some of the workers in the back pause to check out what's going on.

“Five topaz for dire hides? At the very least they should be offered for five sapphire a piece. They are a rare commodity among tanners and the leather made from them triumphs over even the finest of steel armors with less than half of the weight. Such an exchange is only valuable for you greedy sir!”

Seeing that you seem a bit lost, Victoria rolls her eyes, “In Gem trade, Quartz are the most invaluable while Emeralds are the most valuable. A hundred quartz equates to one topaz, ten topaz equates to a ruby, ten rubies a sapphire, and two sapphires are worth an emerald.”

“What about diamonds?” Odette asks as she listens to the explanation.
>>
>>47342099
“Diamonds are too hard to tumble and better beset in rings or spectacular armors and wares. That said good sir, you are offering less than a tenth of the true worth of these hides. We would not let them go for anything less than a sum of twenty five emeralds.”

The clerk sweats a bit as he looks down upon Victoria, “Now there little Stella... I'm talking to these fine ladies over adult matters. Why don't you go read a book or philosophize about how the wind must feel.” He shoos her away, making a swishing sound as though to sweep her out of his store.

Victoria rolls her eyes, “Such valuable hides can be sold elsewhere. Come, take them and we'll find a more reputable tanner.”

>[“Guess we shouldn't have listened to Emrelda.”]

Cashmere, now regional Director, demonstrates uncharacteristic emotion at Chiffon's reported demise, Rene and Cicero only able to watch, feeling bittersweet. The Empire has retained its allies, but they have reason to suspect that foul play is involved, not to mention the cost of another friend's life. Sure, Saye was never found by her possibly-treacherous companion in the aftermath of the horrifically botched peace meeting, but all too often "never found the body" translates to "died alone."

A short time ago, however, Dyrus and the rest of the resistance were also none the wiser to these yet-to-fail plans of Chiffon's, expecting only a meeting with Chief Tien of the Tarvosians as they finally cross into the Wolfskin valley, followed by further warfare and the eventual moving on towards the challenges of the capital region. Soon enough, however, Hauteclere's group will encounter their presumed enemy as well as their predetermined friends...

Samson, in all his disconnect, isn't even about to fight the Empire, but a common enemy of his and theirs: the Dory trade company, pirates in all but name, openly-admitted smugglers, unscrupulous and conniving criminals who hope to control the coastline and beyond after the Empire inevitably dies. Thus, Samson hopes to subvert their goals by claiming their home island, Nevasa, in the name of the Holmstead resistance.

How long've I been calling it Nevasa? It's supposed to be Nedata Island, not the Daein Capital.

I am very not on the ball lately.
