So there is this manchild on my local gaming store that is annoying as fuck and it's always insisting on me to play him. So according to all the store people the only way to stop this is for me to crush him on a game.
He plays fucking eldar and I play Blud Ravens.
Could anyone suggest me a good way to quickly crush him? He loves to use dire avengers and warp spiders.

Mhhhhhm. Pasta.
Here I present my list, I am thinking on using a skyhammer anhilation force. Worthy of stheel reen! And I will even convert a Captain Hair Gel "Aramus" to lead it!
The idea is to use the landspeeders to give more avoid conentrated targets, and dig out camped bastards. I could give multimeltas instead to go and hunt tanks in case this fucker goes that way.
When your Ministorum Priest starts belting out a War Hymn, what's he singing?
I'll start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckNWtmkA2_g
I especially like this piece because it's possible to do with just stomping and one instrument, so you can easily picture a priest leading a regiment in song as they march.
Not a Ministorum Priest, but War Hymns are a big part of the Skitarii's shtick too.

Any advice how to hold a WWII/ cold war campaign?
I tried to bring a friend into trpg, but he said rather than medieval setting, he is more into WWII or cold war period, which I have no idea how to run.
Are there any ruleset for this? And is it really a good idea? I can't think of any plot for a single man in such a grand battle.
Dont even care came here for keith thompson art.
Also is there a cold war gone hot book in the military campaign thread OP? Check there.

I know that everyone always says, "Use gurps!" But I actually used Gurps for my "alternate history WWI & II campaign, and it worked really well.

"Oi! You that adventurer that was tasked by the boss to do that quest? I was told by the boss to accompany you to help complete the quest and to make sure ya get it done without lootin' everything you were told to get. So ya ready to head out?"
>>47346011
Oh hey, would you look at that.
A talking bag of loot.
Okay, it's off to the dangerous dungeon all alone with me and my five friends. I hope you've got high perception, because you're going through doors first, trap bait.
Alright friend I could use a companion to help complete the task. So sure, come along and we can share the riches.
I need some inspiration.
So I'm DMing a 5e game and the party ran across some monsters guarding some treasure who had clearly been there for a really long time. It has nothing to do with like the main adventure, it's just some random thing that happened along the way.
But instead of like, loot, or whatever, they just find a 1'x1'x1' black cube that weighs about 6 pounds. Doesn't seem to be any recognizable stone or other material, and it doesn't seem to have much powerful magic juju, but it seems impervious, and it's ominous just the same.
Only thing is, I don't know what to do with it. I just like the idea of finding some weird nightmare cube in some random place for no discernible reason. What should it be? What should it do?
What would you put in your nightmare cube, /tg/?
>>47344115
They did this in an episode of Doctor Who. A bunch of mysterious indestructible cubes appeared all over it. They did absolutely nothing, for the first year. They were actually filled with sensor devices, and we're studying Humanity. After the first year a bunch of them opened and produced different stimuli to map out the changes in Behavior among humans exposed to said stimuli. Once the alien race that created the cubes had properly mapped human physiology, the used the cubes as repeating antennas to transmit an electrical pulse across the entire planet specifically tuned to cause heart attacks in any human close to a cube. It was an attempt to painlessly euthanize the entire species

>>47344115
The cube serves as a holy relic to a bunch of insane, murderous nomads who'll stop at nothing to get it back.
I need some help working through this, /tg/. My gaming group dumped me on the streets a couple months ago, and Im still really fucking hurt.
> Girl1 is tight with the GM
> Girl1 and Boy1 are dating OOCly
> Entire group long time friends.
> GM keeps centering plots around Girl1
> Group gets upset by this and keeps telling Girl2/OP about the favoritism and wont talk to GM
> OP sits down with GM saying 'They really should come to you about this, but Im starting to have the same issue. Can we share the storyline spotlights? The past three arcs have been about Girl1. Can we all have a talk about this?'
> GM is receptive, things get better
> Girl3 enters game upon GM begging. Things are fun, but game is 9ish people now.
> Girl2/OP and Guy1 ICly hook up.
> Girl2/Op 'breaks up' with NPC boyfriend
> GM messages everyone that the game is over the next day becasue GM doesn't want to do it anymore.
>GM then goes and re-invites everyone to new game but OP and Guy1.
> Op and Guy1 are very upset
> Guy1 and Girl1 make up
> Guy1 gets invited to new game and joins
> Everyone but Girl1/OP is invited
Weeks later
> Girl1/OP is hanging out with Guy1 and Guy2 and start talking how fun the game is.
> Get mad when OP gives them a moment to stop, but then leaves when they keep going.
The GM has cut people from his games before without talking to them. The entire group condemned the practice, but still played after it was done to me. I thought I was over it, but here I am hurting again. Anyone been in a similar situation with long term friends? How did you move on?

If Intelligence in D&D/Pathfinder is "book smarts" while Wisdom is "street smarts," then how come the Investigation skill in 5e (discovering and understanding clues in the environment) uses Intelligence, and 3.5 and Pathfinder's factotum and investigator classes use Intelligence for all their street-smarts-themed inspiration abilities?
Even beloved Dreamscarred Press's warder initiator class for Pathfinder uses Intelligence for Reflex and initiative, which seems more like "street smarts" to me.
>>47343432
Because wisdom is for clerics and it worked better for skill focused classes.

How do you play a character that's smarter than yourself?
have a person smarter than you write a script and follow it even if it doesn't make any sense. after all, they are smarter than you and clearly know more than you do.
Use the wonders that a turn based game provides. You have time to sit and think on stuff between turns and between sessions.
So your ability to think on the fly is much better than most people's would be.
>>47342514
>You have time to sit and think on stuff between turns and between sessions.
Wait, do you mean some people DONT do this?
hey there, I've always loved necromancers and necromancy, and i was curious about some of tg's favorite necromancers, either from a game they were in, a game they ran, or from popular stories.
tell us about them. good, bad, dumb, genius, or heartfelt, doesn't matter, just share your favorite.

Is it bad if a fantasy religion strongly resembles a real religion?
>>47341974
It depends. If it is done well and doesn't generally try to force the tenets of the ACTUAL religion in your face then it should be fine. If it goes thinly veiled excuse for Sunday School, then you have a problem.
>>47341974
Literally every fantasy setting has a form of christianity.
>>47341974
Nope. Crib away.
Don't shy away from adapting reality to your game.
