Anyone know any systems and/or house ruled mechanics that would work well for a Megaman Legends type setting?
>>47508634
FATAL. It's the only RPG I can think of that controls as poorly.
>Dat img
C for Sex Pants
Maid RPG
>Hey anon, you like card games, want my old YGO cards?
>Sure
>Assume I'm getting a few decks
>mfw get given enormous box
This is a photo of just the loose ones after I'd sorted them. Trap and monster cards add up to 2490, not counting magic, rares, limited editions and cards in folders.
This is fucking insane. What am I supposed to do with all these cards? How can I tell which ones are worth anything and which are trash?
>>47507991
From that picture, I see mostly trash
Around 8 years old card for the most recent

all of 5 seconds googling. Im not doing your homework for you
>>47508040
I'd say thanks anon, but I'm not after anyone to tell me individual prices (I can do my own homework). But there is literally thousands of cards here, I have no idea where to start or what to do with this many.
>>47508032
Pretty sure all those pictured are trash, I think the guy just bought boosters. Just in that picture alone works out at 300+ boosters. Shit's insane.
Look what i made.
Never make anything again.

Agreed

There is hope for humanity
Hey /tg/
How would you create an interesting undead civilization? And by that I mean that they should have unique needs (or maybe not so unique) to the point that they could be considered just another faction/civilization in a setting.
Usually they don't need sustenance or nourishment, they also do not need to sleep, do not need (or do not care) to work in any way except fulfilling the wishes of their masters.
How would you make some undead civ with free will?
>>47507698
>How would you make some undead civ with free will?
Crossed
>>47508364
The Crossed are alive (and terribly-written), they don't count as undead.
>>47507698
Well, let's be clear on a few things. First of all, entirely undead or a mix of undead and living? A society entirely composed of intelligent undead is probably going to have different dynamics to one where you have living necromancers in the mix.
>>47507698
Necropolitan were pretty cool.
>tfw you will never achieve true love with a Sister of Battle like guardsman Klingus
WHY EVEN LIVE
>>47506929
Sad bump
that feel
>>47507618
maybe I've been seeing too much /d/ but I'm getting the impression her balls are far too tiny
>a powerful bard who has the power to put anyone who listens to her song to sleep
>laments the fact that no one is able to actually listen to her song in full, and becomes furious at the listeners for not appreciating her music
>>47506463
In fact, she carries around some paints so that she can take her anger out on those that fall asleep.
>>47506463
My next XBBEG.
Thank you anon.
>>47506463
Play for elves, problem solved.
I find even role playing female npc's in my setting to be a bit weeaboo in itself. It's hard to not play them off as being super sexy in my head. Any advice to change that frame of mind?
>>47505100
Well, one option is to be super sexy.
The other is to make it like, say Fist of the North Star or those really old manga before the era of political-correctedness. There are women, they're just never important or in positions of power.
>>47505129
Even the role of a bar maid the party just decides to speak to though. She doesn't have much to say, but I've had women be informants or arena combatants
>weeaboo
That word lost all meaning, it seems.
What are deck building games like? I've never played one before and have only heard of them fairly recently. What are some good ones to acquire and play?
>>47504696
Did you enjoy the tedious task of constructing, tweaking, and fine-tuning your Magic deck? Now imagine if someone made an genre out of that one aspect and you have deck building games in a nutshell.
>>47504780
That doesn't sound too fun.
Dominion is solid and easy to learn, but don't expect any kind of theme.
Ascension has a bit more randomness, but generally that just leads to more varied decks between players, plus it's a bit more thematic.
Thunderstone is, sadly, out of print.
Star Realms is tiny but brilliant, sadly only 2 players out of the box.
Legendary I don't have much experience with. I know setup/takedown time is a bit long, but it has some awesome flavour in all its incarnations.
I like deckbuilding games quite a bit. Starting off with some basic cards and then slowly turning those into better ones, building a point-getting engine.
It's way less like building a magic deck than you might think.
Does the average Imperial citizen take all his or her tubes and hoses out before going to bed?
>>47504275
Most planets in the imperium can't afford all the tubes and whatnot and live rather boring lives
The average imperial citizen doesn't worry about tubes
>>47504319
Oh the simple luxuries of a tube free lifestyle!
>>47504319
>Open the 6th ED brb, it has a picture of countless naked citizens being marched somewhere under guard. They are riddled with tubes and metallic pieces.
Uh huh
My good friend and I want to run campaigns, we love GMing, but we get burnt out or the campaign naturally falls off a cliff after a few weeks/months. We find ourselves talking about RPGs a lot and have decided now is the time to try something crazy for both our sakes – a co-GM game.
Our basic premise is the players and us develop a world and fill it with inhabitants, be they races, tribes, or overused hive-mind mushrooms. Then, the players effectively control or guide a race/tribe/group etc, be it via the aspect of them playing as a God within the setting, or as an immortal hero, or a general guiding rod for the civilization, whatever fits with the constructed setting or race. We will both discuss matters, produce and coordinate events between the players, and make sure everyone is having fun.
Our big problem now is finding a system that accomplishes this, giving us an actual system to work with whilst not tying us down too heavily to RAW bullshit. We will be running it online, if that changes anything. We have experience in the FFG 40k systems, and a little bit of Fate.
Any ideas?
I do wish the Quest threads would migrate over to their designated board.
Bump.
Last bump.

Right now, this sounds like a VERY long-term game of Microscope, smushed together with Kingdom., though it's probably not what you're looking for.
Microscope is a sort-of-but-not-quite collabrative world/history building game. Collaborative in that you work together, but not in that you do not create by committee. At the start of the game, people have the option to veto out elements, or make suggestions or ask questions during play; but while it's your turn to add something to the world, you have creative control (within the rules).
Kingdom is from the same designer, but I don't know it as well. AFAIK, the game is about a community going through Troubles, with the players taking roles of specific individuals within that community.
What do you think about the new scenic bases /tg/?
>>47503962
If the 25mm ones came in a box of 60, I'd buy one or two. 33p per scenic base is not much.
>>47503962
I just leave my bases blank.
>>47503990
>You’ll receive 20 25mm Round bases and 20 40mm Round bases, with 32 extra skulls for decoration
Could peoples' misery be used as a fuel for something in generic dnd settings?
Yes, capitalism.
Certainly. There are rules for it: Liquid Pain, in the Book of Vile Darkness. Useful stuff.
>>47503241
I've always liked the idea of joy and unhappiness being to separate sorces of magic, but not actually tied to the general concept of good and evil. Joy is more potent, but with a shorter fuse. Unhappiness is stable, but not as powerful as joy. One man could abuse joy by selling drugs. Another man could walk among the poor and do what he can to help, relying on their state to give him strength so that he can go from shithole to shithole helping while slowly growing in power.
Why
>>47502613
Despite being bad games, D&D and Pathfinder are popular.
because newbies who pick up the boxset without looking at other stuff and people with shit taste
>>47502671
>>47502678
>I'm a faggot
Despite your endless bitching, D&D are still good games and no one cares about your gay opinions.
Are there any RPG without internal progression? No level/rank up, no gaining XP, no base stats increase, etc.
Gaining advantage through equipments or item use is fine, because it's external, i.e. not an obligation for every PC.
>>47502485
Dunno mate, just start at maximum level ? Start at medium level and kick the exp rules out of the Window ?
>>47502485
There are tons of rpgs like that. What genre are you looking for?
>>47502628
Unfortunately I don't want to homebrew an already existing game into a level-less one. I'm looking for examples. Thanks for your thoughts, anon.
>>47502685
Any genre, anon. Thank you. Actually I'm trying to use them as a reference in designing an RPG.
any fun podcasts you guys listen to while converting and painting mini's ?
Welcome to Nightvale is breddy gud. I like the weather reports the most.
>>47502232
man i wish, it whould be nice to listen to something that you just gave nuff fucks about to listen to it.
>>47502396
Came here to say this. I plowed through 5 episodes in one sitting once, while assembly lining minis.
