>modern urban fantasy in RPGs will always be grimdark (World/Chronicles of Darkness) or punky (Shadowrun), and even the ones picking up the Dresden Files RPG still have to deal with a heavy dose of grit and noir
>superhero RPGs are, obviously, too entrenched in superhero clichés to do modern urban fantasy well, and usually assume a setting where everyone knows about these superheroes running around
I just want to play/run some modern urban fantasy themed more like a heroic action movie, or one of those Japanese anime series with magic in the modern day. Why is this so hard to find? What should I be looking for?

>heroic action movie
What do you mean, Die Hard? Have you tried gurps?
>>47537365
GURPS is good for tacticool operators operating tacticoolly in a "realistic" setting, not so much anything outright cinematic or heroic with a good dose of magic, as much as the books try to say you can do exactly that.

Feng shui?
Is it possible for an outside influence to affect a ship in warp travel? Veering its path or outright pulling it out mid jump.
Has this ever been done in 40k?
in one Comissar Cain book Orks had weirdboyz in warp waiting for imperial ships and pulled them out of warp.
>>47537012
>Is it possible for an outside influence to affect a ship in warp travel? Veering its path or outright pulling it out mid jump.
Yes.
Tzeentch told Magnus that he can destroy the Space Wolves ships or scatter them, if Magnus asked him to do it. Magnus refused Tzeentch's offer, unwisely.
Also it's speculated by the Eldar that Slaanesh protected and guided the Kraken splinter fleet while within the warp and then threw it out above Valdor.
>>47537012
I can imagine a way or two.
First, which is a bit of cheating: Vortex bombs. Muddles up realspace and warp locally.
Second: pull an Alderaan event and blow up a planet, with enough time to instill extreme emotions in every inhabitant and create a localized storm in the warp.
Both variants are pretty much shooting the blue, though.
>>47537061
Asking a warp god to do it for you is not quite in line with the spirit of the question, I fear, since it's a warp-born entity and not something from realspace.

Hello again everyone, i was hoping you guys could help give me tips on how to play a necromancer without being called edgy.
its a running joke that one our players is pure edge, he is so annoying with it and sees nothing wrong with it, he actually created a character without parents un-ironically. so we constantly mock him for his edgy characters.
I don't want to risk any kind of edge in my character, seeing as how everyone here refers to them as Edgy-mancers, so what can i do to prevent this?
for starters doom, gloom, and brood are off the table. I'm going to play either a charismatic type i think because its what I'm good at, the party "Face" if you will. But i also want to command an army of the living dead at my command.
thanks in advance

Between Paizo's "playtests" for Pathfinder, Wizards of the Coast's "playtests" for 5e, and White Wolf/Onyx Path's "playtests" for their game lines, do any major game developers use their playtests for actually getting feedback on what to fix about a game, rather than ignore all criticism and use the "playtests" just to build up hype?
>>47534060
D&D Next demonstrably changed from playtest feedback from version to version until it became 5e proper. Even now with Unearthed Arcana it changes regularly, such as prestige classes being dropped after one attempt, the first ranger attempt being scrapped, and the psionics playtest being updated to be more versatile. 5e is probably the most built-by-public-opinion tabletop RPG in existence.
Your problem is that you expect the majority of playtesters to agree with your point of view. They don't, so you decide to believe that the developers don't use any feedback. There's a name for that type of cognitive bias, probably.
>>47534091
Either cognitive dissonance or confirmation bias is the term you are looking for.
In any case, you're correct. Devs do playtest their games and use the feedback to change facetsof the games. The inherent problem with this process though is the play tester's own biases.
>>47534091
D&D 5e also killed martial dice and cool sorcerer abilities even when lots of people were clamoring for them.

My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. I already thought my life was odd, what with my parents having moved halfway across the country for their new job and leaving me in the care of my older sister... but then my best friend went and had a book shipped to my house that ended up giving me superpowers.
Thanks to said superpowers, I've been dragged into all sorts of horrible situations, the latest of which involves a masked thief who wanted revenge against me for killing a friend of his.
But hey, at least this one didn't end in me having to kill someone! He killed himself instead!

>"What are you talking about," I say, pointing at her with my fork. "You're coming along too."
>"Eh?" Charlotte furrows her brow. "I don't want you to think that I'll die of loneliness if I'm away from you for a single day, Cecile."
>"I know that," I reply, "but I still want you around anyways. You're my sexy girlfriend and they're my awesome parents and I want everyone to get to know each other."
>It seems that that comment was enough to surpass my morning allotment for teasing, as Charlotte once again ignores me in favor of eating her food as fast as she can. And after she finishes, she hurries off to the bathroom to get bathed and all that. I guess I should do the same.
But before I do that, I should probably call home and tell them that I'm bringing Charlotte over. Even though I'm sure that nobody would really mind, it just seems like the polite thing to do.
And so, after a quick search, I locate my phone underneath some of the clothes that were strewn about in the bedroom and pull up my contact list.

Perfect timing on the thread there.
would It be a good idea to add a +20% XP incentive to players for role playing their characters for the whole session?
No.
Roleplay or other positive behavior can be encouraged with mechanical rewards, but maybe not XP, and certainly not a whole 20%.
>>47533074
20% no
but every time someone tries to rp their character you should keep track and give them bonuses, even if they roleplay badly or it leads to something bad happening

So one way or another, I've decided I'm going to make a blue deck. Now my predicament is that I don't really have any single costing blue creatures, most are 3+ though I have a FEW 2's. So I figure I need to aim to play slow, but my question is, can I? I mainly play a white deck that puts out tokens like a white trash girls put out kids when they're with a black guy, and my other deck is a red green, so I'm use to getting guys out at a pretty fast rate, perhaps I'm just insecure about waiting to get fuckers out there.
