Damn, /tg/, I nee to GM a one shot in half an hour and I got nothing.

The setting is standard lowish fantasy (DSA, if anybody knows that)

Any ideas?

You either got no notice or you're terrible at planning. Which is it?

How unethical would it be to drug your players without them knowing?

My group is dull as hell and is forcing me to handhold them through the campaign as they can't be creative for the life of them. I'm considering putting a THC extract in their drinks to set the mood.

Hi /tg/, which game system has good rules for sexual acts?

No, it's not the anal circumference one, that one's retarded.

Why would you want 'rules' for that?

Half the fun of performing imaginary sex acts is making up new ones on the fly; if bedroom antics be your game then I should imagine rules lite is the way to go; have you tried Dungeon World?

Because I have crippling autism and can only get off if sex involves at least five dice and three quadratic equations.

they are symbols of creation. The rune of fire is not just a rune that represents fire, it is THE rune that represents fire. You hammer them into things and those things are imbued with the power. There's no 'casting' bullshit because thats not how it works. The more time and effort put into carving and hammering the runes means more power and quality. The goal of every runesmith is to recreate the runes EXACTLY as they are supposed to be, but it is extremely difficult as imperfections always exist, and only the creators could do absolutely perfect runes. They can only hope to get close.
>>
>>48706170

I play Ragnarok. They replace dice as a game play mechanic. As far as what they can do, they are the basis for the magical powers of the Galdr, and can be used for scrying omens and portents of the future.

What's the easiest system to create/run a campaign in that is NOT:

>a beer-and-pretzels level rules light system
>a game where the players and GM sit down together the first session and come up with the setting

I'm especially interested in anything that can be used to run early-20th-century pulp (especially ultraviolent pulp heroes like The Shadow and The Spider), or weird fantasy (think Conan, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, etc.).

How do you like your science fiction?

Hard or soft?
Expansive or small scale?
In our solar system or outside and far from it?
Lots of races or just humans?
Far into the future or just as space colonization begins?
Do you like AI being common?
33 posts and 8 images submitted.

Soft bordering on science fantasy.
Expansive
Large Scale and galactic or more
Lots of races
Far into the future
AI everywhere.

Just goes balls out

Problem is its extremely difficult to make settings with just too much novel stuff going on.

>>
>>48705243
>Hard or soft
I tend to lean towards harder sci fi with more of an emphasis on being plausable. Soft sci fi and science fantasy grinds my gears.
>Expansive or small scale?
Expansive. Having a large galaxy to explore is very fun.
>In our solar system or outside and far from it?
In the same galaxy but our system has been forgotten.
>Lots of races or just humans?
Just humans. Too many races makes it too confusing and in the end they just exist to be there and not for any real reason.
>Far into the future or just as space colonization begins?
In the in between era. People are still starting to explore the stars so there still some unexplored areas but tech is sufficiently advanced for space travel.
>Do you like AI being common?
Yes, but in a limited capacity. No AI races and AIs exist as either just helper bots or assistant computer systems.

What's a good generic catch-all term for really generic spooky -man monsters?

I mean Boogeyman is the general one, but what about including a million other ones as different variations or sub-species of the general type? Something that could belong to any dungeon or even be summoned up or put into an army of monsters by someone demented or determined enough to gain power over them.

Boggarts?

How do you handle magic in your world, /tg/?

Are objects and evocations created out of sheer force of will? Do people unknowingly call on spirits to carry out their desires? Does blood carry some type of magical energy that can be focused into a more useful form?

My current campaign uses the boring old idea of having the physical plane and the magical aether separated by a thin veil. All creatures have a conduit in their spiritual center that allows them to siphon energy from the aether, but it's typically not enough to give form to anything. The conduit can be trained like a muscle, however, allowing skilled casters to open holes large enough to manipulate to their will.

Some beings innately have more powerful conduits than others, leading to the creation of sorcerers or magical beasts. Conduits typically shut after a being dies, but complications can lead to it remaining stuck open, leaching magical energy into the environment and corrupting nearby spells and organisms.

I'm shit at naming stuff, so I'm still struggling to come up with proper terminology for it. A major plot point that the players will eventually come across is a massive fallen beast whose conduit is large enough to have corrupted an entire forest and causing major magical anomalies in the surrounding countryside.

Might scrap it altogether and just go with the generic arcane/divine/elemental "poof it works" bullshit, though.
>>
I liked the different sources of magic in D&D 4e so I just took that and built on it

Primal is the first thing people learned to do, and is an animistic thing that involves manipulating the spirits that share existence with mortals. They range from demons to fey to simple ghosts It's risky business, as spirits have their own will and will seek to overpower yours, but success means you can achieve a bunch of effects depending on the nature/fixation of the spirit. The spirits of living people themselves can be also manipulated, but the perception of most is that those are not of the same nature and thus it is not often attempted let alone regularly practiced. When it is, you end up with things like psionics.

Divine showed up when the gods stepped into the world and mortals took to their worship. The gods' time in the world slowly made them mortal, but they realized through worship they could retain immortality. What they're actually doing is sustaining themselves on the spirit of the faithful like psychic vampires. The link works both ways though, and especially strong-spirited mortals can channel a fraction of the god's spirit the opposite way to do crazy shit.

Arcane has to do with how the physical world is structured. Elementals built it from the substance of their own being, and when the gods arrived they bound the elementals in a network of their own power, forced to continue sustaining the universe just by existing but unable to affect it as they once had. This network is accessible to those who know how precisely it works, and pretty much allows a user to shape physical reality as they see fit, but the more complex the shaping the more intimate understanding one needs of how the thing is supposed to work and how you want to make it work.
