Orcs come from a far off continent via long-ships. They raid once every decade. Half-orcs are majority the result of rape and are seen as less than human. Countries could band together to fight off the clockwork threat but no leader has ever been able to bring them together.

The Orc's home continent is harsh, cold, and inhospitable. They raid the continent to capture slaves to do hard labor farming, mining, and lumbering instead of themselves.

Orc society is very martial, meritocratic, and brutal, with few of the social niceties of the more civilized races. Due to the harsh conditions and a desire to ensure their children are strong enough to survive and prosper, Orc females aren't willing to mate with any but the strongest Orc males, and they don't mind sharing with other Orc females.

Usually only the strongest, most cunning, and influential Orc males are allowed to mate with Orc females, and they'll gather a harem of potentially as many as a dozen mates, becoming father of an entire tribe. It is taboo to mate with another Orc of the same tribe.

The Orc male to female ratio is 1:1, meaning that competition to gather mates is extremely heavy, and the bottom 90% of Orc males aren't able to mate with other Orc females, necessitating raids on the main continent, to capture slaves to satisfy themselves, and treasure to impress Orc females.

From some of the lore books on Kamigawa specifically yeah that's how it works, granted Mana rich is fairly common in MtG canon, mostly in way of places of incredible natural abundance in Kamigawa. So, yes in Kamigawa's canon.

That's the point, no one expects a wandering samurai to be a Ninja! Other than the Joke it's basically a call back to how the Ninjutsu rule is replacing an attacking using very suddenly. Thought it was cleaver... guess not though.

Yeah, just what the story needs, ANOTHER damn side-quest to embark on to ignore the main story plot even more.

They were under a deadline before this whole evil Durkon story started, and they're under two of them now. If some sort of contrivance doesn't grant it back to him on the spot, then there's absolutely no logical reason they'd waste time trying to look for it instead of Roy learning the power was inside him all along or some dumb crap like that.

So of course they're going to go after it. Story resolutions fucking never.

something i always thought would be cool to do as an alchemist that not many games allow, is to allow your potions to effect people you throw them at/on. Normally they have to drink it, or you just are straight up limited to helpful effects, where I always thought throwing a vial of powerful debuffs at enemies, like shrink potions or even polymorphs would be entertaining as hell.

i really like weaverdice/worm's use of how your character backstory dictates exactly what kind of abilities you will get based on the kind of trauma leading up to it, the tragic irony of how the power does not instantly fix your situation and that fact that its up to other players to come up with what your power actually is.

the game is still an unfinished pile of shit though, so don't ask if i played it.

An idea I had to get around the difficulty of drinking potions with face protection on is to make the potion contents act like a living liquid that once removed from the vial will go for the mouth.

So to heal you just smash a vial of restore health onto your facemask and the contents slither through without wasting a drop, you could adapt this for poisons to chuck at enemies.

Classless as in without character classes, I'm not talking about social mores or marxist utopias

Hard mode: preferably something that leans more narrativist if possible. Broader is generally better than more specific - if I had to choose, I'd prefer the 'Thief' was using 'Thievery' instead of having invested 100 of her skill schmeckles purely into Forgery: Coins and being handicapped in any campaign without a hardcore counterfeiting b-plot.

I tried to run a Centauri Knights game in high school, so like ten plus years ago, but I don't think the players really got the setting.

Anyways, I have fond memories of BESM. Still have the third edition somewhere, but I'm not sure what I'd crack it out for. I've sort of not a believer in generic systems, I find, and I'm much less of a weeaboo at this point in my life.
