Just got back and I want to be anywhere else in the world. I hate it here. I like the uni probably better than I would like any other uni but I just really hate educational institutions now.

Semi-/x/ tier but I also believe that there really is a "program" or something going on that indocrinates students into being "normal" (as defined by the USA) citizens. You just have to go outside the US to know how different everyone is. Everyone here just seems... dead inside. Empty. As much as they pretend they're not (most are really good at faking a personality) when you get to know them you realize it's really all fake.

And I've been to highschools both inside and outside the US, and colleges inside and outside US. I'm not American (gladly).

I agree anon, I notice in other countries the people seem more alive functional and socially healthy. I think the United States suffers for a couple of reasons:
>many broken families
>too many cultures that don't mix well
>emphasis on individualism
>poor diet (hormones/high fructose corn syrup in everything/sugar/salt)
>too many kids who were raised by television and computer screens (me, for example)
>many who were put on amphetamines from a young age
>lack of any strong cultural identity
>infrastructure is built in a way that encourages anti-social/asocial behavior

To elaborate on that last point, I notice in other countries things are closer together, and people generally walk or use public transit to get places. This may seem minor, but the impact is significant. When you walk around, you feel like you're in a living, breathing community.

In stark contrast, Americans drive everywhere because of the massive distances and poor (or nonexistent) public transit in many places. As a result, everyone sort of lives in their own isolated bubble. I grew up in apartments my entire life and they felt more like 'living units' than 'homes'.

The nature of cities is that everyone is constantly moving away, and there never feels like you're truly involved with society. It's very alienating, I could go back to one of my old apartment complexes or high schools just 2 years later and not see a single person I know. Even the shopping centers feel sterile and inhuman. Everything is plastic and inauthentic, intrusive adverts everywhere and the same buildings copied make the cities feel more like people factories than a massive community. Instead of a restaurant, you have "McDonald's #271726". See one and you've seen them all.

I lived in Korea for 3yrs. The difference is astounding. It's got problems too, they still seem more human. As they westernize more, I notice more family and local owned stores replaced by mega corporations, and that's unfortunate.

I'm a bit short (6') but I honestly don't think it's a big factor. Sure, being a few inches taller would help with females, but even a guy in the 5'4 range would be able to get laid. Character and confidence matter a lot, same for getting jobs etc.

It's probably more a matter of shorter guys not being confident enough so they can't fully make use of their personality to get the things they want

I create fake accounts on social media, dating sites by posting fake pictures, information, such and troll people. I do this when I am bored. I use those accounts seriously and, have made lots of friends on twitter, facebook. Infact, in real life I have no friends at all.
