Was coming to post something similar. Parents were fuckin loons. Was not really allowed to socialize except with the few people that I already knew. Wasn't allowed to meet anyone whose mother my mother didn't know so it was a catch 22 on ever meeting new people. This was likely the root of the debilitating social phobia I have today.
