It was a dark day, and a rain filled day. the sea almost seemed to be boiling violently as it was tossed around and curled up into the air, large enough to swallow most lesser ships with one simple motion. Even the Great walls of Centil could do little to hold back the seas apparent anger, though it looked more sick than enraged. The streets were flooded from the water that had managed to drip or flow over the walls, and continued to flow forwards, creating smalls streams and even rivers in some of the worse of parts of the city that didn't have drains in case of events like this.

From atop the castle's walls, it almost looked as if city and sea had merged and become one. The King of centil, Damian Crawlby stared over the railing, across the sea. He looked troubled, almost panicky, as he tugged on the golden ring slung around his neck for comfort.

"This is a foul omen" He said quietly almost whispering, barely heard over the wailing of the winds "Fist the birds fell ill, then the Milk soured, and now the sea shows its anger"

"Mi'lord" The Knight of blues roses, Marcus, said from behind his king, taking his helmet off calmly as rain splattered against his armor "You're worrying too much, you know you send Amelia into a panic every time you stress yourself like this, its just the autumn weather, nothing more...Especially not the doom you've been prediciting, Mi'lord"

The king stared back, his eyes as blood shot as the day his wife had passed. He looked more like a beggar than royalty in his current state.

"Sir Marcus, I know you aren't one to study the occult" he says slowly, clapping his hands together as he walked over to the knight, who smirked a shit eating smile

"Oh I'm not one for study at all, just giant jackass, Mi'lord " He says crossing his arms "But even a dumbass can offer advice, namely that you eat your weight in stranger herbs and foul fungus during those seances of yours, maybe they're the cause, you know just...maybe? I know its a little crazy, but bear with me here Mi'lord"

"Oh Silence, its more than that, and those don't do anything, all they do is make my body more open to the other half of our world" the king said calmly, walking into his castle, as his most loyal knight opened the door for him "And all of the spirits in this town have told me a dark force is soon to arrive, a predator beyond imagining"

"Of course there is, we invited a family of them in too discuss trade" the knight sighed, as he slowly donned his helmet once more
"And perhaps an alliance, if we're lucky and they don't just decided we'll make better meals than allies"

"It isn't that, I've felt their...their emptiness on the astral plane for weeks, especially the brausr, Every time I looked towards her, I could see nothing...her soul is like a black hole" the king said calmly as he walked

down an darkened hallway, where his features distorted with worry, fear and panic.

"But I've seen something else approaching, it changes every day, sometimes it burns so brightly my eyes burn just thinking about, and other times it fades away like a dying flame" He said calmly "I don't know where its coming from, but I can feel it, something not meant to walk this world is coming to our fair city, and these omens no doubt signal its arrival, this storm only proves my point"

"Hmm, well who knows, maybe they had another kid" Marcus chuckled "and come on, what can possibly cause a storm like this? I know the Millers for all their power can't, and certainly this boogie man of yours wouldn't, come on, Your acting crazed again Mi'lord"

"Maybe your right, I might just...might just be stressed over this visit, so much could go wrong" the king said weakly, rubbing his throat "Is my daughter ready?"

"Her handmaiden was helping her into her dress last I saw" Marcus said happily as the storm shudder the windows next to him.

Malizeral
"YES!" I shout happily, as rain pours on my face and outstretched wings as the sky goes as dark as night " now everyone can actually enjoy this vacation without worrying about the sun ruining i! You did a good job with this storm, maybe I should reward you~"

I cackle as the angel shies away from me, before she's pushed forward to me by Alith, who smiles wickedly....enough to send a chill down my back, more than her usual cold does at least.

Lifa closes her one eye, as the ship rocks back and forth. Its all just so exiliratng, standing in the center of this storm. I smile happily, and grab my daughter by her face, gently.

And kiss her on her forehead.

"What?" She asks in confusion as I chuckle and ruffle her hair

"What? were you expecting some whipping or a beating? I'm never cruel to my daughters, especially when they're good girls" I say hugging her as her mind seems to break again

"But..you're a" She begins, twitching slightly as Alith hugs her as well

"Not all demons are bad, foolish sister" Alith chuckles, her eyes glowing blue as she leans closer to the shaking angel

Maya pulls on my horns, grumbling angrily

"When are we going to get off this boring piece of driftwood?" She asks angrily as I open my mouth to answer her when

At least five millers scream "MALI!"

And my skin some how goes even paler than before, as Alith moves to put herself infront of me

"Oh no" I say weakly as Lifa looks smug

Welcome back folks, sorry for the long wait!

Last time:

As you walk away from Yustina you can feel her stare on the back of your head, but you do not turn around. You come upon the Mobile suits neatly parked in a row, camouflage netting hiding them from eyes in the sky. You spot Bela talking with one of the engineers that had been working on her mobile suit earlier. As you approach, she explains that the engineers have worked a ‘Fine movement’ function into her suit as rudimentary assistance for long range shooting. You inform Bela that we will be going on patrol soon, as the camp is closing up shop early tomorrow morning while it’s still dark.

“According to the mission briefing, we are to rendezvous with 12th team and return to the FOB together.” You state.

Bela nods and turns as Dmitri approaches the mobile suits.

“Great to see you’re alive, Dmitri!” Bela laughs as she climbs into Unit 3.

Dmitri mocks her laugh as he greets you and begins to climb into his mobile suit.

You grab the fly-line and raise yourself up to the cockpit hatch. You jump down and seat yourself in the pilot’s chair, flicking switches and activating the start-up sequence. In near unison, the three Units rise up, the netting slipping away and the full stature being attained. You go through the quick test functions to see how the right manipulator is working, and it’s not as fluid and manageable as it was before, but it will indeed pull a trigger like the engineer said. You turn the head camera over to see Bela’s Unit slinging the hefty 180mm cannon on its shoulder for travel. You test the grip on your own 100mm machine gun and watch as Dmitri ejects an empty case and reload his own machine gun. You give the order to march towards the highway to scout out the route back to the FOB.

>Contact the 12th team
Welcome back, I eagerly awaited your return EFF
>>
You slide your headset on around your ears, tapping the microphone to hear the feedback. You deftly press a toggle switch in the cockpit that open the long range radio frequencies and begin dialing in the frequency for the 12th team. You spy Dmitri and Bela testing their own mobile suit’s functions through the main camera. A short spurt of crackling cuts through your headset as the channel sets up.

“12th team, this is 16th team Unit 1, please respond, over.” You clearly state your request and await their return. You know that if no one is in the mobile suits they still have a man on constant radio duty. It doesn’t take long to get a response.

“16th team this is 12th team Unit 1. Hearing you loud and clear.”

“12th team, what is your status on phase 3 of the mission?” You query.

“16th team, 12th team is packed and ready to rendezvous at the RZ. ETA 1 hour, what is your status?”

You peer down at the camp chief to see him give you a thumbs up and return the motion with your MS.

“Camp pack up nearly done, suits ready to start recon for safe retreat. ETA 3 hours, 16th team Unit 1, Out.”

“Roger that 16th team. Good luck out there.”

The spurt of static graces your ears once again as you switch back to the short range radio. You motion for your team to start moving out. As you traipse around the swiftly pack camp, you notice that Yustina is being escorted into the makeshift jail container that is now on the back of a transport truck. Before looking away you see her tilt her head up towards you to flash one last stare. You palm the control handles of your suit and pick up the pace to the front of the formation.

You are Paxious Dromus, a Zabrak from a farming world just off the Iridonia system. You're also soon to be a Jedi Initiate on Tython. You have passed your first two trials on your way to being accepted by the Jedi as one of their own and after this next one, you will be officially inducted into the order.

Last time, we met Nazz, a Mirialan girl from Nar Shaddaa and one of your fellow students. You and she both just passed the second trial with flying colors, proving yourselves to be quite adept in the Force. Your friend Lu, however, despite his huge Force potential, did not fair as well. He passed, but will not be in the advanced class with you and Nazz.

Now you are standing in the crowd of your fellow students.

What will you do?

[Gerudo City]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDjnpVXOSp8

You and Sheik walk cautiously with your guides, a few Gerudo guards you pass giving you looks ranging from the curious to the suspicious. Sheik herself seem to be the one catching the most suspicion. You do hear some women murmur amongst themselves about your appearance. You also notice, amongst what could be seen as a sea or perhaps desert of red hair, there are a small handful of Gerudo sporting black, blonde, and brown heads of hair.

“You may make your case here.” one of the women escorting you declares, motioning for you to enter a relatively large tent. “Enter. Behave yourselves. Or else.”

You and Sheik nod in agreement, then enter. Inside you see three Gerudo standing over a table, talking amongst themselves. You can catch a bit of their conversation... and it’s an odd one. One older Gerudo in armor, Iron Knuckle armor sans helmet, nearly stabs at a map with her finger. “The fortress keeps gaining more lights every night. Those bastards are mobilizing. We should crush them now before they become a threat!”

“And you suggest we simply march in with brute force?” the woman opposite her, a much older lady dressed in what seems to be some kind of robes, questions. “Gibdos are not easy foes to conquer. You need to think with your head, not your muscles you big oaf of a daughter!”

The third woman, dressed in armor, but not the armor of an Iron Knuckle, having a more... regal appearance to her, looks between the two, then notices you and Sheik enter with the guards. The two women immediately kneel before her, motioning for you and Sheik to follow suit. “Lady Geldama. These travelers are here with the claim that they wish to aid us.”

“Is that so?” the woman’s voice, calm but heavy and commanding, asks. “It is rare that Hylians seek to help us. Usually they come seeking our aid, throwing sacks of Rupees and fine weapons at us until we agree upon a price worthy of our services.” She approaches you and Sheik, and as she does you notice around her belt an odd sword, unusual in structure and completely unlike anything the Gerudo commonly use. She looks down at you curiously. “Speak your name, young one.”

“Termina, of Kakariko.” you tell her, still kneeling.

The Gerudo in Iron Knuckle armor gives you a surprised look. “...shorter than I expected. Termina, ally of Aveli Draggai?” You nod in response, causing her to smile. “Aha, so this is the brave little Hylian my girl’s been gushing over!”

...well, it seems this is the mother she mentioned before. “She is a strong and valiant fighter. I would not have been able to succeed in my quest to the Temple of Farore without her help.”

“And you gave her that belt she’s so fond of, aha!” she laughs aloud, walking to you. “So you come here to aid us? But how did you know about those Gibdo bastards, we haven’t sent message to anyone before.”

“That is true.” the Gerudo leader comments. “So why ARE you here, Termina?”

>A. I apologize, I know nothing of any Gibdos. Could we start this from the top?

You are Lieutenant Richter Von Tracht, tank commander for the Archduchy of Strossvald, the stone heart of Sosalia and bulwark against the Reich…not that the latter part means much these days, with forty years of peace since Strossvald’s break from its imperial motherland.

You had recently graduated from the Armor Officer’s academy and were on your way to your assignment with your handpicked (by Lady Luck) crew, when your small train was derailed by a group of daring bandits. Your train was relatively small, being a shuttle for you and your equipment as you were at the bottom of the priority list, and its armored cargo seemed a juicy prize for these enterprising brigands. You managed to gather your crew and enlist the aid of two unassuming train security guards, and were now holed up at the rear of the train, having picked the security’s armory clean.

Your foes had hidden themselves after you had wounded one of their number. In this situation, it was dangerous to try and move.

You have an idea to lure out your attackers. You had to lure out an action from them somehow, and this idea would work if they were eagled eyed yet hasty enough.

You stole one of the train security teams’ hats. Your own officer’s cap, while sufficiently gaudy to draw attention, simply could not be ruined on its first day of duty. You carefully raise it using the point of your officer’s blade…

It takes a moment, but the bait is taken. A loud crack pierces your ears as you are showered with glass, the hat flopping to the ground with a tear in its peak. The sting of several small cuts from the glass landing on your head fades in as you leap back down the ladder.

“Anyone see where-“ you start to say, before being interrupted by an incredibly peculiar feeling.

A horrid chill embraces you. It feels like every hair stands on end-all is silent for an instant, and the leer of a thousand eyed monster rises from all around you.

“Judge above, what in the hell was that?” Hans curses. “One hell of a draft?”

Impossible. All of the windows and doors were firmly shut.

“It’s not a god damned spirit!” Hans shouted suddenly.

“I didn’t say anything about god damned spirits!” Stein shouted back.

Confused shouting echoes about from the outside. You catch bits of it; mostly things such as “We need to go” and “Get moving!” Their accents were somewhat off, you could vaguely tell; you just didn’t know exactly how. More importantly was what could possibly have made them decide to retreat.

Perhaps the particular reason wasn't so important.

“They said they were leaving!” One of your hastily drafted comrades from the train gasped, “We can escape!”

"Don't worry Amalia, I'll save you!"

This is it. The old fort. I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to go here. Because it's dangerous? Or was it something else? Whichever it was, that definitely doesn't count when the creepy witch Lily kidnaps my best friend. People need to stop doing that! She may a scary, possibly-murderous, probably-insane, definitely-dangerous, little girl, but that does not give her the right to be a bully!

I may only be a few days into my apprenticeship, but that doesn't mean I'm not prepared for bullies. I still have some of the potions left from the Emergency Pack that Cinnamon gave me, and that's definitely been handy before. Cinnamon seems a bit easily distracted, but she seems to know her stuff. Once I learn some more myself I should probably follow her example and make my own emergency pack.

I also have the Thorn from the Wilting Willow that the daemon Vanda gave me. I actually still haven't tested it, but according to her it can be used to reverse transformations and return a target to it's true form. That's pretty useful too! If I run into something that transforms. Or maybe that Lily girl does something to Amalia like a mean bully.

Oh, and I made something of my own too before I left for the fort. I prepared a Hex of Sighting that should let me see through Amalia's eyes when I spark it. It's a bit of a funny one, I had to draw the magic circle with chocolate! Crazy! That also made it really difficult to fit it into my pack without ruining the whole thing, but I managed it.

It should be pretty useful for trying to find Amalia, but I can only use it once so I should try to pick the most useful time. If I don't see anything because she isn't awake, or what I see doesn't help me find her because I still have no idea where anything is, then I'll have completely wasted it. But if I wait so long I've already found her, it'll be pointless too. Tricky!

That's what I have. The real question is what is this Lily girl capable of and what does she have waiting for me? Hopefully nothing too bad.

As the forest begins to thin around me, my target destination is revealed. Before me, the sparsely vegetated Western lowlands stretch out to the distant horizon, interrupted only by the green and grey of the fort walls rising from the lonely plateau below, conveniently surrounded by steep slopes on all sides with just a single trail leading up the gates. This would probably have been a breathtaking sight if not for the thick layer of clouds that has settled over the sky, leaving the afternoon sun barely visible behind the walls of the fort.

At least it's not raining. Still, I can't have more than a couple of hours left until the sun sets, so I'd better hurry and get down there.

The matter of getting inside, fortunately, manages to solve itself. While the gate is shut tight with massive wooden doors, like you would expect from a military fort, the southern wall appears to have completely collapsed and even if it hadn't the walls have also become overgrown with long vines, which I supposed is not unexpected for an abandoned military fort.

In a way, isn't that kind of neat. Instead of an ugly symbol of war and violence, this place is slowly returning to nature, peaceful and.. actually a little creepy. But that's probably just because I know Lily is in there somewhere, bullying Amalia. But not for much longer!

Past the walls, the fort is.. not pretty at all. On the northern side, a row of dilapidated but somehow still standing long wooden houses rest in the shadow of the outer wall. Maybe that's where the soldiers had their bedrooms? And judging from the oddly rhythmical creaking coming from inside, they could collapse at any moment.

Past those, a large stone tower rises from the corner of the fort walls, maybe some kind of lookout tower? Or maybe it's for shooting people. Army men like to do that, don't they? Though, if the fort is abandoned, why is there still light coming from the windows up there? Could Lily be using it? The ladders leading up unto the wall are all broken, but if I want to get into that tower I could climb the vines back at the collapsed part of the wall.

Finally, by the north wall is a small stone building apparently used for nothing else than the entrance to a passage leading downward. It seems this fort has a basement too. And unlike the tower, there is no light coming from there. But should I assume that Lily wouldn't be there just because it's dark and creepy?

Probably not. So where to start, then? The suspiciously red writing on the wall to the left of the passage might be a hint.

"Follow the path of the Goddess."

But what does that mean?

>The light in that tower deserves to be inspected. Climb up there!
>Lily would obviously pick the creepiest place, she must be downstairs.
>Maybe she's inside one of those houses? I should check them out.

>1. General Witchcraft: Intro to Nadja's Notebook as well as any witch-related topics outside of the three major arts will go here when Nadja learns about them: http://pastebin.com/FvemAzKN

Characters: Nadja doesn't actually keep a written list of people she knows, but it seemed a list would be useful since a character could easily be absent from the quest for a month or more of real time, and it seemed more fun to write it in Nadja's voice even though she has no reason to ever write it. You look down and her, and shrug. You might as well give her a hand. It’s not like it’ll actually take much effort, and it’s always good to be able to call in a favor or two in case something unforeseen happens.

“Sure, I guess. Just be back not too long after midnight, okay? And be quiet getting in. I don’t want to end up in the dog house just because you tipped over a flower vase.” Olivia squeals, a high-pitched piercing noise, and throws her arms around you.

“Oh, thank you so much Lizzie! I’ll repay you, I promise!” Practically skipping now, she heads back to her room, no doubt letting all her friends know that their plans for tonight will come through after all. Oh to be young and obnoxious again.

You return to your own room and lock the door behind you, pulling the grimoire out again and re-reading the section regarding the Lesser Physical Form ritual. No more than three out of every ten bones missing, and a good amount of meat for the offering. That’s gonna be a bit of a pain for sure.

You stare up at the ceiling, trying to think of where you could find more remains. Searching the neighborhood would be a crapshoot, no chance to know if there’ll be roadkill or not. And you can’t exactly make a habit of digging up neighbor’s pets, as cool as it would be to have your very own Frankenweenie.

The aconite might be a problem as well. A bit of googling on your phone reveals it’s native to Turkey and South-Eastern Europe, and more than a little toxic. Not exactly biking distance from Olim, Maine. How are you supposed to find a poisonous plant endemic to Greece on such short notice? You might be able to check out that nursery place your Dad mentioned earlier...

Hello, and welcome to Modern Necromancy Quest Redux, where we bring back your favourite modern-fantasy quest for good this time! Probably!
You are Liz Shepherd, recent high school graduate enjoying your last summer home before heading off to college with your recently acquired necromantic Grimoire of Barnaby Sikes! So far, you have
>Summoned the shade of your neighbor's dead cat
>examined a mundane library explosion with magical motives
>been dragged to the Seelie Fae Court and had an appointment made with the much less nice Unseelie Fae Court
>had a nice lunch with your mother
>investigated the ritual required to raise a Lesser Physical Form
And much more! So jump right in!

Let's look for something like a garter snake and be prepare to secure the kill, otherwise, for the physical bones, we are really lacking. But there may be a Pet cemetary as creepy as that sounds.

This quest is heavily inspired from darkest dungeon,
In the thoughtless expansion of the empire, the Hurisa, a tribe of savages, always avoided a certain shore, a squad was sent there only to find corpses of seagulls , fishes and whales at the entrance of a cave that reeks of death

This squad will uncover the dark secrets of this cave....

....or wither away against the tides of evil inside.

Seven Men and Women obeyed the words of the empire and started to delve into this ill-omened cave:

Litius, the grand officer and the head of this expedition. A stern man with a mighty greatsword that slew many enemies of the empire.

Osla, the unseen, the eyes of empire...the silent shadow that follows and pries. The dagger that shines in the darkness. A woman of few words.

Motun, A combat engineer, a cheerful fellow with an optimistic view on the world. That ought to change soon....

Jonah, a young marksman with a keen eye. He is the latest addition to this squad.

Kyluk, a man of medicine and an old friend of the Grand officer. Curiosity brought this man here....will it be his death?

Yaldiham, the shield of the empire. A woman robbed of her tongue but not her heart of gold.

Ediyal, A pale Officer, one of the empire's few arcane users. She aims to impress the Grand Officer and everyone else with her powers.

"Death holds dominion here in here....be on your guard." said the Grand officer as the party entered the cave.

It was small, very small with a carcass of a bloated man in the center. Poor soul must have drowned and have been dragged here. Still, that does not justify the mysterious deaths of all the wild life around this cave.

"Something is amiss." the pale officer felt a disturbance. not a blink later, the ground below their feet gave away. Some slipped to the abyss below others were lucky.

Each (most of) character has HP, formation , skills and Perks some are positive, few and negative.

Status effects:

Move: A target switches location with another either forward (pull) or backwards (push)

Blight: A rampant disease violates the body chipping health each turn

Bleed: Open veins spurts blood each turn

Stun: Target is incapacitated for one turn

Debuff: mainly negative roll modifiers.

Mark: target receives double damage

Let me explain the following:

O Q Q Q Q Q O O

Vanish: 1-3 damage (d10), moves to 4 , +6 stun

The three Qs indicate where the unseen can be to perform this skill. d10 is the dice for the roll, moves to 4 means that the unseen will go back to the fourth row where he will be more efficient.

The other 2 Qs indicate the target of this skill
+6 means that if the roll is 7,8 or 9 it will apply a bonus which is a stun in this case.
.
Q O O O O Q-Q eviscerate

The linked Qs means that both two Qs will be affected by this skill
.
The marksman have to reload after each shot
..
Ignitium poweder: 0.5 damage x (3d110), 2 +9= Stun for 1 turn means that if two rolls are 9 or above the bonus will be achieved.

Turns:

At the start of the combat, one player and 1 will roll 4d10, if there is a duplicate number (i got a 9 so did the player ) priority goes to the player

example:

Ally's 4d10

2,6,3,9

enemy's 4d100

6,5,1,7

turn goes like 9,7, 6 (player), 6 (enemy),5,3,2

any question?

>Information

This quest takes place long before the events of The Last Airbender. Long before Aang, Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, or Yangchen. You play as a young Earthbender from a small village in one of the many Kingdoms scattered across the main continent. As a powerful villain strives to dominate the world, you will be forced to make choices that can stop it, aid it, or have no effect whatsoever.

>Rules

After each update I make, there will be a voting period of ten minutes. Once ten minutes have passed, whatever option has the most support will be the winner.

Write-ins are accepted, but only when specified If you see a write-in option, suggest whatever you like. If not, choose from the options I have provided.

Sometimes, rolls will be required. I will assign them, and they will operate under a d100 system. You will have three chances, and if one of the rolls succeeds, you pass. There are no crits, but I do take into account how much you succeed or fail by.

I reserve the right to veto certain write-ins, but will try to avoid doing so.

I hope you all have fun

The door closes. That's it; the Great Lady is finally empty. You sigh in satisfaction, your
hand quietly reaching for the rag under the desk that will clean every makeshift table.
Humming and moving, it's not long until you are carefully folding the rag. Still barely wet,
you give it back to the cans and sponges carefully arranged under the rust desk. You
take off the cat ears first, then the uniform. And then you stop; the dim sound of voices
draws your attention.

At the side alley where you dump the trash bags, you spot a man in tuxedo wearing an
old knight's helmet, from a gap in the wooden plank door at the side of the restaurant.
Leaning against the big green container, still reeking of big black bags and flies, Bashjik is
calmly gesturing at an elegant, black hooded figure as he talks, with a dancing voice.

"-and yet you should be ill concerned with such matters. It is not selfish not to sacrifice
oneself for the sake of others."

"Not for such little retribution, but I do get your point." The voice of the reply is eager; it
makes you think of old ladies arguing past boyfriends. "Yet we share the same place..."

"So, you are attempting a comeback. Fascinating."

"How about you?" The voice has now a scolding tone to it. "You do have a rather odd
taste for happy endings." It points at the restaurant, making you hide on reflex.

"Such things are not to be discussed."

"Such things are to be discussed."

"A work of art is nigh related to elegance nor status, thou wouldn't get the fine intrinsic
details." Bashjik faces away, roughly. "You'd be offended and I doomed."

"Maybe I already am." It quickly stops forward.

"Then why concern myself?"

You notice a long flick of hair has fallen from the hooded figure. A mix of pure colors shape
it, red, black, white, green, orange and yellow fall togueter without pattern.

Funny, we also wear the catears at the Great Lady? Always though that was a the Whatever only gimmick.
Also, WE WORK IN THE GREAT LADY?!

Also, polychrome hair, Heh.

Funny, I JUST got back from playing. And here we are again.
>>
The conversation goes on like a valtz. While some guilt steems from spying their chat,
curiosity wins you over. It's not like you will use their words to harm, after all.

"I must confess to my corcern, regardless," The hooded figure looks up. You do as well;
there's nothing but the short ceiling of the second floor, "that they might not live to learn
the lesson."

"Is that guilt I hear?"

"I plan to lend a hand. Soon. Hate is the mark of weaklings, and I do not have us both for
such a sad description."

"Neither do I, yet as you can see this clearly is a matter of culture, an issue of belief-"

They both turn, and as the figure does the humble light reveals it's an Arma. You don't get
to read the headband; a small girl is standing at the end of the alley, still drenched in the
light of the streets. Her clothes are rags no cleaner than the one you just cleaned the
tables with.

"And when culture and hunger clash with one another," the Arma says, as Bashjik beckons
the girl to come closer, and she does, "what will thrive?"

Your eyes widen, as from Bashjik's fancy sleeve a scarlet red rose slides to his hand.
The knight presents it to the girl, who stares at
it blankly while taking it. She takes a bite; looking at the knight with calm eyes, petals slip from her lips as she chews on
the scarlet rose.

Last time on European Dragon Quest, we found our daughter, who turned out to be friendly and adorable, then we tried to make Beastmen into her friends, and that sort of thing...

But for right now, we're not playing Renexizious. We're playing as Viktorious.

Character Sheet: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jI0aGxA_2h3SAcPYri-1fdgskbK3IbtfEzSLJ7VY9gU/edit
Twitter: QuestingQM

You are currently Viktorious, President of the USA, son of Renexizious, and generally very ambitious. Oh, and a red motherfucking dragon. Which means you make for a great friend when it comes to barbecuing, as the Americans are so fond of, or generally destroying stuff... Which makes your soul feel at ease...

Right now, you are not a fifty story dragon pillaging the countryside or actually doing anything. Your just sitting in your Oval Office, smoking a cigarette... Rather thematic for you, being a dragon that can breathe fire after all...

Feeling relaxed, you lean back into your chair, and look at the painting in the Oval Office, such as George Washington (who've you always really liked, in your honest opinion), and... That guy. FDR. You never really liked him. In fact, you have plans to move that man from your office back down to the art gallery, and replace that with Abraham Lincoln...

Abraham... You sort of feel a little bad for how you behaved during the election, when you were much younger and less mature... Well, it's in the past now, at the least.
This is when you get a call on your desk, startling you...

It's a normal phone, not the RED PHONE. Which should only be used if your dad's trying to disrupt your ambitions, or some fucking idiot tries to attack.
Which won't end well for them... Since you are the only nuclear power after all...

You let out a slightly evil laugh. Then turn back to work, and straighten your tie. You can't help but be slightly annoyed, you were about to do something after all...

Actions.

>...Answer the phone.
>...Pick up the phone, and tell whoever it is to calmly "shut the fuck up".
>You should go over your life ambitions again, and what your planning to do... You have a lot of work, after all.
>...Grab that portrait of FDR. You need to take care of it now before you forget.
>Pick up the phone and slam it down. You were about to call someone...

You of course, answer the phone.

"Yes? Who is this?"

"Vik? That's you, right?"

It seems to be your sister, Maria! How nice.

"Of course. Do you need anything, Maria?"

"Well, yes... Something very important, actually."

"Right. Well, what is it?"

"...I sort of need you to help me escape from prison."

"What?! How did you get arrested?"

"Erh, I didn't get arrested... Rebels kidnapped me."

"How are you calling me?"

"Well... I'm about to be kidnapped... Can you help or not? Because I don't really know anyone else who can."

"What about literally every other brother or sister we have?"

The phoneline goes dead. And you are furious, personally. So you slam the phone down, which slightly bends it.

But you also can't help but think this is slightly suspicious. Sure, you get along great with Maria... But why call YOU? Your far away... And she never actually said where she was...

Actions.

>...It doesn't matter if your sister's been kidnapped. You'll rescue her, no matter what. Leave the office.
>...You have appointments with a hell of a lot of people today. You'll do those first, THEN find Maria.
>Too suspicious to be worthwhile... You'll send in some Special Forces to find her.
>...Best to start calling people who might know where she is... Like the Serbian Emperor.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" WHUMP

You watch as Munchkin streams across the room, not even trying to stop as she slams right into Fran's leg. She then raises her hand.

"Me. Cake" Munchkin says.

Daniella walks up, looking embarrassed. She stands the Munchkin up and brushes her off. "You need to wait your turn, sweetie"

Munchkin puffs out her cheeks. "Was first" She says.

You turn and look around the room. There is a lot of cake. The one in front of you with the candles is by far the smallest, probably just enough for you and your friends...

You look back at the munchkin, as her mother tries to reason with her.

"But... but was first!" Munchkin says.

You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and your lovely, charming wife has a certain sensitivity to Nepeta cataria: commonly called 'catnip'. It's a substance she can usually avoid by the smell, but that Coyote has succeeded in sneaking in with the pipe-weed he sent you to share with her. The result? Yoruichi is now gazing across your office at you with a self-possessed smirk, the kind of look that means you're going to have your hands full until you can calm her back down again.

“What's happening?” your part-divine shadow, Tenri, asks as she takes a cautious step away from Yoruichi to make sure she's not even close to being between the two of you.

You take a moment to check the location of the nearest window, and circle slowly around the room to ensure that it's directly behind your new position. Yoruichi watches the movement, her keen eyes locked on you.

“When she's exposed to catnip, Yoruichi can get a little... forward,” you explain, choosing your words carefully. “It's not like she does anything she doesn't want to. More like she can't not do the things she does want to do.”

“Don't you worry your little head,” Yoruichi purrs, sparing Tenri a glance out the corners of her eyes as she slowly saunters towards you. “You're not the one I'm interested in.”

You sigh wearily, considering your options. Though it's not as bad as it used to be, there are only a few people in the Seireitei who can deal with Yoruichi in the rare cases where she gets like this. In Kisuke's case there's a certain trick to it: in the past he's suggested that Yoruichi do things she already kind of wants to do anyway, which only works to the degree that her own priorities can be aligned with his. Suì Fēng on the other hand was occasionally able to get Yoruichi to listen to her back during her days as a Lieutenant, but never where catnip was involved. But your burden is by far the heaviest in the sense that Yoruichi is almost always willing to cooperate with you, likely even now.

“Guess I've got no other choice then,” you admit, removing Tenkotsuki and Kobara no Tachi and setting them aside. “Let's do this.”

“My pleasure,” Yoruichi replies, her almost sweet tone at odds with the fact that she's already throwing the opening punch. “It's only a few minutes, so let's have some fun!”

Though you stop her initial lunge with your arm Yoruichi follows through in a way you don't expect, hooking her leg behind yours and turning to strike with her elbow. Even though you block her strike again the force pivots you over her leg, and you both crash to the floor with you on your back and her on top of you.

“And here I was expecting a fight,” she taunts as she pins you down by your shoulders. “But this could be nice too.”

“Were you really? Because it seems to me like you were holding back.”

Yoruichi laughs softly to herself, and her grip on your shoulders relaxes ever so slightly. "Now whatever gave you that impression?"

“How many years have I known you for?”

Yoruichi's grin turns devious. "I held back, wife, because I knew you would be holding back as well. Remind me, how many years have I known you for?"

“More than I like to admit,” you grumble.

It seems from her attitude like you were right, and that while she's not totally in control at the moment Yoruichi will still pretty much cooperate with you however you want to handle this. You have to keep her occupied and out of trouble somehow, for her own sake and for those around you, and two options immediately suggest themselves. Behind you is a window that leads out into the courtyard where Tatsuki has been training, and if you can roll Yoruichi off of you it'd be easy to lead her out there. After that you could kill two birds with one stone, entertaining your wife with a fight while giving Tatsuki a demonstration of hakuda at its highest level. That way you could turn Coyote's little prank to your advantage, and 'outplay' him.

Or you could just put her to sleep.

Yoruichi's energy and enthusiasm may be near-limitless, but right now she's relaxed enough that she's being pulled in two directions. Part of her wants to play, part of her would rather just take a nap. Appeal to that latter half and you may get her to simply clock out on the spot, also outplaying Coyote in the process.

It feels good to have options.
