This quest is heavily inspired from darkest dungeon,
In the thoughtless expansion of the empire, the Hurisa, a tribe of savages, always avoided a certain shore, a squad was sent there only to find corpses of seagulls , fishes and whales at the entrance of a cave that reeks of death
This squad will uncover the dark secrets of this cave....
....or wither away against the tides of evil inside.
Seven Men and Women obeyed the words of the empire and started to delve into this ill-omened cave:
Litius, the grand officer and the head of this expedition. A stern man with a mighty greatsword that slew many enemies of the empire.
Osla, the unseen, the eyes of empire...the silent shadow that follows and pries. The dagger that shines in the darkness. A woman of few words.
Motun, A combat engineer, a cheerful fellow with an optimistic view on the world. That ought to change soon....
Jonah, a young marksman with a keen eye. He is the latest addition to this squad.
Kyluk, a man of medicine and an old friend of the Grand officer. Curiosity brought this man here....will it be his death?
Yaldiham, the shield of the empire. A woman robbed of her tongue but not her heart of gold.
Ediyal, A pale Officer, one of the empire's few arcane users. She aims to impress the Grand Officer and everyone else with her powers.
"Death holds dominion here in here....be on your guard." said the Grand officer as the party entered the cave.
It was small, very small with a carcass of a bloated man in the center. Poor soul must have drowned and have been dragged here. Still, that does not justify the mysterious deaths of all the wild life around this cave.
"Something is amiss." the pale officer felt a disturbance. not a blink later, the ground below their feet gave away. Some slipped to the abyss below others were lucky.
>Please select 4 of 7 heroes and their formation
Each (most of) character has HP, formation , skills and Perks some are positive, few and negative.
Status effects:
Move: A target switches location with another either forward (pull) or backwards (push)
Blight: A rampant disease violates the body chipping health each turn
Bleed: Open veins spurts blood each turn
Stun: Target is incapacitated for one turn
Debuff: mainly negative roll modifiers.
Mark: target receives double damage
Let me explain the following:
O Q Q Q Q Q O O
Vanish: 1-3 damage (d10), moves to 4 , +6 stun
The three Qs indicate where the unseen can be to perform this skill. d10 is the dice for the roll, moves to 4 means that the unseen will go back to the fourth row where he will be more efficient.
The other 2 Qs indicate the target of this skill
+6 means that if the roll is 7,8 or 9 it will apply a bonus which is a stun in this case.
.
Q O O O O Q-Q eviscerate
The linked Qs means that both two Qs will be affected by this skill
.
The marksman have to reload after each shot
..
Ignitium poweder: 0.5 damage x (3d110), 2 +9= Stun for 1 turn means that if two rolls are 9 or above the bonus will be achieved.
Turns:
At the start of the combat, one player and 1 will roll 4d10, if there is a duplicate number (i got a 9 so did the player ) priority goes to the player
example:
Ally's 4d10
2,6,3,9
enemy's 4d100
6,5,1,7
turn goes like 9,7, 6 (player), 6 (enemy),5,3,2
any question?

It is dark.
So dark down here.
The officer leaned on his sword to stand up on this slimy dark mire. His friend, the silent Aegis, the new Marksman and the pale officer were alive. Most of all, none broken a leg or an arm in this unpleasant decent.
The rest are on the surface, they probably went back to the outpost to get aid but the officer knows the nature of these caves; sitting idly will only result in one's death.
There are beasts down there, beasts that have never seen the sun....beasts that yearn for flesh.
There is a way out. It has to be.
For now, the Officer and his party checked their supplies.

The Supplies has been checked, it is time to move onward.
The narrow passage is dark and slippery making very step an act of caution.
The foot-heavy Aegis almost tripped on something...sharp.
A cut masonry stone?
here?
The party awed even more when a ruined fountain ahead was half sunken in this filth. It had a beautiful pendant with a glittering of a gem barely visible in the filth....
>Grab the pendant (Choose who will take it)
>Leave it
>[Pale Doctor] examine the pendant
>>767365
[Pale Officer]
sorry
>>767365
>[Pale Officer examine the pendant
Ediyal was almost knocked out by mere touching the pendant. The woman's blood ran cold "I can hear them....their cries...their pain. So....so many blood has been spilled in the hamlet. It...it is here deep in the heart of this cursed place."
"What hamlet?" asked the officer but the woman didn't reply...her mind was dazed and weak from a simple contact with the pendant.
Pendant of the Bloated
- -5 Hp
- Guaranteed deathblow on death's door (when a hero's health reach 0, he is one death's door....any guaranteed hit will require another roll to determine whether the hero stays on death's door or perish from a death blow)
Take the pendant? [Must be equipped]
>Yes
>No
>>767506
>No
just leave it here, it sounds pretty bad
>>767623
i don't think it's worth the risk
>>767529
This cursed pendant stay where it belongs. The party has more pressing matters. The greed of man have killed a-many. This party shall not be another victim....
Not now at least.
With no source of light navigating in this filth was not an easy task.
Crackles of bones, rotten bones...hidden under the layers of stagnant filth. Everyone can feel them under their feet.
https://youtu.be/bMXy3mYzkws
Suddenly the stagnancy is no more. They rose from the mire. Pale, rotten and drowned.
"Brace yourselves!" shouted Litius
The Pale Officer will start last, she is feeling dizzy

maybe i should buff their health so they won't be one shotted?
basically my fear was from the combat engineer with his puny 10 health so i made some adjustments to the damage dealt to the heroes...it won't exceed 10 in most cases.
speaking of which, i will try to draw crude rendition of the characters.
>>768255

well, not all fights can be epic, and not all monsters are made equal
the death doors thing prevents our guys from being one-shotted, at least

Another path to tread, Another step to doom.
The Pale officer wasn't the same, she would look behind her constantly "They are watch...watching...."
"Keep it quiet! More of these..things lurk in the shadows..." The Marksman whisper but the woman ignored him.
The party wasn't alone, The Grand officer could feel some presence in the shadows.

The pale officer is no longer dizzy
Old buildings of stone are buried in coral, moss and fungus away from the surface....away from the sun. how ? were they built here?
A gurgling could be heard nearby, a group of drowned and other vile creatures where festering on a whale's bloated corpse....they haven't noticed the party just yet. The glimmer of tainted gold shines near the whale's open gullet.
A treasure.
Trinkets
Baubles
All can be obtained.

Im lurking the thread, pretty new to quest threads and I have no idea how to do the combat. But I really like the story to it
>>769709
I'm from the Evelyn thread, really like your drawings and it looks like a neat story, but yeah the mechanics are kind of complicated/hard to grasp. I think I understand how rolls translate into the order of characters, but is this also an indication of a physical order of characters? The stuff on the skills like eviscerate seems to imply that, so the idea is that you have to be careful using certain abilities because they can potentially cause friendly-fire?
list of current heroes.

Among closer inspection, the party was shocked to find a shriveled corpse of a child clutching to a piece of paper among all those coins.
It was a message that was never sent.
Dearest Emilay
My love to you is all above else but our forefathers have wronged something beyond our comprehension.
It demands an offering of wealth and blood lest the sin shall consume us all.
The guilt is too much for me to bear, my dearest. Your blood....My unborn child's blood. they are turning me mad. I am going to join you soon my beloved. Pray the sin won't consume us all....

>>773859
yourself only... can be used outside of battle as well.
>>773859
truth to be told. this quest is more demanding than any other quest per session and i have done my share of numerical quests like xcom and fallout.
I think that is enough for today unless you want me to take a break, you already said you sleep in a couple of hours and i am not sleeping anytime soon. As much as i hate to do this but we will wrap this quest by tomorrow with just the final boss(es) instead of the three i have already planned. I , well, mainly made it for you anon.
sorry.
>>773859
also
what do you want in the next episode?
>>774078

"Ha...hahehea, after all these years, the empire have remembered us. what a ....delicious irony..."
A severed head resting on a large Ominous door addressed the grand officer . it had corals and moss and yet it spoke without a body.
"PLEASE! Tell me where is the heart of this...this madness?" The pale Officer cried.
"Oh but my dear...you have seen nothing. I suppose all of you are clueless as we were. Well allow me to flab my gums a bit "

[green " i was like you once, a proud pale officer sent with my grand officer to claim new land for the empire. we were the first expedition in this savage land.
we found it, fish, whale, seagull....all went to die here....to honour the goddess of the sea , Sinn.
with our combined forces, we enslaved her unborn child, an abomination of eldritch and man. Fearing for her 'perfect child', Sinn served this so called fishing hamlet as a beacon for sea riches for the empire.
but we didn't even send a single sardine, without the mother, the child was hungry and hungry until it...expired.
Sinn clutches to the corpse of her child. even after feeding him lifeless children, she is still in delusion. She used her powers to kill and morph everyone to her 'children' but she is not aware of her action...soon,she will swim outside, empire or not...all will fail to subdue her in her prime
Please deliver us from this evil kill Sinn and her children " [/green]

>>775939

You hugged her "It is done. Let us not speak of this evil again."
A giggle escaped her mouth. The rest of your comrades and some reinforcements were galloping their way towards you in the horizon.
If only they would have come earlier....
Red End
That was the end of that. Thank you for your participation and sorry for this terrible art. I hoped you enjoyed this anon. tell me what you think about this episode.
>>779104
thanks for running. that really was something
the art really added to the whole thing
the instakill took me by surprise (especially as the death door mechanic is supposed to prevent that)
again, thanks for running, i really enjoyed it
so, what were the other planned endings?
>>779128
well the quest was supposed to be longer but i gutted it for length's sake. I had two more bosses planned before the final show down.
As for the endings
Green ending; Kill all three at the same time, tell Sinn that her son is dead and convince her to slumber till the end of times away from the pain of humans
Grey ending: either lose the final fight or leave Sinn after killing at least one of her sins. She will be free attempting to make the perfect child
Black ending: Attack and kill the son of Sin (his health actually goes to -80) She will...either force a male character to bear a child with her or morph a female character into her perfect child, this perfect child is the 'child of hate'
Yellow ending: Tell Sinn that her son is dead after killing at least one sin. She will kill herself
Blue ending: Bearing a child with Sinn will create a 'child of love'. Either Marksman or Grand officer will be ascended to a higher being ruling the sea with Sinn and caring for their child
>>779104
>sorry for this terrible art
Still much better than mine man.
I didn't interact much because I have terrible luck and never make good decisions in the long run, but it was a really cool quest.
What other ends were available?
Also, what happened to your name?
>>779194
Yeah, Captcha was being weird and i didn't see that post until I'd already clicked post.
so let us talk about the two suggested ideas.
>Apocalyptic notzombie quest.
-simple premise
-survival
-forging relations
-making enemies
-making choices
-simple plot
- too generic
- has been done to death
>Notbloodborne quest
-deep plot
-requires more effort/imagination for bosses/npcs/areas...etc
-will take a lot of time to finish
-lots of variables
- will probably be associated with more of my terrible drawings
-haven't been done before (i think?)
so let us have a friendly discussion, which one should i choose, each have its own pros and cons....unless you want something else.
>>782420
I'm gonna go for BB quest, and Snow, I keep telling you, your art fits with your writing style, it's good.
Also, just wondering, is there any chance that you'd go back to or restart the Souls quest you had a while back?
>>783001
i doubt it to be honest although i would love to (plot is much easier and straight forward)
>>783047
What plans did you have for that if any? I remember the bird guy in the sky, and the strange eye man, oh and the woman murderer.
>>783047
