Hi /p/, I feel like this is the best place to ask this. I'm on a college budget, so I don't exactly have money for a dedicated camera, so my Galaxy s5 serves that purpose. I have a little disposable cash and I'd like to purchase a mobile instant printer. Do any of you have experience with the Fujifilm Instax, Polaroid Zip, or the Canon Selphie printers? The price of the printer itself doesnt concern me all that much, I'd just like to know what has the best picture quality and most cost effective paper cartridges. Any advice?

They're very bad, but very convenient.

Like I said, I'm taking pictures on a phone, so I can't expect the kind of quality a lot of you actual photographers get with woth your prints. I'd just like to know the best based off of the quality it can get, compared with its convenience. The Selphy for example has to be plugged in and weighs twice as much as the other two I mentioned, but if the quality is significantly better, I might consider it. I'm not limited to these three either, they just seem the best out of what I've found.
>>
>>2762327
just get them printed at a shop? you will get quality prints for 1/50th of the cost of a printer

Let's say I want to be able to move freely through police cordons during demonstrations and riots. If I get myself a
- professional looking camera with a huge lens and petal hood
- orange reflective vest that reads "PRESS"
- and a fake press pass (pic related)
is it gonna work? Will the police let me through?
19 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Maybe, but probably not.

There's no such thing as a real press card anymore, because of exactly what you're describing doing. The way to get through a cordon is to be real press and work the beat long enough that the cops there know and like you.

Well it's not bad. I like the mood and the composition is decent. For any more?
>>
It's fine. I think the crane going up through the middle of the photo blends in with the edge of the tall building, making it hard to tell what your subject is between the two. I think I would have stepped to the left as much as possible for the shot, but clearly you're on a roof so who knows if that was possible.

Was that an HDR ?
Something went wrong right there

Though it's a pretty fine picture, maybe it would have been better to go to monochrome rather than just washed out colours, but if it's your first few months, not bad

How do portrait photography studios make money?

Who the fuck is paying money to have their portrait taken? I mean seriously, are they just doing awful family portraits and children portraits day in and day out???

Uncle Terry, Peter Hurley.. I get it.. they are super successful, but I am talking about all the average photography studios.. I am in my 20s and only know 2 people who have paid for portraits.. I have the original Q, and it's pretty sweet. Poor low light performance, but a decent C-mount lens helps a lot with that, and the Q7 has a slightly bigger sensor. Plus the crop factor is nice, makes a 50mm lens have a decent range in a small form factor.

I've always wondered - in modern xray machines giving digital files as output - what's the sensor? It used to be xray film and that makes sense for xrays of large body parts - it has to be large. Do they really make ccd-like sensors the size of a human chest nowadays?

I like the colors. I wish there wasn't that shadow creeping up on the left hand side, as it seems out of place.

I would have moved to the left in order to position the tower in-between the two buildings in the background, right now it's obscuring half of the one on the left which looks odd.

I keep posting in the rangefinder thread but its pretty much dead.
Basically I'm a poorfag and brought a FED 3 in very good condition.
The only thing out is the vertical alignment.
From reading around the internet I still cannot figure out how to do this, I have no problem with the horizontal alignment though.

TL;DR I am noob help me calibrate my FED 3

how bad is it?
I have a zorki where the vertical is off just very slightly and it's still perfectly usable. To calibrate the vertical on a zorki you need to take the top plates off and then adjust screws inside the camera.

Search flickr to figure out how to do this, i'm not sure.

if you don't have to do it, don't.
>>
>>2761056
Its only the vertical and its not too bad so I can focus still, but its not easy.
From what I've read you need to take off a bezel off but I'm not sure if it's the front circle window or the viewfinder bezel.
Also I have no clue what to do after I take off the correct bezel.
>>
>>2761056
>if you don't have to do it, don't.
probably the best idea, but I've heard its easy to do.
