It's boring.
And shit.
2/10
okay but I mean like why that's not feedback, that's a statement. ..
it's simple, good composition , but overall its a little boring, very cliche, not much else is going on.

Not sure what your focus point was, the car?
Why did you pick the aperture setting you did?
The light just peaking out from the guy's face is annoying. You should have moved to the left so it was hidden behind his face. ISO is super high, so there's a lot of noise.
Compositionally, nothing is going on.
i see the light never noticed it and it is pissing me off. The focus point was suppose to be him looking over the cars. I am really not certain how to use the camera i have
>>2762483
>step 1: take pictures during the daytime or at least somewhere where there is actual light, so you don't have to use iso 6400
this photo is unforgivably bad. you need to do some actual research before coming here for critiques. Go read a book or watch some tutorial videos.
How can I get this type of photo filter.. Something that looks aged / 70-90s type of photo...

I'm not paying for anything, but he got everyone excited and then disappeared, it sucks. i love the /p/ book, thats why i'm only here at the very end and beginning of every year (and that this board just sucks)

At least the voting guy laid out a timeline.
Guys, I just realized something that's really basic but apparently not widely known outside of cinematographers.
35mm movie cameras shoot vertically, so they're really shooting what we'd call half-frame for still photos. Basically the size of APS-C.
FOOL FRAME BTFO

Alamby?
>>2753533
No I'm not a NEET.
I just picked up a 23cii for home use and there's no darkroom thread on the first few pages, so time for a new one.
I want to print both 35mm and 6x7 negs. Currently I have a Schneider Companon 50/4 in my enlarger. What enlarging lenses do you guys suggest? I was actually eyeing some fujinon lenses.
Secondly, I'm missing a grain focuser. Do I skimp on this or splurge on the high quality omega "critical focus" ones?
Feel free to post pics of your set up, prints you've made, and questions about general darkroom use.

50mm is only good for 35mm, you'll need an 80mm for medium format. stick with nikon or schneider lenses unless you're broke or can afford leica, even second hand lenses are great.
grain focusers are mostly useful if you're making large prints, for smaller (<8x10), focusing without one will still yield sharp enough prints. it's a very basic mechanism so no need to get an expensive model.
I'll post results / more advice later, cba'd atm.
>>2750724
I've looked at lots of different forums and a lot of people argue about whether an 80mm lens can cover 6x7, some people say a 90mm or 105. I'm going to be printing mostly 5x7, and maybe print 8x10 or 11x14 when I want something nice. The Fujinon 80mm EX, which is a 6 element, is going for like 80, while the el nikkor version is about 100. Haven't looked for longer lenses yet.
>>2750737
I used an El Nikkor 75mm with 6x7 negatives. It'll be fine.
Hey folks,
I recently bought a low end laptop for word processing and scheduling films (I'm an assistant director).
At the same time I'm learning phtography. It just dawned on me that I could use this laptop for some minor photo editing. Nothing too advanced just the basics.
I was wondering if someone here could suggest to me a simple / cheap / low end (performance wise) piece of editing software?
>>2766974
photoshop and lightroom is only $10 a month
>>2766975
wow thats actually great, photoshop doesnt suck system requirements?
>>2766980
Some, but nothing dramatic. It will depend more on the size of the files you're editing, and how dramatic the edits are. If you have 40 layers with smart objects and Surface Blur, yeah, you'll kill it, but for some really low level exposure adjustment stuff, you'll be fine.
What does /p/ think?
What makes a great photo of the streets? Where the full frame is the subject. How do you make it great?

What that means senpai, get fucken close to interesting subjects.

That is what some might say is fucked but still a picture.
Here's some pics I took from a road trip I did.
We'll start in Cali. These were taken in the hills around San Jose. #3 of these is my favorite pic of the whole set (the other two are unedited). Makes me want to get a wide angle lens and get into landscapes...

Photography like Todd Hido?
I'm looking for photography that has that suburban mistery. Eerie fog, lights. I'm not sure how to describe. I remember there was a french photographer who had a similar style but I can't remember his name.

The only thing I know is that it is the worst type of Photography if you want to make money. There is a Canon explorer of light who works near me (Canon explorers of light are essentially sponsored and promoted by Canon)..
He works at a small lab developing other peoples photos because he makes less than minimum wage from his own photography.
