Does anyone have anxiety about their cars?

I'm extremely afraid of damaging my car and after ever really throttling it I feel remorse and fear as if I did damage to it. Even basic throttling like getting within 500 rpm of redline makes me feel nervous or tense. I always fix the few things that go wrong and keep up with maintenance, however everything about my car makes me feel anxious. Today I was driving somewhere and I heard a light rattle in the dashboard. It was a small trim piece loose but when it happened I could only think about the dash completely falling apart. I also have the car's scheduled 3000 mile old change coming up soon and can only think about the car's engine blowing the fuck up whenever I drive it. It isn't like I'm driving a completely unreliable turd, it's a mid nineties American v8 that just rolled over to 100,000 miles a week ago. Am I alone in thinking like this?

don't worry about it unless you're overheating and prone to problems

yeah im exactly like that

>washing car last sunday
>find a scuff on the bumper

>spend next 6 hours questioning myself if i somehow scuffed my bumper with something
>later find a picture of the car when i got it and the scratch was already there.

So much this

Why own any "sports car" that can't outrun an Accord?

Does "outrun" entail just a straight road? Because I could easily lose that pigfat sedan on a twisty road with over 100hp less.

Dunno but new jags are muh dick status. And thankfully plenty of manufacturers make all those electronic nannies (lol lanewatch) optional as part of some gay "safety package".
So new cars are at least safer, faster, and more efficient. Just dont buy A-B shitboxes

I park in a parking garage that has 15 levels. I've never driven manual, but I'm thinking about getting one. I'm just worried that driving up the garage and down the spiral descending loop will be a pain in the ass, as well as parking in tight spaces. Can anyone tell me their experience with this?

I don't understand why every person that has never driven manual transmission thinks it's some sort of high difficult ritual to operate an extra pedal of the transmission god's. Dude chill out. There's nothing difficult about it. Think of it as driving normally just in a smaller space.
>>
>>15903462

I was afraid of this too when I first started to drive manual.

It's not a big deal unless you have to do an uphill start and the car behind you is literally less than a foot away from your bumper and you're really slow but you can fix that by using the parking brake technique
>>
dont listen to them you WILL end up rolling backwards and fendering somebody

Anyone work as an automotive detailer? What does your day consist of?

The reason I'm asking is as tomorrow I'm going to be heading up to a decent sized used car lot to apply as an automotive detailer / reconditioning agent.

I don't have a portfolio. In fact I've only worked on a handful cars & trucks. Mostly family and friends with the occasional neighboring neighbors vehicles. I've charged friends and family, even the neighbors. I enjoy doing it for work compared to anything else I've done. It's quite rewarding when you finally get to the end. Then you get the added bonus of seeing your work moving around town. I'd say it's something I'd say I'm passionate about.

Tl;Dr
>What does your day as a detailer consist of?
>Average check / going rate?
>Tips on getting a job as a dealer
>Do you get to use the bay afterwards? Place specific possibly?

I'd enjoy the job but I'm probably not the best candidate. Suggestions for selling myself?

Weak points include
>Interior stain removal
I've never had to do it so I don't have experience doing it.

Just say you have plenty of experience detailing friends and families cars, mention how you would apply with pads by hand and would like to learn how to use a machine buffer. They will know you are interested and willing to learn

I just got a 2016 mazda 3

Picked up a set of 87-93 Fox pedals. They fit, you just have to cut off the excess. On 84-89 Mark VIIs it is pretty straight forward. 90-92 need a bit more cutting.

I picked up this Craftsman set
>pic related
Cause it was less than half of any other listed price I had seen.
It's OK.
It works.
But to me, it takes up too much space.
Know what I mean? There's too much space in between sockets and just wastes drawer space.
That and the plastic pieces are so large that unless you have one of the large chests-o-drawers you can't fit more than one pieces in a drawer at a time.
Nice idea and all, just not practical.
>>
I like the metal socket rails. Compact and portable.
>>
>>15902697
i like those cheap trays with the pokey things to put your sockets on. I just use one for 3/8" deep since I use those 95% of the time. I just grab that tray out of my tool box and put it near where I'm working, then grab the 10mm 12mm and 14mm and keep them with me since that's the majority of the sizes I need on my cars.
