Woohoo. But they did they have to make it so hideously edgy?
Noob here. I get the difference between a 2 stroke and 4 stroke engine cycle, and how gas vs diesel engines work. But how does it start? No videos show how the cycle fucking starts and it's bugging me.
>>15913603
>starter turns the engine over
>starts sucking in air
>fuel pump and injectors throw in fuel
>computer tells the coils to fire
>>15913622
I'm more interested in diesel.
So the starter is like an electric motor powered by the battery that starts turning the piston? And then as soon as the first injection gets ignited, it runs on it's own? How does RPM and different gears affect things?
Technically?
Compression is the first/last stage
Compression
Combustion
Exhaust
Intake
Exhaust can also be first.
The Porsche Cayman looks bad from every angle.
I like cars
>Wrong Opinion Thread
I'd say that's a popular op8nion
Its an ugly car
Hey boys.
How's that coal rolling going?
Got my Punto remapped today with extra diesel injected on the top end.
Coal rolled the whole day :D

>300bhp V12
>3 speed automatic gearbox
Why?
>>15913375
>british made
there's your answer, toni
300bhp so around 275hp converted? what is it, 5.5L? weird for a british power but can be okay in american vehicles with small output and big displacement.
probably makes a unique sound too. jags have never really cared about vehicle duration so why not?
3 speed automatic because of old school and not very good rev matching tech. hell, no one cared about fuel consumption back then especially if you're getting a w12 vehicle. might as well have a few overrevs before you shift
>>15913375
Because the 4 speed Borg Warner transmissions from the straight 6 cars couldn't handle the power and torque of the V12. So they went with a strong, reliable trans from GM. There were manuals, but not in the US.
I've asked myself the same question OP. They could have just taken the 4L60E or something.
What do all you guys do for a living?
How do you afford your bikes?
Do you finance or buy outright?
New or used?
I see a lot of guys with nice bikes on here and i could barely afford mine, so I was just curious what kind of work you all did.
Finance and haggle
>>15913362
if you think bikes are expensive how will you ever hope to buy a house?
Finance :^)
Will this ever be a thing again?
Genuinely competitive race cars that also happened to be sold as normal consumer products?
The Viper
It wasn't so much that they sold racing cars for the road, it was more that they raced stock road cars.
>>15913160
The Type 35 was designed with competition in mind.
I've currently got a 2008 GTI, but a change in work will soon bring sandy dirt roads into my life, and so AWD has become a bit of a necessity. I very much like hatchbacks, and while there are some very obvious answers in the Golf R, Focus RS, and STi hatch, I was wondering if there were any more interesting options I might be overlooking, including older cars, but not projects. Once I have the time for that, it'll be an AWD classic Mini. ;)
>>15913091
WRX is the only option if you don't want to break the bank.
>>15913129
The sandy bullshit comes with more money, I'm not entirely sure just how much yet, and by soon I mean 2017... but... that's real soon for me and this kind of decision, so I want to make sure I know my options.
I couldn't justify a car in San Francisco, despite wanting one, so I got the GTi when I moved to LA, but ended up working from home; haven't even put 40,000 miles on it yet. This time I know I'll be driving.
Golf R is a crappy Haldex 4WD meme system, so if you need traction for shitty conditions then absolutely do not get one. Focus RS 4WD also is not really for adverse conditions, it's for getting good lap times on dry warm tarmac. The STi hatch is your best bet. It even has diff settings for different shitty conditions.
how smooth is your engine /o/?
put a glass of water on it and rev it out. if the wine spills then your engine is rough. if it doesn't, then it is smooth. thoughts?
>>15913027
My 1uz can blanace a dime on the intake manifold while I bring it up to redline.
>tfw you put a glass of water on your rough engine and wine spills everywhere

What vehicle would Jesus have driven? Must be similar to a donkey, the only form of Jesus' locomotion that is canon.
Post the most recent photo of your car.
Also anybody CWU?

you're already half way through this, go full mad max and do shit like pic related with your shitbox.
Test fitting new wheels I got for a good deal. They have snow tires on now but come next spring I'll put summers on these wheels and winters on the smaller wheels that came with.
