Help me buy a new car. I've got $30k I can spend.
I've been looking at these
'97 Viper
'08 Supercharged GT500
'05 Elise
You guys got any other recommendations? Or reasons why those are trash

>New car
>Lists old, and probably beat to shit cars that are expensive to maintain
Sorry you have a small penis, my condolences.
>>16093875
Thank goodness I'd actually be able to check out the car before buying it.
>>16094031
Thank goodness my ass can cover most major faults in a vehicle for up to 100 miles and you'll be none the wiser.
Face it, if you're asking /o/ you don't know jack shit anyway.
This is a very nice car. And IF it's realible too then it's an absolute supermachine!
>>16093531
Front end looks ugly as fuck. Would not bang/10
>>16093531
other than the Alfa grill, it looks like a Hyundai and will probably be built like shit
>>16093531
Looks great. It's hard to believe that anyone would find a McMustang to be even remotely aesthetically tolerable when we have cars like this in existence.
Makes you think, huh?
What's the general procedure for legally registering a RHD car in the USA, both >25 years old and <25?
As I understand it, at least as it pertains to Japanese cars, their VIN isn't registered on any system the DMV/DOT uses here in the states, and that you'll basically have to get a nigger-rigged title to the car.
Does anyone know more about this or have any experience? I'm considering importing a vehicle and would like to know if it's more trouble than it's worth.
we need a sticky so people stop asking this question.
You have the internet at the touch of your fingers yet you come to this vietnamese basket weaving forum for advice on importing a car.
Something tells me you are underage and playing pretend because if you were serious you wouldnt be here

Yeah, a sticky would be helpful.
Also, thanks for actually replying with some helpful links, looks like there is a positive to attentionwhoring tripfags :^)
Thanks m8.
>Convince me not to.
Go for it. It's not my money.
>>16092795
Bet you won't
On a purchase that huge that you are going to have to pick up or arrange your own shipping on anyway it's probably best to contact the seller directly and save both of you the fees. Plus eBay iis kind of hard to negotiate through.
What the fuck even happened to this board? Everybody who posts is on some extreme end of shitposting and general retardation
>Hurr every car I don't like is gay
>Hurr my hot pink Nissan Micra isn't gay
(admittedly "gay" is not a proper argument period, but still)
>Hurr FWD is just as good as RWD
>Hurr every FWD car is shit
>Hurr every X nationality/brand/whatever is shit because I'm parroting /o/ shitposts
>Hurr every X nationality/brand/whatever makes nothing but good cars
>Hurr only retards would buy a car newer than my 30 year old shitbox
>Hurr I bought a brand new civic so you're all jelly poorfags if you don't like it
>Hurr blatant generalizations
>Hurr cherrypicking
>hurr durr power doesn't matter cause I can corner slightly better than the average econobox
>hurr durr power is everything even if my car weighs 3 tons and still takes 10 seconds to get to 60
>hurr you're not an enthusiast if you don't know this obscure fact about this obscue car/not an enthusiast if you don't do every single job on your car by yourself because enjoying cars is the same thing as being a NEET who has too much free time and a superiority complex from reading a basic manual
>hurr everybody is an enthusiast if they call themselves one
Fucking christ, even /v/ has better argumentative discourse than this shithole. It's impossible to discuss anything because everybody is just shitposting with "facts" that they took to heart from other shitposters or stale memes. Nobody knows shit about anything and you find one side of an argument retarded, they go full "us or them" and label you as the other side, not to mention /k/ and /pol/ spillover derailing half of threads with their attention whoring and hamfisting politics into everything. Can Hiroshimoot "hire" new mods to actually enforce rule 3
How about you back off on the Micra talk, fella

The knowledgeable trips got tired of 14 year old bus riders and left.
We used to have a lot of skilled builders. I myself rarely post here- such a small percentage care about anything other than "my shitbox my mommy gave me is better than your shitbox" that its a waste of my time.
>>16092607
All the good posters mostly left as the shitposters got more active. I don't know why I'm still here.
Anyone have any experience owning or driving a Lincoln Navigator? I'm looking at getting a 2007-2014. Might consider 2005-06 since it has the 6 speed too.
Never given much thought to them until recently, but it looks like there is a lot more room for passengers on the Expedition platform vs the Tahoe and Suburban. Expedition also has independent suspension all around and Navigator has a nicer interior. Only downside is the anemic 5.4 SOHC but it's enough for what I want.
Bump
>>16092387
literally why? it's a fancy expedition. shit mpg.
if you need to tow, get a truck, if you need to haul people, get a minivan.
>>16092387
Why do you want one over any other SUV. DO you need a lot of space? Why not save $10k and just get the Expedition?
It's Halloween.
Post spooky cars.
>>16092187
This thing is over 13 years old.
Why aren't they changing the design?
>>16092172
Because the design is perfect. They've updated the interior electronics, that's about it.

I'm looking for a project car. A car from the 90s most likely or late 80s. I want it to be Ford or at least american. Something I can fix up and race. I know people are going to say mustang but I don't like the 94-98 ones and foxbodys are hard to find or too expensive.
Monte Carlo?
>>16092143
Feiro. Any trans am.
>>16092143
>foxbodys are hard to find or too expensive.
well they ain't gonna get any easier meanwhile parts will remain plentiful for decades to come so look harder
My cars thermostat needle keeps reading high as I continue to drive, I've filled the radiator cap with water etc, but it's still reading high every time I drive. I also hear a rattling noise when I slowly accelerate. The car is an AE82 Corolla with a 4AC engine if that helps. I'm not into cars and just need some friendly advice.
Flush or replace your radiator, replace the thermostat too while you're at it
Check and see if your fan is coming on too
>>16092044
Check for dead animals and garbage stuck in front of the radiator.
Change thermostat and flush the coolant, do a good long flush. A monkey can do this OP.
Start your car, let it heat up and check if there is smoke when the gauge pegs to high, if there is, turn it off immediately. If not, check to see if Engine fan comes on. If not, replace.
This shouldn't cost more than 100$ if you DIY
What went wrong?
Things went right, rather
nothing
it all went according to the master plan
i'd much rather have an xe over a c180 or a base model 3 series
they stopped looking like jaguars and look like everything else
When starting to mod a car is it better to aim at power mods or handling mods first?
>>16091874
How long's a piece of string?
It's better to have an idea where you want it to end up, and start buying what ever you need to complete the whole build whenever something comes up cheap or on sale.
>>16091874
handling first, 9/10 times.
First be sure your vehicle is in tip top condition. As it will be a 20 year old shitbox, throw in new oil, filters, spark plugs, belts and shit to be sure the engine works as it should.
Then replace suspension as it will be shot, pick a sporty one. Replace tyres as they will be old, pick sticky ones.
Bum, just putting your car in working condition has improved handling. Now consider what >>16091878 said.
It's hard to see real gains in power without bigger engines or forced induction, handling is a whole variety of things to consider at assorted price points.
What you prioritize is honestly dependent on what you want the vehicle to be capable of.
Is the Hyundai Sonata 2008 a chick car?
>Korean
Gross.
>>16091803
Chick car, no. Mom-mobile yes.
All korean cars are made for girls. Men usually know enough about cars to stay clear of them.
Buy yourself a manly ass hatchback made by Honda or VW.
About to buy 159. Try talking me out of it.
>>16091752
Do it. Do it right now.
Have the courage and strength that I never had and buy one of these beauties.
>>16091752
>Try talking me out of it.
Italian reliability.
>>16091769
That's a forced meme. If you ever had an Italian car, you know they're reliable.
As the title says. What does it feel like to drive a v8 with RWD? Do you have to be careful?
What about v8 swaps into light cars?
>>16091724
based
>>16091724
like being thrown about by big wave at the beach
in how it is slow then sudden and a little out of control
with the high torque v8 you have to be careful with how the power builds
in low rpm treat the throttle like a sponge on top of a banana peel
then after the power has come on and loaded up the tires and suspension you can push the throttle all the way down
v8 that rev high above 6000 rpm can be a bit like high speed L4 or L6
nothing for ages then a big kick that you have to be ready for
>>16091724
That pic is why we voted out of the EU, they're fucking retarded liberals.
