Any year before they put turbos in
>>16119090
i was looking at a 2003-04 S with a 6 speed, they have the fastest factory 0-60 and most displacement. not as nice looking as the newer ones but it isnt that much slower considering the price difference, and at the end of the day ill still be a douchebag porsche owner in the worlds eyes regardless of how much money i actually spend
Are you buying it because fun or because "it's a Porsche"

Alright guys, I'm going to move somewhere with snowy winters soon.
I've never driven in snow before.
How to git gud really quickly? I'm going to sign up for some classes and get winter tires. What else should I do?
Just use common sense.
>>16112657
Start in second. It's shit for your clutch but you get less wheelspin. Also don't be afraid to drive slow. Wait out snowstorms if you can, they suck to drive in and are pretty dangerous.
Give yourself plenty of room for stopping. Speed builds quickly and can be hard to stop on snow. Don't slam on brakes, pump them and keep the wheel straight. Keep an old rug in your trunk to put under tires, get some good mats and a good scrapper. Best of luck m8
I've been looking around at late 90's turbo saab's as a fucking around car and was wondering what the general consensus on /o/ is about them the only thing I've found is that they are pricy to fix is there anything else to look out for /o/?
t25 turbos dont last very long 120k or so. i would go with a 9000 manual aero as it will have the mitsu td04 turbo. With a tune and exhaust you are approaching 300hp.
The 900s are fine, not as well engineered as the 9000, but they are o.k. If you do decide to get the 900 get the SE. 98 would be the best year as it has the suspension improvements from the 9-3.. You could also get a 99 9-3.
If you are relying on a mechanic, i would not get a SAAB, unless you know of a good SAAB specialist. There are enough slightly different things about them to confuse your average mechanic.
pretty fucking annoying to work on too

1997 900SE Turbo coupe Talladega edition owner here. I have no idea what the S and SE stands for. Could you enlighten me?
Is he, dare I say it, "our guy"?
If not him, who is?

You haven't been racing with the right people. Also, Street Racing is usually frowned upon.
What vehicle are you trying to Wangan with?

>I am able to run US/Canadian VINs (anything with a fitting VIN; bikes, cars and so on) and US plates. For plates the same rules apply as VINs; 1981 or newer, US registered, and the plate and state are needed. Plates do work most of the time, but VINs are more reliable.
>Please remove hyphens (dashes) from VINs/plates - unless they happen to be part of a vanity plate. This makes copying and pasting easier.
>I can only run vehicles in/originally in the USA/Canada. If they've been exported from the USA/Canada, a report with their time here will be available. Not yet sure about imported cars.
>Vehicles need to be of the 1981 model year or newer. That's when standardized VINs began. Anything older simply cannot be run for a report.
>There are never I(i), O(o), nor Q(q) in VINs. This is to avoid confusion with 1 and 0. So if you are unsure, it is always 1 or 0 (not the case for classic cars, but they cannot be run anyway).
>VINs must be 17 characters exactly. No more, no less.

daily reminder if this was in the form of a 4 cylinder, and everything scaled perfectly, it would make 175hp from 2.85 liters of displacement.
daily reminder you can't hide shitty engineering with displacement.
>>16113953
If it were a 4 cylinder it would also have half or less the less parasitic loss to drag and funny side loading that can come with V8s, at least a half as heavy (if not lighter) crankshaft due to a change from a crossplane to a flatplane crank and considerable bobweight removal then you're really muddying the upper echelon of rpm it'll wrap not to mention the torque figure and so on and so forth- Handwaving this sort of thing as "everything scaling perfectly" ignores a lot of what is fundamentally at play and is just dumb. Then again I replied to the bait so I guess I'm dumb. Eh, I know there's at least one person here who thinks this sounds legit.

>"Engineering"
I want a car that isn't shit. Paying for some STEMard's science experiment isn't something I factor into a purchase. Just make a fucking car. This is why German cars are trash heaps worth 3k after the warranty is out and Japanese cars hold value to the point you might as well buy new.

Post digital dashboards
who /digi dash/ here?
>>16111703
I'll build one someday. Don't have a car to do it for, but I'll build one someday.
Digital dashboards are just about the most disgusting things I can think of. I want to like them as a quaint retro thing but they're just a step too far. Everything about them feels wrong to me.
