Fun to drive but also requires some experience.
Great car to learn manual in. I could drop the clutch into the next gear without giving it gas and it wouldn't jerk like my si does
What is the best RWD sports car you can buy for under $5000?

Hey /o/
My area has a lot of old people and assholes on the roads, I'm looking for a dashcam to keep me from getting into some serious legal shit if someone pulls out in front of me or steps out in front of me (happened an hour ago actually, nearly hit the fucker)
Also, if I get mugged (I live and drive through a shitty area with a very high crime rate) would I legally be safe if the mugger pushes a few daisies while he's at it? Assuming it's caught on camera of course.
What would you guys recommend? I don't want to spend a ton of money on one since I see them going from $30-$250 on amazon. Thanks.

I got an A118C. Seems to work great for me.
Only problem I have is how it toggles power on/off. It's supposed to turn on when you start the car and turn off when you turn off the car. However for me it only toggles when I start the car, nothing happens when I turn the car off. So I just manually plug it in after I start the car and unplug it before I turn it off. I haven't seen anyone else with this issue so it might just be caused by my outlet or 90's BMW. Might work better if I hardwired it into the system but that takes more effort.
But otherwise, the quality is good and all the other settings work fine.
And don't get a suction cup dashcam. Someone WILL break your window and steal it eventually.
>>16144204
Thanks man I'll check out the cam.
>>16144204
mate i had the same problem in an '04 1 series, the electrics stay on for 5-10 mins after the engine is switched off.
Next time you leave the car, leave it plugged in and exit them lock the car and wait a while, it will go off on its own.
>plug it in
Go buy a hardwire kit for the fusebox you filthy peasant.
I bought a thing. Does /o/ approve?
Also, truck thread.

What year anon?
I have a 92 b2600i. Absolutely love it
>>16143932
'87 B2600. Fenders, lights, and tailgate are missing, everything else is in the back of my cousin's Ranger. Head gasket is blown but I'll be swapping the engine.
Cost me $400 plus ~$150 to transport it.
>>16144046
Good that mitsu engine was shit.
What are you swapping in?
http://i.stuff.co.nz/motoring/86321642/Government-gives-thumbs-up-to-110kmh-speed-limit-on-some-roads
>A 110kmh speed limit looks likely to be introduced on some New Zealand roads.
>Associate Transport Minister Craig Foss said a proposed new speed management guide, released on Thursday, would "modernise New Zealand's approach to managing speed" and enable a limit of 110kmh on some roads.
>"To be eligible for a 110kmh limit, a road will have to meet very strict conditions, including having a median barrier, at least two lanes in each direction and no direct access to neighbouring properties," he said.
Couldn't have come soon enough. Driving at 100 on roads like the new northwestern motorway extension is so incredibly boring, most people speed anyway. What do other kiwifags think? Ausfags need not apply
>10kph more
>which you already do anyway
>only on ridiculously specific roads
Why even bother? This doesn't make sense.
>>16143854
They have finally realised just how dumb the 100kph speed limit is, spurred on by the fact that everyone speeds. The final hurdle is getting it passed all of the bleeding asses who have absolutely no automotive understanding who believe that any speed above 90 is inherently dangerous
>>16143887
110 is just as stupid.

Anyone had any rides from green car? I'm curious how that goes, but if it keeps you from walking home after I inevitably go careening off the road then I'll trust the guy. Maybe.

I would really appreciate serious advice here but I received a car for free. Its a S14 KA24 DE T. Yes it has a turbo on it. There is just one issue, when I had the title transferred in my name he told me that the car would not pass emissions as it has no cat, no egr, external dump, and a really rich tune.
Do any of you know any tricks I could do to get an emissions paper? I live in one of the Colorado counties that requires emissions testing for registration.
I've heard about people paying to pass but I don't know how to approach that. I don't want to attract any unnecessary attention to the car.5
>>16149810
PIC is just a zenki s14 like mine
>>16149810
>Go to the sketchiest mexican shop you can find
>Slip the emissions testers a $20
>>16149821
The problem is that Colorado has so many white people. Pueblo has all the Mexicans and they don't have to do emissions over there.

How low should I try to haggle this?
You have to build a 1000HP car for under 50k. What engine do you use?
>LS
>2JZ
>Modular
>RB26
>4G63T
>Hemi
>something else?
20B
I'd use a Caterpillar C18 Acert tire 3
It's like a 2JZ with one cylinder less and it sounds like a Group B rally car.
I just want one

I really want to import a Honda Acty to burgerland.
Why buy any Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5 or other "luxury SUVs" when you can get a Toyota Land Cruiser which can do legendary offroading, still drives smooth on the road and can be bought for under 90k when most commonly sold luxury SUVs are over 100k?
>Oh you mean fuel economy? Toyota rated this 5.7L V8 beast at 13 - 19 mpg.
TFL did an MPG test on the LC and got a very good unexpected rating of 19.3mpg. Even the owner reports speak out this thing gets near 18 and up. It only gets below 15 when you give it a lot of effort which is understandable.
Also, reliabilty! You can't get that in any of those "luxury SUVs".
fuck yeah nip suvs
wrong file whoops
My friend has one of those. The interior isn't bad, but not fantastic. It doesn't drive or ride as nice as the Range Rover, Cayenne or X5 on the road. Never been offroad in any of them.
My friend gets about 30mpg in his on the highway, which is great.
