Hey guys! Any good reccomendations for truck tires? I have a F150 STX and need some mildly inexpensive tires for all terrain. I've heard Cooper tires were good but haven't heard any praises. I'm currently using the standard tires from Discount Tire that they recommended. The right side of my car needs replacement tires. Would it be a good idea to just get new tires for the whole car or just order the tires I already have? Sorry for so many questions. Thank you.
My vote is for either Firestone Destination at or General Grabber at2. Both are good on and off paved road and neither will break the bank.

Nice tires mayne. Looks much better than the ones I got.

Well /o/, I've fucked up entirely. I think I fucked up my life and my parents are ready to boot me out of the house, this is all because of /o/'s favorite meme car, the AE86. My parents gave me spending money for graduating University with a high GPA score, I truly thought hard on what to spend the cash on and I was browsing craigslist's for weeks, then my parents suggested a nice sporty car that wouldn't break down on me. Lo and behold, I thought an AE86 would be a perfect car, especially after browsing /o/ throughout my uni life.
So I began the hunt and went through countless rust boxes, "I know what I've got", "No low ballers" and more "I know what've got!". After growing tired of searching I found the perfect "cheap one", it looked like a steal. I went to pay the owner a visit, it was some old lady whose husband had passed away and had the car sitting for quite a while, she didn't specify how long but it didn't matter to me being the dumbass I was, I didn't even ask what engine it was, where the rust spots were or any specific important questions about it. I bought the car straight away with pure emotion, I spent $7,500 fucking dollars.
>Mfw I found out the car had the weaker 4AC carby engine and an actual 4AGE and this was AFTER I purchased it.
>Mfw the head gasket is going to blow at any second
>Mfw there is rust in the unibody and a repairman quoted me $5000
things that never happened
>Mfw I found out the car had the weaker 4AC carby engine and an actual 4AGE
gee dagumi, why does your car get TWO engines?

So realistically what auto related bullshit can we expect to disappear with him in charge now? I'm a cucknifornian, are we finally going to see and end to these nazi tier regulations and inspections? Or will that remain a state issue?
Any nationwide changes we could see?
probably stay a state issue
Probably more Detroit protectionism and import taxes/bans because MUH JERBS IN MERIKA.

Say what you will, smog is fucking shitty.
Also shut the fuck up, we have production cars that get over 20mpg, pass emissions AND make 707 hp.
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/5839968561.html how can somebody justify this shit.
One can *ask* for any amount they want...
>$26,500.00

It'll buff right out. That's just surface rust.
$26k is practically free for this. In fact, if I was in LA right now, I'd go buy it for $1000 more than the guy's asking just to make sure nobody else got it.
So I don't really visit /o/
But I had a question regarding the car scene. I got a buddy who has a Subaru STI and he's done some mods and what not, goes to car meets and rolls with his car "squad" right. Well I expressed my interest in always wanting a car I could work on myself despite not knowing cars and just having like an awesome car for myself right. Well now he's pushing me to get a project car and to go with him to car meets and to roll with his "squad" which is a bunch of Subaru's, scions and Toyota's right? But the car I've always wanted to get and work on has either been a Trans Am or an 80's Firebird, which is like none of their cars, so I was wondering on where I would stand with these dudes being the only one with an American car
Do you vape? If so, I'm sure you'll fit right in :)
>>16148259
No, sure don't
I've only seen one dude vape out of everyone I met so far, and it was the biggest dude with a beard, reminded me kind of action bronson
Get whatever you want. I was positive I was an import guy until I drove a third gen Camaro for the first time. Get a Trans Am and enjoy that, they will help you out all the same and you might even convert a few.
How much of a chance a car manufacturer that makes cheap, reliable as fuck cars stand a chance in the US/Europe? They'd have '90s shitbox tier entry equipment, no electronics, simple ass SOHC 2 valve-tier engines and they'd be simple to work on (aka no speshul snowflake bolts/screws that turn into butter as soon as you wrench it), and the main idea or selling point is that they would have no secrets held from the owner and any guy with a technical handbook and a bit of know-how could do not only maintenance but normal mechanic operations on it.
Of course, the styling and aesthetic would be modern, but without being overcomplicated internally.
Pic kinda related.
Not really sure what you're asking but yeah old Volvos are based, there will be a market for them as long as hipsters and old people exist.
>>16148252
I'm asking about a manufacturer that would start selling brand new very reliable cars that are basically modern chassis with mid '80s/early '90s tech that can be wrenched on without having to worry about electronics and if that manufacturer would stand a chance in the US or EU
There's probably a market for basic, affordable, quality stuff, but people really love their gadgets nowadays.
Yes it is.

Hello /o/. Well I'll try to get straight to the point. I have a child on the way and my fiance suggests that I get rid of my work truck and daily commuter (a 1999 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab.) for an SUV or Van for our upcoming child. I really can't afford a new vehicle and I refuse to finance a car at this time. I have a spare $7k in my pocket. Any good suggestions for mid-sized SUVs or Minivans under $7k or should I just... just run far away from my problems and be a potential deadbeat father?

If you're gonna do this do NOT get the first gen ones. Their transmission fail every 110k miles or so.

Well /o/, through my recklessness and trying to be Dagumi, I smacked my car up.
What are my options with it if I don't wanna get insurance involved? Part it out? Save up and fix it? I doubt I'd be able to sell it for any real money in this condition.

I want to DD a Ford Transit Connect.

Its light with small wheels don't expect the ride to be as smooth as a bigger van.
And it handles pretty much like a small car because its based on a Focus.
