It's a real shame that overlanding in general isn't that popular in the US.

I see a lot of crawlers and prerunners but you'd think there'd be a bigger overland community seeing as how easy it is to just drive off into the desert and camp for a few days

It was a nifty light car that was more econobox than sports car but was fun to go sideways in. Was popular during the japanese economic boom so even lower-middle class japanese boys could spend money making it a little faster and more slidey.

>Car pulls to the left and will only go straight if I turn the wheel right around 45°
>Go back to shop, they do it again, and the tech test drives it
>They look at the car on a lift and tell me the rack and pinion may be defective
>They tell me I should take it to the dealer and get it looked at

I do plan on taking it to the dealer but I can't until Monday. I don't really trust shops, does this situation sound sketchy? Looking back I did notice I had to turn the wheel slightly to keep straight but I just thought it was the road I was on. It's a 2015 Fit with just about 40k miles. I doubt I already broke the steering. My cars were beaters and I've never bothered getting an alignment before.

It does sound sketch but not much means of recourse. Take it to the dealer and see what's what. If this was bought new then there should be some kind of warranty. 0k miles even if you didn't buy new ask for the warranty status at the dealer. If dealer says botched alignment then have them put it on paper then show back up at the shop.

I was in an accident and the shop didn't install a plate mount. It scrapes on inclines so I plan on getting a tow hitch mount (debating if I want to pay for the black and yellow plates or just bend my plate back into shape)

A car is inefficient for personal transport.

a 1.5 ton vehicle for a single individual.

A personal transport vehicle should not weigh more then the person being transported, rule nr. 1.

Otherwise, the vehicle is not transporting you from one place or another, you are transporting the vehicle.

Owning a car for commuting distances smaller then 35 kilometers is a terrible waste.

I don't say you can't, you have the freedom to so do, but don't ask me for my money when your pocket is empty, and don't use the state to your means to steal my money. This violates the NAP.

I do not want to be responsible for spend thrifty liberals. You must face the consequences yourself.

This is in no way meant to hard genuine vehicle drivers (business officials, cargo transport, long distance commuting, or for fun if you can have the money.)

All I am saying is, if you are young and you don't need it, don't buy a car because of social pressure or because everyone has one and you think it's a basic necessity for life, it is not. Because the vast majority of car drivers do not need one, they buy one because they are gullible and society tells them to while they can't really afford one, not just in the here and now but also in the future.

For many like myself, owning a car is luxury and not a necessity. I've been living car free for 5 years and saved a lot of money. The majority of car drivers use their cars for commutes under 15 miles and drive it alone. This is unnecessary for the majority. Alternatives are, upright bicycle, recumbent bicycle, motorcycle, velomobile, public transport

I am a free market capitalist, but not a crony oil slurping corporatist. I don't believe in global warming and that "CO2 is bad", but I do like clean city air not filled with nitrogen and sulfide oxides.

I am all for personal responsibility. I just cannot accept that welfare people, which is largely white trash and minorities, still own and drive cars, or even have expensive phones. This should not be possible. Why am I forced to pay for their bad habits? I have a big heart, but the money I give to you should be used wisely and minimally if you are temporaly disabled to work. Don't go out on holidays or own excessive money slurping things like cars because "it's mandatory". This mindset is terrible and really rustles my jimmies

Hi Auto, robot here looking for advice. My 05' Honda Civic LX-se got into a front end collision. The radiator was pushed in but I don't think theres any engine damage as it starts just fine. 73K miles on it.

What can i ask on craiglist for it if anything? would i be better just salvaging it? Also any car dealerships that you can recommend? I should have good credit.

Sorry for the newb post, but i know computers not auto...
