doesn't consume more fuel.
increased cylinder pressure increases torque to fuel ratio.
and being able to use smaller displacement out of boost helps highway mileage.
good thread.
i thought the point was to make similar hp with a smaller motor
is there a more reliable offroader on the market than this?
>>16297236
land cruiser for 10k
How come most off roaders are underpowered turds? $40k 2.5 ton V6 mall crawler is all it is.

Why hasn't the WRX STI gotten faster in the last 15 years while the sports car performance median has skyrocketed? Every new generation only gets a little bit more power, which is made irrelevant by weight increase.
>1998 GC8E 22b
>2.2L making 280HP @ 2800lbs
>2016 WRX STI
>2.5L making 310HP @ 3400lbs
The Focus RS shouldn't be smoking this thing. It should be making closer to 400HP at this point.
For comparison:
>1998 Mustang SVT Cobra
>4.6L making 305HP @ 3400lbs
>2016 Mustang GT
>5.0L making 435HP @ 3700lbs
It doesn't get rallied anymore so Subaru gave up.
>>16297157
the reason the wrx & sti have no noticeable improvements is because subaru fans are so fucking autistic they will buy quite literally anything subaru makes with a performance badge
subaru is allowed to get away with this because they realized their fanbase is going to shovel money into their pockets anyways
if the focus rs was $15k brand fucking new vapetards would still tell you that the sti is better
If it was much faster then all their customers would be dead from tragic highway accidents
Is there any way to transform a regular modern starter to crank?
I'd imagine this would require to just change the main bolt on the crankshaft to allow a crank tool to engage and leave the bolt quickly. Right?
I feel this could be trendy as fuck, specially because of the robustness that would allow you to start with an 100% success rate.
Thoughts?

Engines today are not that heavy, I've been able to turn mine with just a wrench.
>>16297139
just weld the key to the end of a crank

I don't listen to music when enjoying drives.
That's for commuting, you normie.
This is what cars would look like if capitalism failed.
Pictured is a 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser.
On a serious note, why does Toyota make these new cars that look old, and why don't they sell them in the US? Why don't more manufacturers do this in general?
When compared to some of today's designs, these old designs actually have a certain charm to them.
>>16288794
That's a 70 series nigga, it was such a good model that the towel heads couldn't stop buying them, they don't sell in North America any more
Crown Victoria should've stayed in production until the end of time. hell, every manufacturer should have one car that they keep almost unchanged forever.
Will post some more pictures because I find these car interesting. Maybe someone else does too.

Seriously, this Duster with all the bells and whistles would only cost like 20k. That must include AWD with low and high.

Thinking of buying a used car for keeps/daily commute
12k> budget, preferably sedan
2015 mazda 3 @ 35K
2011 avalon @ 61k
something with proven reliability, low mileage, not too old
you could get a 128i
>>16300275

Is that really a parody of that guy at a cosplay convention where he dressed like a maid cat-girl and the camera man thought he was a woman on that helmet?
I can get a Subaru Legacy 2017, base, for 21k, 0apr for 60 months. $350 per month.
I can get a 2016 Mazda3, certified used, 8500 miles, for 15.5k. 4.5% apr for 60 months. #289 monthly payment, total after 60 months of $17,340.
I plan on putting around 22k miles a year on whichever I buy.
I'm leaning toward the Subaru. Mostly for the better warranty/reliability.
Advise me.
i like the mazda 3 but only the hatchback version
>>16300019
get a 2017 impreza with a manual instead
How do you get 0% apr?
