I like them with no face too
how hard would it be to install pop up head lights if the previous owner removed them?
They're fucked aren't they?

I think in the next 10 years they're going to die, but that will be one thing they pull off before they go. If not as a love letter, as something they can mark up and line pockets with.
>>16304515
I seriously don't know why they don't, either. Americans would buy that shit up like Big Macs.
Is the Scion tC worth buying if you want a comfy sporty daily driver?
As long as you understand its just a two door Camry and don't do stupid shit, like put a GoPro mount on the hood.
If the tC was worth buying, do you think scion would've been sent to pasture?
>>16303033
>Is the Scion tC worth buying
No.
There are many other better choices. Especially if you're thinking about modding it in any way.
>bad snowstorm outside

illinois?
I live in the midwest in the north. Every year I have to essentially relearn everything I know about driving. Takes about a week for the fear to be replaced with "WOOOO WINTER". I still fucking hate cornering off the highway though. I have a heavy car.

How old were you when you first learned how to drive?
don't tell me you were 16
>>16299435
Okay, I won't.
I was 14.
I'm 26 and I'm just learning.
Do you use your handbrake, /o/?
Every single time.
Thats what that thing is for? I always thought it was just something to rest your hand on.

So what do you fags think of my car?
it okay
>>16305693
I have a soft spot for the second gen usdm Ford Escorts. You may want to beware the engine. The 1.9L engines were known for dropping valves. I'd swap to either a Mazda 1.8L BP (which was standard on the Escort GT) or the later 2.0L Setec or even later 2.0L Duratec Ford I4's.
>>16305765
>2.0L Setec
2.0L Zetec
Why are steering column shifts unpopular nowadays?
>>16305422
Added complexity and its just a hold over from 3 on the tree shifters from back in the day.
>>16305431
This, console mounted shifters have a direct link to the gearbox.
>>16305431
>>16305453
Oh, so that must explain why everyone is moving to knob style gear selectors, huh
You fucking retards
Is being a mechanic a good job? How much do make a year?
You're going to earn more than minimum wage, for sure, probably looking at around $15 - $25 on average for mom and pop garages, and main stream car services centers.
You really do have to get certified and go to school if you ever want to make the $25, or more.
It's not much, but it's an honest job, and people will always need you because people are stupid. You will also be the go-to mechanic for your friends.
Eventually if you do end up delving into this field, your goal should be to save as much money as possible when you're young so that you can open up your own garage and hire a few mechanics you deem fit. Then you can live a "pretty comfortable" life.
It's just all about the hard work at the beginning and saving as much as possible, keeping costs down, getting well known, etc. After maybe 5-7 years you can open your own place. Right around the late 20s or early 30s is ideal, so you don't deal with the health complications and can raise a family.

That seems to be about right for the shops I've worked with, including one in the family.
