I'm 24. Long story short, I got involved in one major accident and a minor scratch incident in a span of around 3 months, both of which were my fault. My insurance will most likely not renew me next term, and I'll have to deal with that, but I'm hella stressed right now.

But I've been driving since I was legal in Ohio and never got involved in an accident for 6+ years and then moving to California, this happened barely 6 months after I got here.

I'm willing to suck up and say that despite what I said above, I am probably still a bad/horrible driver. But what should I do to improve my driving skills? Taking a defensive driving course is one option but I would like to know if there is any other options that I can reasonably take.

A Restaurant near where my school did there plays would boot cars if they parked there even though they had plenty of parking.

One my friends took the wheel off and the boot home, then tossed it through the tow companies window the next night.

kek, I want to get one when I buy a car just for the lulz
one of my buddies says I'll eventually get my car smashed by someone annoyed by it
>>
I've installed a bunch. Really easy.
Remove tail light
Find the wire that goes to 12v in reverse
Splice your power into that
Find a ground wire
Splice the other wire into that
Usually you can tuck the alarm behind the tail light. Test it and put it back together.
Star warning systems make some nice loud ones.

What the fuck are you talking about. What kind of "automanual"? a DCT or a tiptronic clone? Which specific unit? a $1,500 one or a $30,000 one?

example, the auto in the brz is fucking trash in every possible way. the auto in the 488 gtb is amazing and beats a manual in every possible way.

I want something with an inline six-cylinder and rear-wheel-drive, and I want something that is lower-maintenance than a BMW. Is this the right choice or is there something better out there?

why dont the circled sections on the car pictured curve inwards towards the center of the car

why on earth would a manufacturer cheap out and just brind it straight down

my boyfriend pointed this out to me he isnt a car guy but he made a valid point and now i notice it everywhere

why have the sidewall go straight down to the ground totally ignoring the curvature of the wheel it sits right up aginst

looking at it from a design and asthetic perspective it doesnt make much sense to do what they did

IDK but I definitely want one someday, I think it has a lot to do with it's rugged looks.

I honestly would still pick the Range Rover over the Wrangler because the build quality is just shit on Wrangler's, but for purely an off-road vehicle, I'd probably go Wrangler because I wouldn't be pissed if I fucked it up and it's "supposed" to be "used".

Just had my brand new 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR rustproofed at Ziebart. Cost me a cool $580. Also picked up some weathertech mats and some rally armor mudflaps. I live in the Chicago area and have a 50mi round trip to work 5 days a week. Did I make the right decision on the rustproofing? I just want to protect my investment from salt/rust.

Eh? If you're going to drive it for 10 years I guess but if you're going to sell it in 5 then no.

>complain to boss about how much gas I'm wasting driving to work
>offers me his daughter's old 2002 Cavalier for $500

>right now I don't have my own car and just drive my parents

Should I consider it /o/? I've never seen it but for the $500-$700 range I'm seriously interested. I don't really trust my manager and it was female owned. But again, I need my own car in my name and insurance and that isn't a bad price. Do you think I should seriously consider it?

It's pretty much a Toyota, for the most part unbreakable. For $500 I'd do it.
>>
>>16304372
I'm just scared of the transmission or engine going completely retard. There's a little rust on the door apparently. If I had pics I'd post. I'll talk to him tomorrow depending on how /o/ sways my opinion.

>It's pretty much a Toyota

First gen, yeah, second gen, which the 2002 is, I thought was different. Still pretty much unbreakable.

>>16304346

Go for it. Don't know how the autos hold up, but I learned how to drive stick in my 60k miles ago on what is probably the stock clutch, and at 154k miles on the clock it's still doing just fine.

Don't know if it applies to all of them, but mine rusted out pretty bad. Rockers disappeared pretty quick, and the front subframe is just about shot now. Rockers can be fixed with large amounts of fiberglass and bondo, the subframe is permanent unless you swap it out.

Mine gets pretty good mileage, 12 years old and it still averages 30+ MPG.

Mine was a rebuilt, so it came with some issues, don't know if any of them are common to these cars. Timing chain guides went out, turned out the timing was off by a couple degrees, which explained the stalling in cold weather. Had to replace the wheel bearing/hub a couple of times, brakes are fairly straight forward to service, but you need an allen key for the front calipers and an external torx socket for the rear brake cylinders on a drum brake equipped car. Oil is easy to change, you get to the filter from the top of the engine bay, need a 1-1/4" socket to get the cap off. Struts are easy to change if you need to, pull the wheels off and it's 5 bolts said and done, takes less than 2 hours to do all 4.

All in all, they're pretty solid little shitboxes from my experience with them.

I'll sell you mine for $500 if you live anywhere near Vermont. 2004, 154k miles, 5 speed, manual everything, AC doesn't work, CD player is broken but it has aftermarket speakers and the radio still works, maintenance is all up to date, runs/drives fine, won't pass inspection in my state come next year when they start logging fault codes straight back to a state database.

Twin screw hands down

I've had two twin-screw superchargers, three turbos, and one centrifugal supercharger.

The turbos made the most power comparatively but nothing beats the punch that comes with a twin screw.
>>
Turbo offers broader delivery across the entire range, its cheaper, it has much much greater power potential, and it's not outdated tech that only exists because of baby boomers and their feelings
