Why do some people think like my friend, /o/?
>>16301272
was your 'friend' a girl?
>>16301275
Nope, 20 yr old man
>>16301272
I mean to be fair your friend is right in most cases, though maybe not your own. These big fucking tanks like the Tahoe/Suburban you are showing in that picture are usually purchased by women who are like
>muh vehicle size
>muh safety
>bigger cars i won't die in
>muh visibility need moar see
and thus instead of buying Civics and Corollas that will do everything they need just fine they buy crossovers and SUVs and proceed to do this with them
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8FQDugbhNE
So you're friend isn't entirely wrong in a big picture.
why car manufacturers are complicating hybrids?
keep their current FF shitbox configuration and add an electric motor in the axle, driving the rear wheels.
i don't get why they're complicating shit by cramming everything into the bonnet and driving the front wheels.
even worse they use the same setup for the 4wd hybrids when you can get rid of the useless drive shaft.
it's like they want to sell you shit you don't need for a premium price.
german hybrids are even worse. what a clusterfuck.
Because hybrids are for cucks
>>16301214
because as usual until the aftermarket crowd latch onto it, it wont be worth shit the factory original systems will always be shit.
Something like this would be amazing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-Vck6oCi3A
>>16301214
it's so they don't need to build a whole new factory to create the car. they can build them on the same lines as other cars if the design is similar enough. also saves on R&D and component pricing if you keep the carry over volumes up.
what car do I need to get a GF like Yolandi
Roush.
>>16300674
Anything rusted out with used needles in the back-seat.
Murdered out Subaru.
Hey guys, my car I just bought a 2 months ago is facing some shit, and I don't know much about auto (although I'm trying to learn more). Was wondering if anyone could help tell me what COULD be wrong so I can do as much as I can to fix it.

Last time something like this happened was my 02 Olds Intrigue, and it was the crank shaft position censor. Any idea what it could be, and how much it might cost? Thank you. Also pic unrelated
Probably the alternator
>>16300573
Would it still be able to start with a bad alternator like that? Assuming the battery is dead.
>>16300582
You might be able to start it up but if you can't charge the battery eventually it won't.
Something similar to that happened in my 06 TL. It made it home and died and wouldn't start but started up one more time randomly.
Hey /o/ i posted here a few weeks ago with a video looking for a duramax.
I took your feedback and made a new video.
It was suppose to be me fixing my 1992 eagle talon, but like all shitboxes it blew up. So if you want to see my double chin and me failing check out me bringing the T back to life and breaking it. Fuck thanks /o/

Kinda Sad /o/,
Just sold my Honda Beat and I loved that car.
I got screwed over by a friend who thought he was a mechanic, and left me with a Redneck lawn ornament and a hefty tow charge. Other Priorities in Life prevented me from getting the Beat back up and going, so I sold it.
Cheer me up with some Classic Beats or some Sick S660s

If you weren't required to wear a seat belt would you still wear one?
>>16299642
Yes

Yes

Yes goddammit I'd rather not die
And I know like first response to this is going to be some variant of

or some shitposting graphic about how NOT wearing seatbelts is somehow safer, because high octane contrarianism is what this place is fueled by
Do you think Continentals will replace all the town cars and XTS's I see across the city? I've seen a few continentals walking around manhattan, but livery services have fleets of XTS's and town cars.
>>16299262
I've seen a few places use Chrysler 300s
>>16299262
Most likely yes. I was working airport pickup in LA up until a few days ago. Livery services here seem to prefer Escalades, Suburbans and Town Cars, with the occasional XTS, MKZ Hybrid or Mercedes S/E. I've seen a few CT6 already in livery service. We'll probably start seeing more once the Hybrid model has a US launch. Drivers and firms seems to latch on to one preferred brand and stick with it. We'll probably see a lot of Town Cars replaced with the Continental in the near future, while the CT6 will replace most XTS units in service right now. The XTS isn't particularly reliable and CUE sucks so I think we may see an unprecedented slew of former GM drivers switching to Lincoln or Mercedes, even more so when the Continental Hybrid and E-Class hybrid launch.
>>16299262
>Do you think Continentals will replace all the town cars and XTS's I see across the city
Depends how the future production quality will be since they are moving the assembly line, carriage parts, and internal parts sourcing to China (that was before Trump though). Thus it would be essentially a chinese-made car sold under the Lincoln badge.
How often do you check that all of your bolts on your car are torqued to the manufacturers specs?
never since Im not autistic
>>16299003
Daily. What kind of pleb do you take me for?
>torquing things to spec
Unless it's something delicate like rod bolts or main bearing caps, no. Tight enough is tight enough
What are some of the best car museums in the USA?

>door proceeds to open all the way
>hits a small stone wall thingy around tree at slow speed

>feel like absolute shit for the rest of my life because car was completely dent free
Why are cars so fucking brittle /o/?
>in my Volvo 240
>open the door just a tad
>the double jointed door flings open and hits the curb
>pieces of concrete all over the place
>door is unscathed
>glove box remains closed
>door open
>at any speed
idk op you cant just blame the car like that
>>16297804
I meant the door opened all the way on its own in a slow motion and hit the wall, the car was obviously stationary.
