In /o/'s opinion what are the most car and driver friendly countries?

Putting forward NZ.
>No compulsory insurance
>No emissions tax
>fairly reasonable fuel prices (for import economy)
>decent roads
>decent licencing system
>simple WOF and registration procedures

Thats ok for drivers that learner over here but the problems come from chinks with paid for licenses and have no idea how to drive. They seems to like 4x4 Toyota

Maybe you should have a tax that and fix your goddamn roads.

I lived in a back water place in NZ and can pretty confidently say that nearly all our roads were superior to UK roads of an equivalent category, namely in that they weren't full of potholes.

What precisely do people get at when they say this? What aspects of our roads are so terrible?

Hi, what does /o/ think about Luxury 90's cars? I found a candidate for first car at 2.5k a Lexus LS400 labeled poorly. It has a V8, Autotragic and decent MPG which is all I need in a shit city.

The LS400 is extremely reliable if taken care of. The 1UZ will last 400k+ miles. However, the power steering pumps and rack fail if not flushed. Kinda like old vacuum Mercedes, all of the electronics were cutting edge back in the day and tend to fail with high mileage and age. Most common failure is the illumination of the dials on the dash. The climate control LCD is also prone to failure. Check the Club Lexus forums for even more info.

Right, another question. I live in a shithole country and I'm afraid if something DOES break will I have to use eBay to compensate the lack of replacements in the Island? or are some bits and pieces interchangeable with Toyotas

Chaps and chapettes of Brit/o/, as well as unsightly Americans who will undoubtedly join the thread, Brit/o/ will be travelling to Ultimate Street Car at Santa Pod Raceway this year. The official memes will include Chris Evans, Black Will, anonymous willposting, 4chan Micra Club, Welsh cakes and surprising manoeuvrability on the touge.

The price for this event is £12 per day or £48 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday with camping. The price will go up on the 31st of this month to £22 (standard) or £15 (advance) per day or £70/£60 for the weekend after that, so it's a pretty big saving to book early. The date of the event is the 4-6th August this year.

It's going to be a pretty huge event and it's a good laugh, there's all sorts of stuff going on like stuntmen, you can watch drag racing all day or just treat it like a music festival and go full degenerate.

I traded in my car on December 31st for a used car that this particular dealership got about 4-5 days prior.

It's been 10 days and they still can't get the title from the DMV to give over to me so I can register the fucking thing already. I have another 10 days until my temporary plate expires, and they're saying they'll probably only get it next week.

What the hell do I do?

What happens if I only get the title after the temporary plates expire and I'm forced to drive around with an expired temporary plate?

Why are these assholes selling a car they don't have a title for yet?

You were dumb enough to buy it. The dealership is going to take their sweet time because you already paid and speeding things up costs money. All you can do is sit on a heating pad and wait.

>>16459664

Well yeah, it was a car I was looking for for months and it was 5,000 below market price. I had to jump on it.

What does Northern Europe & the Alps do for winter snow problems?

I'm in Western Canada and all they do is dump buckets full of sand on the road increasing traction minimally, and making our city dirt filthy year round. Like the road median will still be a asteroid field in July.

Seriously I envy car guys in the south with clean underbodies while here every ratchet pull yields a sprinkle of dirt in the face and every bumper has several pounds of dirt trapped behind it.

learn to drive

in Germany you can get heavily fined if you don't remove snow from the top or bottom of your vehicle because they could break free and damage the car behind you/heavily disturb the view and your license plate which has to be visible all time.
if you don't clean your car at least once every three months (with undercarriage sealing) you fail your TÜV. every German has a booklet in his car where they get the stickers from the car wash they have to show while attending TÜV.
also winter tires are a must in winter ( if lower than 3 celsius) and all weathers will be banned in 2020 since the ADAC showed in a study that they don't provide optimal braking in wet conditions or on ice.

My car was being fixed the other day so I borrowed my friend's truck for use. Used it for going to and from work. As common courtesy I gassed it with regular gasoline. The next day apparently his engine wouldn't start and when they had someone check it, it's because the spark plug broke. Is this my fault? I am not very knowledgeable with automotives and I'm looking to find a legit answer because the fix costs about $780.

What was the Truck?

I was going to say maybe it was Diesel, but then

>it's because the spark plugs broke.

If it wasn't a Diesel, and you just used it for a day and filled it up with gas, there's no reason his truck should've shit the bed.
>>
> The next day apparently his engine wouldn't start and when they had someone check it, it's because the spark plug broke. Is this my fault?

No that's typical for a Nissan.
>>
>>16458835

It was a 2014 Nissan v8 Titan... does it run on Diesel?

My mom is looking for a new daily driver and wants a small SUV, so it can fit a two large-ish dog crates and passengers. She's mainly trying to pick between a Hyundai Tuscon, Honda CRV, and Ford Escape. What do you think has the most bang for your buck in that market? Alternatively, which one is the best?

Honda has more cargo space and best build quality.

I would take that.

CRV is made here in Marysville, OH. They're super popular for a good reason.

I drive a Subaru Outback, but all my neighbors have Pilots and CRVs. The new one is pretty nice for what it is.
