Car of the Year: Chevy Bolt
SUV of the Year: Chrysler Pacifica
Truck of the Year: Honda fucking Ridgeline
How does this make you feel, /o/? What does this say about America?
>>16456942
>Bolt
It deserves it as the first real mass market EV with range.
>Pacifica
Isn't this a minivan and not an SUV? It actually looks nice so I'll give it the points for that
>Ridgeline
In what's kind of a middle year for the big three US makers, it makes sense to give it to a new, very different pickup.
>Your truck of the year
>Transverse

Why does /o/ like Twingo so much? Why is it a meme? My car's a Twingo but I never noticed anything meme worthy about it..
we should make a pasta for that.
basically that shitbox is cute/silly looking while modern cars are all looking angry and constipated.
also the car is simple as a car can be so not a lot can go wrong and buying, fixing and running them is laughable cheap.
also they're incredibly roomy for a tiny car.
>>16456900
>good fuel economy
>simple (so reliable and easy to maintain/fix)
>cheap and plentiful (if you live in mainland europe)
>doesn't look insecure about being an economy car like 99% of alternatives
>can turn it into a bed on wheels by folding the seats down
And/or just a case of the grass being greener on the other side of the fence, because us bongs and burgers didn't get them.
>>16457220
Examples of alternatives that you are talking about?

Get the fuck out
garbage from the wrong country
>4.5k redline
I don't care
>tfw listening to my mechanic telling me horror stories about people working on their own cars rather than taking them to a mechanic
You should take your car to a dealer for everything, too many fuckups that can cause more damage than what was there in the first place
I'm a better mechanic than most mechanics around though. They constantly ruin shit by sheering off bolts. I'll never be that stupid. Other than that there's not much you can fuck up anyway.
>>16456631
t busrider neet who has never done anything with their hands
Get out faggot, not too much to lose on a 20 year old car even if I did fuck something up, paying some greasemonkey in a greasepit 60€ an hour to ass around on my whip is going to cost me more in a year than what it would to buy another and run it to the ground. Anyway, only cucks pay another man to do a job you can do by yourself, I've got a higher education level than most mechanics anyway.
I have a 13 year old Audi that I bought from a salvage auction with no service history and it's been running completely flawlessly for a year now.
It's had 2 annual inspections and all that come up is easily fixable wear items like CV joints.
Where does the Audi being unreliable meme come from?
I just spray painted my rims whilst they were still attached to my car.
How fucked am I?
It wasn't till I moved to the other side of the car and into the sun, that I noticed I was spraying directly onto the disc brake behind the wheel lol.
Honestly, I don't really care as it's an old car and it's what I deserve for being such a fuck up. Just curious.
>>16456588
You're both stupid as fuck and lazy. Probably nothing though, Just break a few times at a slow speed when you drive again. It should scrape it off.
Ideally now, you would take the rims off and rub the rotor with some thinners. But I doubt you'll do that. So it will just take a while for it to be completely removed from both the rotor, and the pad once the paint is transferred.
It'll probably brake a bit oddly till the paint burns off, but really shouldn't be a problem at all.
Painted rotors dont rust so just think of this as a happy accident
>You find your dream car for half it's market value.
>It's low miles and perfectly maintained
BUT
>The previous owner commited suicide in the car and wasn't found for 6-weeks.
What do?
>>16456508
How did he commit suicide? If he blew his brains out all over the inside of the car, then fuck that.
>>16456508
I wouldn't buy it. I'm incredibly superstitious.
>>16456510
They died of exhaust gas poisoning.
Why do Porsche cars have so many variants?
Also what's the point of a GTS spec for 911?
gts is the best "normal" variant (ie not turbo or GT3)
It's like the Grand Sport Corvette.
It's usually introduced late in the product cycle when demand is flagging (idk why they launched it so early this time)
>>16456482
My guess is that they're trying to attract "enthusiast" buyers who've otherwise been turned off by the switch to turbo and electric steering.
I haven't driven the new 991.2 yet (and probably won't get to do so any time soon) but I got to drive the original 991 C2S on track and was pretty disappointed with it compared to the 997. I wouldn't be surprised if Porsche is having trouble marketing it to real drivers.
>>16456482
Nice. Thank you.
Why is it so fucking expensive to own a vehicle in the UK? I get hypothetical quotes into the thousands to insure an absolute shitbox (which is new enough to conform to your emissions regulations mind you). Without getting a magic box fitted.
This is all before road taxes and TV licenses and all that other shit.
Do they just hate cars on the roads or what?
>>16456418
I was watching that Motorway Cops show on Netflix...first off UK..lol. Second, not having insurance seems to be a very common thing.
>>16456427
Yes but you get fined and points for not having it. In my native country you don't even have to have insurance, just a warrant and registration.
>>16456427
If you don't have insurance they can legally seize your vehicle.
Lets talk head units?
If a car I bought has one installed. can I just replace the face with another one or would I need to reinstall the whole block?
Also what are some real nice simplistic ones?
Are there any that will double as a reverse camera. thinking of installing one as I am getting lazy
You have to replace the whole unit
Also reverse cams are for faggots and women
The faceplate being detachable is just so you can take it so thieves will just see an empty face
You have to replace a whole stereo to change any kind of functionality.
There are one's with reverse cameras but I think they are all double-din. Also going to have to have all that installed.
>>16456328
There are single DIN's with retracting screens, they're very clever and might come with a rear view camera feature, but they're usually expensive as fuck (€1200 for example).
Is the wide-body Hellcat going to be the coolest looking production non-supercar ever?
It's basically a high powered wheelchair my dude
>>16456279
Wheelchairs turn on a dime though.
Absolutely not
what does /o/ think about this car?
2.0 E 16V quattro
>not 20V
Pointless.
>>16456223
why tho
>>16456312
>4 less valves
That's how he thinks. He's 12 BTW.
Is it too big to be considered a true standup?
no one on 4chan wants to talk pwc with me
>>16457833
i would anon i just have no fucking idea what pwc means
>>16457839
personal water craft aka. jet-ski
The things you find in a barn.
>>16456116
Doc?
>>16456116
Always makes me wonder how these old coot farmers end up with some of the weird stuff they have shoved in their barns. I mean, who goes out and spends money on just Delorean doors? With no intentions for them at that.
There's a farmer I know about 20 miles from me with barns full of shit, one has a Lamborghini Espada in it. Again, I just don't understand. The guy has been driving the same 87 Crown Vic since the day he bought it new, when did he get the itch to buy a sports car to apparently never drive?
>>16456191
Lots of people are hoarders. Some of them will eventually hoard some rare and weird stuff now and then.

Worst: Champagne, happy they dont make that shit anymore
Maintenance: It takes me 2 hours to clean my car, I'm really meticulous. Only washed in strokes along the body, 3 bucket, clay each time, sealant, waxed when I'm not too tired. 2 years old and no swirls, plan to keep it that way
My paint is better than some people's come off the lot

Yellow on anything that's not a sports car, light blue, that autistic gold that every Toyota Camry from the early 2000s came in.
I can literally pull flakes off my car, I think it's the clear coat? Are there any products I can use to at least some what make my car look nicer? This thing is definitely not nice enough for a complete respray but I hate looking at it
/o/ I need to buy a car for two weeks, potentially more because my company doesn't have an extra car for me and I will be without one.
I'm too young to rent one.
I've found a w126 300SD turbo within my budget of $1000. 288k miles
The more I think about it, the more I like this thing.
Diesel, lasts forever, great on fuel.
Super comfy interior, electric everything, luxury barge status.
Am I missing something with these?
>>16456026
No, you go into your bosses office tomorrow and tell him to wrangle you up a company car or you are gonna walk
That sounds completely retarded. Your company is completely retarded if it can't solve such a problem.
>>16456039
That's not an option.
